Actors Painful Prosthetics & Costumes In Twilight

- From awkward wigs to painful contact lenses and costumes that didn’t quite suit the weather, the cast members of the Twilight film saga endured quite the experiences while filming!
Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner were definitely some of the actors who had it the worst. Stewart dealt with awkward leg prosthetics that forced her to keep her real legs still, sweating under a prop table! The Bella actress’ pregnancy prosthetics were no walk in the park either - it took over three hours just to attach all the prosthetics to her face! Pattinson’s vampire look as Edward Cullen required extremely uncomfortable coloured contact lenses and two unfortunate hair piece incidents. When initially filming Twilight, the actor had hair extensions that drove him so crazy, he ripped them right out of his head! The other wig he had he nicknamed “Frankenstein Wig.” Pattinson didn’t have it as bad as actress Nikki Reid - her hair actually started falling out as a result of extremely damaging hair dye done for the role. Both Stewart and Pattinson had to deal with terrible contact lenses. PAttinson claimed he couldn’t see anything and constantly felt like he had sand in his eyes, while Stewart said she couldn’t see while wearing them and couldn’t wait to never have to wear them again. Taylor Lautner’s long black wig wasn’t just hated by the actor, but by the majority of the creative team as well. The wig was itchy, hot and annoying for the actor and a total nuisance for the crew since the hair proved so unruly, it often blew around and got caught awkwardly in the actors face. In one shot, it resulted in Lautner spitting hair out of his mouth right before going in to kiss Bella. We’re covering all these experiences and more!

It took a lot of patience 😳
RIGHTTTT
I could never
Hey are they any chances of another Twilight movie?
Since when wearing contact lenses is "painful"!? If thats so I should be in pain the whole time since I am shortsighted and i have to wear them often. I feel nothing, no discomfort anything....the actors are complaining too much lol. Its a movie, shooting a movie is not an easy stuff lol
@@charaasmrbullsht8594 every one is not the same sometimes it is irritating and sometimes you don't feel anything (no offense)
Bella’s hair/wig looked fantastic when she became a vampire.
Yeah! It’s the eclipse wig that’s horrible…
I hated the first wig. It was so bad. Her last wig was more realistic. There are so many good wigs out there I don't know why they couldn't just buy a good one for her
А по моему какие были такие и есть
Yh it was
I agree
Bella’s malnourishment during her entire pregnancy literally scared me because of how realistic it looked to the point that I just had to look up and make sure they weren’t actually requiring her to starve herself for the role
I loved how Bella’s hair looked after she became a vampire
Honestly shame on the costume department for not finding better alternatives. Or at least better people to put the extensions in, like...
I work in this side of production and i’m pretty sure they did what they can to give them comfort with the requirements given to them.
In production, there’s a lot of trial and errors before and during shoot and we fix them with whatever resources, abilities, and time we have. The discomforts the actors experience while working is inevitable and to hear them complain can break our hearts as we treat them like our family. We have requirements to fulfill. We also take part in helping the story come to life and we try to make everything look realistic as possible. Working with celebrities can also be challenging as they can be more vulnerable than the regular actors. Working in film is a roller coaster not only for actors- but to see a good result of the prod team’s hard work is an incredible feeling.
@@parisdreamer899 I’m so curious about your profession. How did you get your position? If you don’t mind me asking. Totally understand if you do mind.

@@miller6333 what's your problem, Milly?👁👁
Going from brunette to blonde without damaging the hair is a gradual process that takes weeks. 36 hours? No wonder her hair started falling out!
i think they just added all the time it took together
@@teresita7933 Possibly. But it still doesn't account for why her hair was falling out.
@@Jenifer_R_ i mean bleaching does damage your hair and it falls out during the process. i think they were just exaggerating
@@teresita7933 4:51 I went back and watched her segment. They said "intense 36 hour treatment". So I got the hours wrong - have to edit that - but that indicates it was done over a couple of days. They then said it "destroyed her hair to the point where it actually started falling out." Doesn't sound like they were exaggerating.
@@Jenifer_R_ ye me mama said bleaching hair should be done with long breaks in between so the hair gets to rest
It's almost a decade since this movie was released and it's still the best movie eveeeeeeeeeeer! for meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
Agreed I can’t go a week without watch the movies
@Mira Migue I agree,the best movie💖
yes amen the best movies ever
It truly is I watch them EVERY NIGHT to go to bed 🙂
whoa I just saw it for the first time on Netflix this year.... it's so good. breaking dawn pt 2 was such a good ending film. both my boyfriend and I loved it.
