In a way I will agree, some in my area up here in TC MI be lucky enough to be born with a silver spoon in their mouth. Next thing ya know an at least decent job gets handed to them at a young age. Seen it a lot around me and at the high school I attended.
This is totally accurate. I worked at a Wendys for 3 years, age 16-19. I developed a deep hatred for customers during that time. To this day, now 46, I still think customers are the worst people.
i was working "there" for 3 years of my life, i was completely destroyed. Couldn't sleep at night, extremely bad diet, no social life, days were like minutes because everyday you do the same shit. I couldn't hold it anymore and I just quit. I was thinking there can't be anything worst then that. 5 years later I can still say there is literally nothing worst then working in fast food
I worked at McDonald’s when I was 16 years old. I remember my arm constantly getting burned by oil splashing from the grill. I told my supervisor about it and requested to work cashier/drive-thru. Then a 50 year old lady co worker rolled up her sleeve to me showing burn scars and telling me to stop being a baby. These establishments don’t care about you and you’re just a number to them. Do what you have to do to make ends meet, but always be striving for more in life.
It was more soul crushing and draining than simply learning a valuable skill was? Is that literally the decision you made? Reading a book was more difficult than working in fast food is what you are telling me?
@@quan-uo5wsno but he’s right, how the fuck does someone make the decision to last 2.5 years at those jobs and not invest in making a small business or something idk offering a service or selling food gaining way more money, instead of that he didnt do anything. This video is liar, sensationalist and extremely exaggerated. This video tries to give the impression that working in fast food is hell on earth, being that it is one of the best unskilled jobs there is, I worked in fast food for two years in the United States, my salary was 220 dollars a day, and that was great for me! The only ones who complain are bums who don't like working.
I worked in so many fast food chains before getting my actual job, i fell into depression. It was the worst depressing shit I’ve ever gone through. Respect to all the people who work there.
Bro, I feel you. My situation is different because I had the depression primarily and had to take any job to earn some money - and for now I'm working at food chain (for 3 years now). Working there is hard, working here while being depressed is superhard. Hope your life is better now. I'm seeking a different job currently.
Amen. And I am always behind that guy in line who doesn't know the menu and has to figure out what size fries he wants or which kind of happy meal. I always figure out my order in advance if it's a short line (I won't get on it because I won't be ready) or if it's a long line I have time to work it out. Don't be that person who can't make up their mind with 10 people behind you on line.
When I was a student, I worked for 4 years at a Russian McDonald's, which was the largest in the city. My managers were good people who thought I was a good employee. I didn't have many problems with customers at the restaurant, but one day my colleague was hospitalized after being beaten by drunken assholes. But working at the drive thru was one of the most difficult moments and is most realistically shown in this video. It's been 4 years since I quit there. I have a good job, but I still have night dreams where I work at McDonald's, and people scream at me from everywhere.
By Russian McDonald’s do you mean the one in Moscow? If so, I actually went to that one when it first opened in the early 90s. It was such a trip. We haven’t seen anything like that growing up in the communist Soviet Union.
@@wolfbyte3171 that’s true, they have something very similar to McDonald’s with similar menu except that they named it something else. I can’t think of a name. But when I went to the very first one that ever opened in Soviet Union back in 1990-1991 (not sure the exact year) the line was about 6 blocks around the building. My mom brought me there, I was a kid. At the time there was no drive through. I am not sure if they added drive through later or not.
Fuck that. I did everything in my power to avoid that shit. Army to Tower climber toWind Turbine Electrical Technican to High Voltage Lead to Site Manger making six figures without a degree. Worked with some brain deads and some felons. Most usually making at least $30/hr. Not even that difficult of work. Some people Definitely were made to work at Mackys but hate to see the ones with potential feel trapped their.
I’m really not trying to judge or be rude, but why would you stay in fast food for that long?? I know not everybody is cut out for it, but an able-bodied man can get a job laboring in some kind of construction making double (or more) than working fast food. Sure, the work isn’t easy, but you don’t have to deal with customers… AND you can learn on the job if you show you want to. Construction companies are always looking for help. Even as a grunt with no knowledge, you can start out making at least decent money..

