- Merry Christmas! To round off 2022 we thought we'd celebrate one of BMW's finest works, the E92 M3.
Being the only M3 with a V8, and also the only car that V8 was ever put in, makes the E92 a very special car indeed.
Today, we celebrate this amazing car, and that amazing engine.

Which is your favourite generation of M3? 👇
Hard to choose when they are all perfect.
To be honest I’ve owned the E30 M3 sport evo ( wish I still had it) the E36 M3 Evo ( wish I still had it) the E46 M3 (got two cabs) never owned a V8 E92 tho.
I’ve got the M4CS , a Z4M roadster, a E46 Alpina B3S cab & a M4 comp cab….
To be honest it’s a hard choice, if you could take parts from each one & make the ultimate M car would you actually ever be happy🤔
Hands down E9X!
I own a 2011 e90 m3 dct, absolutely love the car! Would never sell it, I prefer my e90 m3 over any newer M car…everyone is always out there trying to get the latest model and it’s mostly to flex on people, I love my car for what it is and for what it does! It has more than plenty of power to have fun in, and if I need more power I’ll just simply do a supercharger set up but there’s no need for that much power in my opinion, just the sound itself is enough for me
Just Timeless ❤
Even in 2022 the E92 M3 still looks modern and timeless.
e36, e46, e92 m series were legends amongst us..... This era of vehicle is dead and these will become true collectors vehicles . Grab a low mile manual and cherish it .
Couldn’t agree more!
As an m3 e92 owner, I’d say the dct is more suited to the car and engine. However whatever floats your boat.
@@737Adventures I think for that weekend toy, The manual is unbeatable... Ive got my auto in my EV, I certainly don't want it in my fun car. However I will say the dct box is excellent as are the pdks.
@@737Adventures i have an e46 m3 (manual) and i live quite close to the german border and i am complete supporter of safe the manuals but i also understand why people would choose a dct over a manual. To be honest driving 250 kmh + and having to shift is actually quite scary.
Got an e92 6spd. 50k miles driving about 2k miles a year. On weekends manual all the way, I drove both but dct feels good but not wild like the manuals do
I’ve had my E92 M3 for 4 years so far and I’m never planning to sell it. I’ve always wanted once since they came out, and owning it honestly feels like a dream come true. I’ve had mine supercharged and it’s just awesome, and I honestly feel like it’s a forever car for me 😊
Don’t sell it! You’ll regret it! Supercharged must be savage!!
@@scd It’s an Edition Monte Carlo as well, because I’m a sucker for special edition things 😅 And it’s not the most powerful kit around, mine made 583hp on the dyno, but it’s enough for me 😄
Can you put all this power to the tarmac or is it only for drift?
@@heraszikos The power delivery is very progressive, so in the dry, it's fine, though you always have to be a bit careful. But when it's a bit cold or damp, you do have to be very careful because it's a real handful!
I’ve had my E93 for the past 2years. Gosh the S65 is such a godsend. Never gonna sell this car
Faults aside…. What a car! Cool, collectible, timeless, useable & wont be repeated
1:15 the horses are like "bro thats a fkin m3! you know the one with the V8! cmon hurry up!"
😂😂
Maybe the best M-car of all-times for me. At least what comes to driving pleasure.
I remember doing the pre-delivery inspection on the first 2008 M3 that came off the truck at the dealership where I worked. It was bright red and I fell head over heels in love with it! I worked on them until I left in 2013. Every drive in one was an emotional experience. The sounds, the feel, the smells, everything. It was perfection! Sadly I was never in a position to afford one. Hopefully soon I can scoop one up and cherish it forever!
There’s just nothing like them!
My dad had one of these from 2009 to 2013 in manual. Engine is a masterpiece. I still miss that car.
Not surprised! It’s sublime. We’ll never sell this car
I keep cars forever anyway but this is the only one currently I just can see selling. 2nd owner for 6 yrs, 56k miles, comp, manual.
Getting hard to replace now if one is particular about specs, some 80% in USA are DCTs. Haven't checked recently but believe I can still get $35k or more that I bought it for, primary reason that matters to me is it's a consensus on the durability of desirability.
I've had my E90 for 13+ years now, 120k+ miles, still going strong and making smiles
E92 comp manual, 2nd owner for 6yrs, 56k miles and still seems new-ish and exciting to me.
Got me an e92 m3 back in august. I fell in love with it more than expected. I just knew that v8 would give me an experience no other M car would. DCT + V8 + M suspension in a coupe. It has all the ingredients needed for a fun weekend car.