Painful Costumes and Prosthetics make movie scenes look amazing 👌
The actors chosen for The Twilight Saga were excellent. A couple of them became big stars as a result of the series' success.
We can only wonder what the franchise would have been like had different performers landed those roles.
yas
Not my fav movies
But agreed
Most of the actors in twilight were already big actors or kinda big. The move was terrible and mouth breather and shovel face were a terrible choice for Bella and Edward.
I feel bad for the actors, but the film got a love because of those prosthetics it was worth it.
Well it's a good thing they get paid millions of dollars to compensate for that "pain"...
I’d do anything for that much money lol
Right, and wasn’t Kristen the highest paid actress in 2012?
Yea ikr they sound a little bit ungrateful
IKR. These entitled creatures TRULY don't know what bad is DESPERATELY need a humbling shower.
For me, the contacts would have been the worst. I already can’t wear normal contacts, but I’ve heard certain color contacts are so much worse
The yellow eye contacts were arguably the worst ones and you could easily notice that by how off the actors' gazes looked at times.
Also, it looked like the Denali's yellow contacts were brighter and cheaper than the ones of the Cullens, at least that's what I think I noticed, but I could be wrong.
I think with the large budget they have been allowed, they could have done by posttreatment, and not using real contacts lens
honestly there are some moments where the yellow contacts look so natural but other times its just so so obvious. would of been easier on the actors to just change the eye colours post-production
@@parknochuism826 Yeah. I think the Eclipse ones looked probably the worst.
Taylor's long hair issues are what long haired girls have all the time, with the added maintenance and pain in the scalp.
😠😠😠
Соня
So we aren't gonna mention the demon child Renessme?
Pain and gain go hand in hand! The entire series turned out to be a huge success ❤
Kristen’s wig in eclipse was the was pretty bad personally. As for every other movie, I absolutely loved her hair. And Nikki’s wigs throughout the entire series (apart from the first movie with her own hair) were probably the worst of all, especially the one she wore in New Moon, they must have purchased them from Wish.
I didn't even know any of these were wigs. It all looked the same to me.
The guy who played Edward probably had astigmatism in his eyes which caused the bad reaction to the contact lenses. He probably needed special made ones for that reason.
His name is ROBERT PATTINSON

The most awkward one is renesmee baby appeareance 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I feel like the things is watching me because every time I get into something new the things posts a video on that topic and it really scares me
They thought the practical effects on Jake and Bella weren't convincing but felt the cgi baby was 💀🤣
It's been 13 years but it's still my favorite movie
Mine to 🥺❤️
Kristen Stewart wore a complete wig only in Eclipse, in Breaking Dawn she wore extensions, as in the other movies. But in Eclipse, you can realize there are 2 different wigs for Bella, one more straight, and another one more ondulating
Imagine wearing contacts and hair extensions are the most annoying part of a job that pays millions... Shucks
IKR
Such an entitled, snowflake world
Yayyy Twilight trending
Covering all 5 places on Netflix
Sooo happpyyy
Keep going twihards
Omg tysm! Someone still makes videos of twilight!🔥
Only twilight fanics will get this.
“WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN LOCA!?”
If people are doubting how far you can go, go so far that you can’t hear them anymore
I love how I see Twilight related posts and vids lately because of how Netflix released the whole saga! Ah miss those times. Wish I can go back to 2008-2012 days and see the films in the big screen again. I was a total Robsten hahaha and Kristen is my fav American actress :)
I actually need to wear contacts because of my bad eye sight and sometimes use colored. They aren’t painful though… maybe like back then they didn’t have good ones? I’m from Japan and we have really good colored contact lenses lol that’s so sad they had to wear such painful ones :( I thought Bella (Kristen) used a wig for Eclipse because she cut her hair for the Runaways. BD part 1/2 was a wig too!? Looked pretty natural to me!
Yah they messed up. The wig Kristen wore was in Eclipse
@Katelyn Bacon Netflix US? I have Netflix Japan and also it has been on there for a while haha but it looks like US didn’t have it until like last week
I guess I am considered a Twilight Mom (should be Twilight Grandma) but I watched the whole saga (a few times) on HBO not too long ago and I still love it!
