They can't even produce more than a dozen t14 tanks and only have 5 operational su57, and are resorting to using equipment from the 60s and 70s.

Ex soviet equipment still has value even after the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991. Where the modern aircraft such as su 35 5th generation has failed, older aircraft such as the frogfoot have seen success which still proves that the 90s inventory can prove to be a reliable backup in the 21st century.

It would be much more interesting to learn why so many Russian SU-25 fail in Donetsk.
Because they do everything they can to spare civilians, which is by no way thé US way to wage wars.
Confirmed destroyed Su25s are at 14. The 14 include shot down as well as other causes like crashes. Losses due to other causes like non lethal battle damage or simple wear and tear is unknown. Russia has 190 or so Su25s. Whether all of these are operational is debatable.
So Su25s have taken roughly 10% losses, maybe more if there are a significant number put out of action by wear or damage. That is not great if you are an Su25 pilot.
Further, Russian strike aircraft of all kinds have been reduced to dropping dumb bombs. They, and the rest of Russia's air force, are not incredibly effective.