Couldn't agree more!
The best M3 ever!
I just took my 2008 e93 down to Key West to escape the cold. It was a glorious drive all the way down the overseas highway. I completely fell in love with the car for uptenth time, lol. Putting the roof down driving all the way around Key West, watching sunsets, enjoying the views and sounds from the V8 was amazing. Will keep this car for a long time.
I couldn't agree more: The BMW 3 Series E92 is a design classic. Mine is 'only' a 320D SE but the feel, handling and good old-fashioned fun to be had is never-ending. Mine has a lowly 184 bhp, which is plenty enough for me. Around town it can feel a little agricultural, but out on the country lanes, at pace, the car never leaves the road. And on the motorway? OMG! Put it in 6th and the car just soars...it's incredible. My wife and family aside, getting a 320D is the best thing I've ever done. Great video - respect is very much due. 👍❤
Yes agree E92 great car I have a 325i M sport with only 32000 miles on 19 inch rims 6:04 been out in her this afternoon for a 30 mile blast great ! 😊
Great vid, I’ve had my e92 for 8 years now and I love it, it’s the car that keeps on giving, 40,000 miles in mine now and it still gets the heart racing each time I press that start button, this car has a unique personality that will be difficult to find in the future and is still affordable, for now.
Great to see you using it as intended! One of a kind 🙌
As a kid I obsessed over the E46 promotion book sitting in my friends study room, purchased a beautiful E92 years ago on a work promotion and have had my F80 a year after killing it in the markets for a few years. Every M car guy has a story and it’s fascinating how one car model can galvanize such a captive audience. Such a joy
I bought a 2012 E92 M3 6MT last summer and am still loving every minute of it
Congrats 👏
As an owner of E92 M3 for the past year, i have to say I had goosebumps throughout the video!!
I love my car to death, had put a SuperSprint Race rear mufflers, competition wheels, a lot of carbon part and recently purchased a full Eventuri carbon system!!
Sounds amazing from the front and from the back!!!
Bet that sounds epic!
My 2011 E92 M3 ZCP. Owned since new. Now at 120,000 miles. Been to all corners of GB, as far north as the Atlantic road in Norway, as far south as Cinque Terre in Italy, and as far east as Grossglockner in Austria. 15000 track miles too. Fully restored from bare metal. Chassis and powertrain improved with select components. 25.2mpg average. Faster (and obviously more comfortable) than my 991.2 GT3RS Weissach on any B-road. My do it all performance car.
Love this! Send pics to our Instagram @supercardriver
Really faster than your GT3 RS on B-roads, how is that possible? What about on track? I had a 2011 E93 M3 for almost 5 years and my next car the F80 Competition was clearly faster on track. I liked the E92 way way more.
@@peterhammer4644 I hope to keep my E92 forever. I have done 14k miles so far in my daily F80 M3 CS with CCBs, and I still prefer my E92 M3 with all its trick bits. My E92 is faster and more satisfying than my 991.2 RS on B-roads simply because it has very trick suspension with a good amount of suspension travel that the RS cannot have (due to its track bias nature) and it’s less wide than most modern sports/supercars.
Right as I’m about to purchase one. You guys really have Christmas magic in you.
Happy holidays! Get it bought
If I'm about to give any advice I would recommend the single hump model. The only thing that gets old on this car is the infotainment system.
@@TheRealDr.Mabuse i installed a carplay box in mine which let's me retain the cic functionality and it's totally worth and makes the car much more modern.
Merry Christmas to you. Very exciting indeed.
@@LounaticE92 I have the hideous CCC system and until now I hav only found an retired retrofit CIC kit. This was indeed interesting. Thanks for the tip!
My dad got an E92 M3 alpine edition this year... it's absolutely gorgeous, every time he starts it I get a tingle. Brilliant piece of machinery.
Couldn't agree more!
God what a stunner. Those headlights have got to be the best of all time
I had an E92 335i coupe when these came out and spent some time drooling over one in a showroom. It is, with the possible exception of the 3 liter CSL, the only BMW I fell for.
Yes!! my 2013 M3 Competition with 29,000 miles is a keeper and cannot be replaced by the newer models.
I have a 2012 e92 comp. They are God's car.