@@Amara_Buchheit right!! Her hair looked pretty natural to me in BD part 1/2. They probably just used extensions to make it longer
7:54 I'm sorry I laughed😭
I hear a lot of actors complain of hair falling because of color change/bleaching. I've done my own coloring for most my life...and I'm no professional, but I do respect the chemistry involved in it. So it blows my mind when movie productions (whose budget go beyond my CVS / Sally's beauty trip value) do that do actor's hairs...
ストーリーも俳優さん、女優さんもとても素敵です‼️何度観ても全然飽きません😊
I feel so bad for them
Amazing video 👍
Bella’s hair was fantastic!
Either way I still loved the Twilight series
Those yellow contacts are so uncomfortable! I wore them for a twilight event and I was distracted by them all evening and couldn't stop looking at the yellow bits. Also since I have hazel eyes, my eye colour didn't change very much.
None of them sounded any worse than the others IMO. I say that because it's all part of the experience that will help to make you humble as well as driven. They make memories for us to keep.
I would hate the contacts I probably wouldn’t have been able to do that movie because they would have made me go crazy
Hello I love your videos
Love this 📷 video!
U have a future...
Thanks!
This just makes me appreciate the “Twilight” movies even more.
Well, I Cosplay so I know that Wigs and contact lenses might not be the most comfortable thing, but if you don't use the cheapest stuff it's bearable. I would have thought they have all the money to get their actors the good stuff, but obviously not 😅
Actors go through a lot for their craft. I give them a lot of credit. I was a nurse for 43 years. When a uniform got uncomfortable I gave it away or threw it out. Not an option for actors.
Hey fellow nurse! Only 35 years as an RN but Volunteer, NA Program, and NA during the RN Program, worked as an RN and taught CNA classes at the local college, gives me 48 years in the Medical Field. And yes...those uniforms became unbearable at times. Scrubs really helped in the later years! Thank you for being a Nurse!
@@virginiajones7998 You too! I also worked as a NA in a medical office for 3 years before I got my RN.
@@debracarey6735 I think ALL the RNs should work as a CNA for at least a year before they start the RN Program to know how hard the job is. Then they can learn how hard being a an RN is when they get on the floor. It isn't General Hospital. You have to love the job!
@@virginiajones7998 There must be only flowers and unicorns in your "hospitals" if you think nurses don't know what the work of a CNA entails. All nurses who were students (all of them duh) or those in certain fields know very well the horror it is and don't need imbecile statements like yours.
this movie is old but gold .it hits me diff decade past away but this is my top 1 favee
My favourite movie ever 😍 😍 😍 😍 😍 thanks so much
This is my fav
They all did a great! Its my all time favorite book & movie franchise. You couldn't tell any of them were struggling with some very annoying, irritating, sometime painful costume gear. We thank you all for going threw it all because it was just all so esthetically pleasing making the movie, the story come to light so vividly. Amazing!!! The only problem i had was with Bella. Now don't get me wrong. I still wouldn't have changed the actor/ess at all. Because it all came together fabulously despite the lacking ability to act done by Stewart. Maybe it was the chemistry between her & Paterson. Im not sure but it worked. Which I don't understand either, since she came out as "Dude, Im SO GAY" not BI. No, no, no!! So gay. So thats my confusion. Regardless the chemistry was on point and we fell in love again with the couple and with love again. Despite her obvious lack of talent. That annoying forced kind of studder thing she does is awful. And she does it all the time. Plus other nonsence!!! Anyway like I said they all did a great job and she somehow pulled it off regardless and deserves the praise recieved in this movie. Would i watch her in anything else. It depends but probably not. Depending on the story line and other actor/esses on the film. Still I wish her well, and tons of success (im sure she's grown alot and will continue.to grow and learn alot in her acting).
i think the contacts and chilly weather. that would be hard.
This needs to comeback , the writer needs to start writing again
This is why I'm scared to ever play in a movie because of the painful process that goes along with it.
I have pain everyday from working.. and much much much less payed
Krysten jsi nejlepší !!!😍
How could you not laugh when you are patting someones head when they are wearing a full body suit
I wear contacts when I go out and wear my glasses when I'm at home. When I first got them it was uncomfortable but now I don't even notice when it's in.
