      @@GBGuns I like them alot, I carried a 92fs and Browning HP in service, I do love a hammer gun ;), the p1 is my preferred carry, I like alittle longer sight rail, and barrel. I am looking at the Storm 4x G next purchase, (decocker fan). I will say the GP are very well made, excellent fitting, Dad was a Gunsmith and I was machinist. My grandson, a Marine will be getting my 2 Tanfoglio's which I was carrying until I got the GPs

    I'm loving my GP. And like you, got bit by the bug. You were alking about wishing for a different sights.. I guess Global will swap out the from for a fiber on request.. At least with the 12s. Still contumplating if I want a K X trim or a standard K. The lightning cuts worth the extra? All I know is my X Cal is more accurate than my fully custom PX4.. Pisses me off a little, but then again, it sold me to the Grand Power Cult. ;-)

  • @sabatiniontech7256
    @sabatiniontech7256 2 місяці тому

    Great gun, I own it. The case they provide, on the other hand, is an embarrassment. It is flimsy, clasps do not work, it is not TSA compliant.
    Biggest problem is lack of after market options: no threaded barrel, no fiber optic front sight, no tritium sights, no suppressor height sights (for example Sig Sauer has suppressor height tritium sights). Hey Global Ordinance get some after market parts for Grand Power.
    What I really want is a decocker, formerly an option now not.

    • @GBGuns
      @GBGuns  2 місяці тому

      Let GLobal Ordnance know you want a decocker model. There's no threaded barrel because there are no US parts that would work on a rotating barrel. There are fiber optic sights and other options IF Global Ordnance imports them.

  • @kayinvanderkill

    Question...these have firing pin blocks, correct? It looks like they have them anyway. Is that a part that eventually needs to be replaced like they do on CZs? And like CZs can it be damaged by too much dry fire without a snap cap? Also, you have the decocker on the MK12, is that interchangeable with the safety on the MK23? With the different barrel design and slightly different housing, maybe not? I'm not sure what is involved with switching to the decocker, but if you can find a dirt cheap decocker MK12 from pretty much any of the 9mm models then maybe it's worth it for the parts since you can't buy them separately. The safety at least looks the same on the MK12 and MK23.

    Another great review. Thanks! I got the K100 and I am now on a mission to find suppressor-height sights (the GP 2024 catalog shows them, but Global Ordnance does not stock them yet.) I spoke with a Global Ordnance sales person and he said it's "likely" that they'll have them but no actual commitment or an ETA. Is there any other global supplier that you know and would mail sights? Do you know if GP sells direct? I am also in the process of sourcing a better fitting plate (one that fits the width of the optic and the contours of the slide.)

    • @GBGuns
      @GBGuns  4 місяці тому +5

      After the main review I've been mounting dots on guns and taking them back out, I just don't like altering a firearm and then reviewing it because it's then no longer an objective review of the gun. I stopped measureing trigger pull weight when I realized it didn't matter unless it was under 3lbs or over 10lbs. Trigger feel is what makes the difference and that unfortunately can only be descripbed.

      The "rest of your viewers"?
      I'm one of his viewers and I just don't see it. Four to five times a week at the range and I usually go most weeks without seeing someone else use a pistol dot.
      Maybe folks like them more where you live as opposed to mine. Hard telling.
      I'm part of the silent majority, those that won't use pistol dots on duty guns.
      They are another piece of gear to maintain, another piece of gear susceptible to malfunction, and detract ever so slightly from concealability.
      I have owned and used Trijicon, Vortex, Sig, Burris, Meprolight, and a few others at some point. At some point and in some way, every single pistol dot I've owned has failed. Every single one, one way or another.
      Like me, there are many of us who have found out that dots, even those of reputable manufacture, are a consumable item.
      Plus frankly, as GB has stated again and again and again and again, ad infinitum, he is reviewing a firearm, not an optic or optics/gun combination.
      Not bashing others' choices, and I'm not actually an "anti" dotter. I've obviously owned more than a few. it's just that I suspect if you look around they are less common than you feel. I rarely see them up here except in competition shooting.

    • @boog3690
      @boog3690 4 місяці тому

      It would be nice to know the footprints and optics mounting information at the very least. How it mounts and cowitniss with the irons. I mean that is part of the gun and should be included with the gun review information. What better way to demonstrate what the gun mounting footprint is like than to actually show one mounted. Just saying. Not trying to start an optics debate...should you use or not...just the information if the gun is so equipped.