Epic, the era of E46 and E92 M3s remains the best M powered BMWs, it must be powered by “M” and not any bolt on blower, no, that is the M turbo. The craftsmanship that BMW put into the naturally aspirated E46 and E90 engines will be celebrated in the future, the newer M3 turbo engine no matter how fast does not provoke emotions like NA engines. Thanks to the mechanical God for giving us the GT4 RS and other new generation Porsche with superior naturally aspirated engines to chase the high revs! Merry petrolicious Christmas! May the NA live long!!!
Couldn’t agree more! Well said 🙌🙌
Absolutely nailed it with this one! My E90 brings me so much joy every single time I get in it. There will never be another one like it. Keeping mine for the long haul!
You better! Thanks for watching
Fantastic video! 👍 The recordings, the V8, the music. Everything fits perfectly! I have had my E92 M3 for over 8 years and have driven over 120,000 km with it. I love this car! 🔥 That's why I know exactly what you mean in the video. The M3 V8 is a legend!
Washed mine yesterday after a month of not driving... It looked mint and sounded so good. It's a special occasion everytime I take it out (eventuri helps).
13 year old car and it still turns heads.
The engine is a masterpiece and the M-DCT compliments perfectly.
Cheers for the video 😊
Nice! Need an eventuri! Nice to see so much love for the car
Do you keep it on a trickle charger when not driven for that long?
@@TheExotich1 I charge it periodically... When it.was really cold last year I left on charge but normally once every few weeks if I haven't used it. They do seem to have a thirst for electricity when sat unused.
Still miss my E92 M3 6sp, sold it for a small profit at the time to buy our first house. Went through numerous cars in the past few years but nothing gave the same feels, the vibration with the eisenmann exhaust and manual shifting is unbeatable. The leather they used back then was pure luxury. I've moved on to a 2013 F30 328i, 2015 F16 X6, 2013 Cayenne GTS, 2015 Abarath, 2016 F82 M4 and now a 2017 F86 X6M. Interestingly enough, the 2013 Cayenne GTS NA V8 with hydraulic steering in sport mode feels VERY much like a E92 M3 but with a very bad transmission. When I can afford a second car for the weekends, E92 M3 6sp comp 09+ is first on my list.
M3 e92 the legend. We all gonna come back to this video in 2040s with that feeling of good old days, being alive through golden era of cars is something special. Thank you God, that we were able to drive cars of 80's 90's and 00's.
A fantastic production, well done SCD. Shot really, really well and the presenter was very well measured, passionate without going overboard. I totally agree on the attainability comments you made. Keep up the great work 👌🏻
Had my e92 m3 for 7years now. Such an all round awesome car
me too, the E92 M3 is the most special M3 for me.. great choice my friend, I completely agreed to the points that you've made... great video... 👍🏼
Thanks for sharing
1st time subscriber and boom... my numero uno M3 💯🇿🇦
Welcome aboard!
Ive given yself time until the 25th December of 2025 to own one of these cars for myself.
Its my absolute dream car and once I will own one, it will not be sold ever.
Just a masterpiece, I just stumbled across this video and it just brings tears to my eyes, the passionate way you talk about the car.
You are expressing the feelings I expect myself to have once I will own it 🥺.
Keep up the great stuff ! ♥
I personally own an e92 m3, this vid serves to remind how special of a car this is. Spot on!
Still my dream M3 to this day.
And rightly so!
Just copped one
E90 manual is still one of my dream cars
We had a manual comp pack, but the DCT is such a sweet box
@@scd Oh yeah DCT gearbox is good, the blips it makes when you change down is awesome, I just like the idea of rowing through the gears with that V8 singing
Love this video. I purchased an e90m3 slick top this year and love it. Your original M3 video encouraged me as well. Now a CSL e46m3 is next on my list
Great to hear!
Hanging onto my E93 M3 for life
This engine disserved to be in the E46 M3, would have the ultimate machine.
I think it belongs where it is, big respect for E46 but E92 is significantly better IMhO.
Was a little too young to own the E92 when it came out. But I feel the same way about the my 2022 Cayman GTS 4.0 it’s available to anyone not being a GT product and it is very attainable to anyone if you work hard enough. 7800 redline rear wheel manual na motor that I enjoy sooo much.
I've squeezed an S65 , box and rear diff into a Merc 190e....It's such an amazing engine.
Have owned my 2011 E92 M3 since new, all the right maintenance done, supercharged, all the right upgrades for OEM+. Have enjoyed all 131k miles and it still runs like it did brand new. 12 years later and it still snaps my neck and gives me a smile from ear to ear when I drive it. It’s a special car, I’m not selling it.
I'm so close to pulling the trigger on a supercharger for mine 😁.