I felt so bad for Robert Taylor Nikki Kristen and Ashley to go through the whole Bella transitioning from having a baby and how she wound up dead right after and transformed into a vampire sequence if I was Kristen I would be so freakin scared mostly and might end up having her help my guide since she experienced with this in the whole series
I wore colored contacts a few years ago regulalry and they were never uncomfortable. Maybe they used a cheap/bad brand?
I have been wearing them since 3 years now. Still no inconvenience. I think the make up person put the contacts on to them with dirty hands or dirty solution or something.
Exactly, I know there are people who have sensitive eyes, but still. Even those thick cosplay contacts aren't as hellish as what the cast describe their contacts were.
Honestly they probably had it on the wrong side or got something stuck in them I’ve been wearing contacts since 2013 and colored ones since 2015 I sleep in them and all and they never bother me unless an eyelash gets in it or I put it in on the wrong side 🤣
7:59 LOL I CANT W THAT SUIT
Their hair and make up department sounds like a mess 😳
the question is if hair extension is as uncomfortable as uve mention why do people still do it in real life? i dont understand because i would never put myself uncomfortable just to look different
I love the wig on her in BREAKING DAWM
I love Twila I keep watching it❤
Favourite movie ever since 🥰🥰
The terrible wig due to filming the runaways was in eclipse, not breaking dawn, she just has more extensions again.
I like the end
The contacts.. I know that feeling of sandpaper
I love the movie so much I watch it all the time best movie ever I will not stop watching it love you guys 💕😀❤️
In the video clip she says: we feel for them. Well i think i'm not the only one that doesn't feel sorry for them. And the question: what situation feels most uncomfortable to you. That answer would be the situation that they got paid sooooo much. But i have to admit that a blond wig would have been better from the start, instead of constantly dye her hair.
She is really a professional actress. I like foreigners very much. Your sister is from the Arabs of Iraq 😍🌷

I must say Bella character done a great work 👍
So first they bleached her hair too the point it was failing out and then your put a wig on? Are you serious?? Why not just put a wig on at first. Going from dark brown to very white blond is so damaging
Sounds like cheap contacts ! I wear colored contacts daily and it’s not painful
Right or not stored and cleaned properly
Fr.. like my $10 contacts don't hurt me as bad as they said theirs did and they have a better budget? Like c'mon
Maybe a decade ago the contacts weren't so good. I remember in Harry Potter bts Daniel also complained that he had extreme reaction wearing the contact lenses so they kept his eyes blue instead of green like in the books.
Exactly.. I was confused on that part too. I don’t wear contacts but I use to watch people and my friends put on those crazy fun color contacts like the same color they had in the movie and they never experienced the pain. Only that it is alittle hard to see out of some of them. But the pain .. no
This was the early 2000s contacts weren't as good
Favt and best one ever for meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee 😍💝💞
I’m a fan of your videos on Netflix
when she vampire she look's very beautiful like a doll❤
Its just great how they did everything to make the movie go good.
and yet, they were still awful...
Last year I performed in the musical "Addams Family" where I played a Victorian ancestor. I had to wear this long curly grey wig for the role and for the last rehearsals and not only was it hot and itchy. In the last rehearsals and the first few days of the show, it gave me a splitting headache each time I had it put on.
Oh, I saw him in that gray outfit. I could feel my head squeezing in.Ggggggg gotta go through pain twilight
Such professionals
I just got done watching this movie 😭
The fact kristen was wearing a wig for breaking dawn part 2 is so heartbreaking for me..I honestly thought that was her real hair and she grew it out over the years..ha I knew about the wig in eclipse but not part 2.🥴
Why did she wear one?
Lol that wig made Taylor lautner look like braveheart
I been wanted to be an actress the day watch twilight movie, they are all an amazing actors
i hated taylor's hair extention too
It sounds like the producers and crew didn't give a fuck about the actor's comfort
Not really this is really normal in entertainment business. The amount of things actors go through is alot and hours.
Yep, I remember watching one or two of these movies. it was painful
It's still one of the best movies! For the actors i can imagine that how hard the acting was but after all i think every Twilight Series is successful they did a good job with this movie👊🔥🔥🔥
“What part was the most painful”?! Kristen Stewarts attempt at acting.
I love that movie
😍Bella’s hair/wig looked fantastic when she became a vampire.
That was a huge wolf.

All the actors did a great job, even tho that had wigs, eyes color changed and all makeup on.