I am lucky to owe this car currently and every time I drive it, it puts a smile on my face. So understated but a timeless shape that will stay classy for the rest of time.
It is aging so well!!
It’s my goal to own one of these in the next few years. Currently in a 22’ Hyundai Elantra N-Line, sporty reliable daily driver, to replace my broken e90 335i (first car), but e92 M3 is planets away special.
This was such a good review and I felt your passion for the M car. Having owned an E46, E92, F80 and a G80 M3, I can comfortably agree that the E92 M3 comp is the holy grail. Yes they're slow in today's world, but they just do it for me.
Why thank you 🙏
Another insanely high quality piece of content! Well done all!!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed.
8 years into my comp pack. Still love it. Great combo of a decent chassis, comfy place to be on long drives, and an epic engine. They really hit the spot with this one. Last hoorah for na M engines.
Couldn’t agree more 🙌
Huh? This car MISSED the mark in EVERY way!!!
@1SIK335 you can't make your 335 better than that without having the turbochargers intervention and thousands of dollars poured into mods and it still lacks M handling
Greetings from Australia. It is one of the big surprises of You Tube that you only have 200k subscribers. Great content. Well done.
Great video and couldn't agree more. I daily drive my E92 M3 6MT Competition during the fair weather months, and it truly is one of the most engaging, enjoyable, and special cars to spend time with. I am coming up on 190,000 miles, and even at such a high mileage, the S65 feels sharp, lively and responsive. I've also owned an E39 M5, E46 M3, and currently also own a manual E60 M5 as well. While those three are all fantastic and special cars (ESPECIALLY the E60) The E92 is what I'd call the ultimate 1car enthusiast solution.
E39 M5 and E60 M5 are both super unique fantastic cars. But I do agree, the E92 is the best of the bunch. I owned one for almost 5 years.
The V8 M3 is number one M3 and i agree what you are talking about!What a nice video!Cheers mate!👍👍👍
Great video. Seen a few from you on these but never subscribed until now. For those who don't track their car or nail it 90% of the time, try an E93 M3. You get the best of both worlds. I went from an E92 M3 Competition to an E93 M3 and haven't looked back! You get to experience that glorious soundtrack with the roof off, it is absolutely epic!
Thanks for the sub! Never considered an E93! Off to the classifieds we go….
@scd nothing beats hitting 8k on a hot summers day, with the roof down, coupled with a 2 pipe mod 🙃 with the euro trips you guys do, e93 would be insane!
Solid content, solid channel. Loving all of the videos genuinely
I bought one of these in lockdown a couple of years ago. It followed an e36 M3 3.0, which I loved. It’s epic, it is manual and maybe I should have got the DCT?
This year I was meant to sell it to buy windows and a heating system for our house. It’s cold but the M3 is still here! Thanks for the Christmas present video!
Pleased to hear it! Can’t drive a house can you 🙌
E9X ftw, great video as always 💪😎
You know it! Thanks for making them sing 💥
Thank you for this, definitely my dream car; and as you wisely put it, the most important factor is that it is attainable.
Oh it sure is!
First video from your channel what I've seen and I have to say that I just love your cinematography!!!
I am your new follower...
Super cool video. Thank you. Can’t wait to own a e90 four door. I like the look. Keep up the great work to you and your team
This video randomly came up in suggestions, watched most of the M3 E92 videos, As the E92 M3 is one of the cars i have always loved. Got to say, This video the way its filmed, the angles, the music, The line of this car is obtainable, Just wow. prob one of the best videos and narrators I have seen,
Glad you enjoyed the video! Lots more to come in 2023!
Another really good video about an M car for Christmas!
Thanks guys and merry Christmas from Italy 😊
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it
Yes I have one 2012 M3 with 213,000 miles, got it new. Best $ 87,000 ever spent.
A good review so thanks for this.
fantastic production as always!
Thank you 🙏
E92 M3! Love my white 2012 e92 M3. It’s stock and has the comp package. Owned it for 4 years now, and I never get sick of it. It’s still so beautiful and definitely gets looks with thumbs up as if it just came off the show room floor.
You've mentioned one very important point,
In the past, sport cars were not cheap but still they were atteignable
now prices have gotten completely out of hands
Although still not for these!
E90 M3 6MT … just bought one this week and I love it. It feels like a complete car while not the best at anything inside or out it is simply awesome to drive in every way. Sort of understated in a good way any subconscious expectations are exceeded! Seats and clutch are better than I expected while the shifter might need some improvement. I like it the way it is in terms of power. My 718 scratches that torque itch on other days ✌️
Best M3 ever.
Agree, owned a DCT comp pack car from new, absolutely love it, perfect amount of everything for the road and like you guys I am never selling it
Pleased to hear it. Love that, go you!
How are you not at 500k subs yet? The quality and content of your vids are top notch.
Not sure?! Send help 😂📈
I can’t believe this channel is still under 200k. It deserves at least 1M by now.
We’re hitting it hard in 2023! Thanks for the sub
Great video, lucky I bumped into the channel (yes, sub'd now). Had my E90 comp pack for 9 years this December. Only car, daily isch. Still love it.
Welcome aboard!
Absolutely stunning video,Thanks and yes I love my M cars you’re absolutely right 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Glad you enjoyed it!
Quality production, fantastic car. I have a 2013 car in Santorini blue and absolutely love it! 👍🏻
What a colour! 😍
Great video. Solid rear subframe bushings are essential imo as its very floaty at the rear out the box.
We’ve had that done too! So planted and tight now
Such a fantastic video! Thanks
Glad you enjoyed it!
Awesome vid. Love my E92 M3. Never ever selling!!
Same here!
Great video! I sold my 2009 e-92 m3 about 6 months ago…I’m already looking for another. The S-65 is like a musical instrument. Miss it sooooo much.
Had one in space grey like that. Great balance and sound. Light on torque.
This was the first car ever drove on the German auto on in 2011. It was a life changing experience! 😁
I had a E92 ///M3 and it has been my favorite car so far.
I have a 2012 competition pack and carbon pack which I bought from the dealer. All three years I’ve tried so many different cars, F80, F80 comp, F80cs, M2s, GiuliaQ, C63s, and the list goes on… despite being more potent cards, my M3 always has a special feeling which I don’t find in all these other cars… so grab one while it’s still affordable (that are already rising, especially in continental Europe). I also own a 335i N55 cabrio with a stage 1 tune and DCT box, and while it’s a great car and a great engine (much more torquey), the S65 is a master piece … so to all fanatics of N54/N55… run and grab the M, believe me! FANTASTIC VIDEO! Thanks for giving the E92 M3 the place it deserves! And Merry Christmas 🎉
It deserves all the love! We have just bought another non comp pack with 31,000 miles to nurture and tweak. Would have a barn full of them if we could 😂
This is one of the ultimate cars of all time, in hundred years time when combustion engines are dead there will be so much nostalgia about these cars.
I used to own one of these when they first came out. Heavily criticised by the keyboard warriors for having a V8- I reckon it’s a brilliant car! One of the best charismatic M cars ever made.
Agreed! One of the all time greats
Damn this just makes me want to go out and buy one 😂 Beautifully shot driving footage here
what a great landscape
Every time I consider selling mine I just watch this video again, then go for a drive and the notion leaves me 😅
Good ! Don’t do it
Well put! My fav M3💯
Thanks for watching
What a glorious sound ⚡🔥
Epic isn’t it?!
You have a new subscriber!!! Space grey e93 m3 love her to bits !!!!
Great video! I own myself a E92 M3 and can only say: What a great car! That engine always put a smile on your face!
Couldn't agree more! Enjoy it
Does it put a smile on your face when the bearings take a shit prematurely? 😆
@@hellfire08My M3 only has 67’000 km and so far it’s been pretty reliable. Warming up properly a high revving engine is vital. If you respect that the car will respect you.
@@irr_M3 He’s just jealous to leave a remark like that 😂
There’s not to many cars that beat the e92 M3 for that price that gives such connection to a driver
Too me it's the best //M car ever...the sound and driving experience just extraordinary👍
You’re bang on! Thanks for watching
E92 M3 forever!
Incredible video!
Thank you 🙏 pls subscribe for more
Favorite M3
What amazing car! Simply legendery
Purchased a F80 M3 in March of 2021 and honestly I love it. However I am considering selling it to get into a E92 M3. Nothing compares to the streamlined body lines, the sound and that V8.
Nothing comes close!
I obsess over this car since the day it came out.
The insight on the obtainabiliy is spot on. This car is just about in reach and one day I'll own one.
Get it bought! One of the best 🙌
@Supercar Driver Counting down the days my friend. Hope it doesn't get too popular that it becomes unobtainable 😉
Amazing video! I love my frozen silver edition 2012 E92 M3. Exhilarating moments of every 33500 miles 😊
The best!
My all time fav M3. Owned 2 of them miss them all the time