Whos fucking who, whos pregnant, whos back stabbing who ect. Never again would I ever go back to customer service.
Every job has the same bullshit. Who is pregnant, who has menopause, who has quit the job, who called in sick but was seen in the city and so on.... I hear that everyday at work and I dont work in fastfood....
Well, for things going both ways, fortunately the local McDonald's where I live is really nice. I'm kindof a regular there, they seem to really appreciate having me there and I enjoy going.
I think that honestly says more about a lot of the people working fast food. I remember my friend at BK always had the best (most dramatic) stories about her colleagues showing up high, yelling at the manager, fighting each other lol. Meanwhile I just worked in some random shop and all my colleagues were super tame
@user-vi9zm5ss4fWell said bro. I worked retail customer service for 5 years so I too know what it’s like and still came in with my best attitude every day. I remembered working at McDonald's 10 years ago and this is really spot on. You had a customer complaining about some minor bullshit and people literally asking for stupid stuff. One time I saw a customer actually threw a fries to one of the staff because it looked like there weren't enough. You have some immature customers coming in from time to time. Few days are good and majority of the days can be a real pain. I once saw a customer who refused to pay and something similar happened to one of the girl that worked at McDonald's. She literally had a drink thrown at her.
and the thing is you cant complain or not do anything abt it or then the karen will get angry and throw a fit leaving 1 star review and trying to make you get fired
Never understood why those vermin never get banned from theses establishments. If I had the power there to ban these idiots I would without hesitation, that would make people want to come to your place much more because they know your place doesn't torelate this kind of behaviour. I worked at mc dons for a year. Crushed my soul and weakened my sympathy towards people. Even when you’re genuinely trying to help someone and being nice, they’ll still blow up and treat you like shit. Its like being in an abusive relationship but you rely on it to live. People don’t like that grocery stores and fast food places are having self check outs, but no one wants that job at mc dons unless it’s their first job like it was mine
Since I became disabled I've been amazed by the kindness of fast food staff. I'm always told that my order will be brought to me and often I'm fast tracked to the front of the queue. I never ask for these things, I'm always happy to wait my turn and carry my own stuff so it's touching to realise there really is so much kindness out there in the world. Many thanks to all the people out there who have so much goodness in their hearts.
If you work in a fast food place such as McDonald’s you will understand why mistakes can be made and to never treat employees poorly - it really teaches you to have empathy
I worked in call cwnter and still have a customer service role, althought not so bad and yes, working in customer service makes you more empathic and nice as a customer.
Worked at Mcdonalds for almost 4 years, everything in this video brought back memories, especially the coupon part. Any of you guys working fast food and wanting to get out, trust me and do it. The shit ain't worth your mental health and I guarantee there's better jobs out there.
There really ARE better jobs out there right now. I live in a very small, rural town in NE Ohio and I can rattle off 5-6 Construction companies within a half hour drive of me just looking for people to at least SHOW UP consistently starting at like $20-$25 an hour (at minimum). $20 an hour isn’t anything in Cali or on the East Coast, but it’s a great starting pay in a small Midwest town. Companies in places like Cali are probably paying $35+ an hour just to start out with no experience!!
I used to work as a taxi driver. Although the vast majority of passengers were good, it's the bad ones that ruin it. Plus bosses who don't care about you and disgruntled colleagues.
I worked customer service at target when I was straight out of highschool and honestly while the people sometimes gave you a tough time, I transitioned into the blue collar construction world and I long for the days of having to deal with grumpy customers because the shit I do now makes that shit look like a walk in the park 😂 y’all are complaining about these jobs but compared to some other jobs people have where you’re quite literally risking your life/serious injury on a daily basis, that shit is a breeze.

Thats awesome but do realize that not everyone has the opportunity to do what you did. We'd all be better off if even lower wage jobs are respectable and a good place to work. The issue i see is management of these fast food places put profits above anything else and that tends to promote the worst kind of managers. Employees tend to look much more happy in local restaurants and smaller chains that tend to balance profits with other things

it's funny, i've done customer service my whole life, retail/food and tech support, and i can totally relate, but one exception is when i was driving an icecream truck. for some reason the experience and customer base is way different when you are the one that comes by with random icecream, and literally everyone is happy to see you. that was my favorite job ever, but impractical these days with the cost of gas.
Most people aren't really like that, but the ones who lack empathy the most are the ones who usually have to call customer service in the first place instead of figuring something out themselves
@@padarousou I imagine you also tend to get a bad selective (!) view of humanity because your interactions may generally be more negative, or alternatively not always but the bad ones just stick in memory. If that makes sense. TL;DR: You remember/rant about the bad experiences more.
Tbh figuring something out yourself can take a long time. I worked in fast food for 3 years. Started from a simple crew member up to a general manager. It helped me gain a sense of realization of what all fast food employees struggle with dealing with the public and it also taught me to NEVER be impatient with fast food people or rude with them. Granted, I never have been due to social anxiety but once you're in their shoes, you gain a totally new perspective. I will never work fast food again if I don't have to. It truly humbles you.
I started to work in Burger King about 1.5 month ago. My general manager is 21, same age as me. I always treated workers with respect but this experience is a whole another level you know. People constantly send back criticism because the burger misses an onion or something while there is 6 different meals which has special requests that needs to be done. Do you have any tips ?
It teaches humility alright. I ended up in fast food after I lose my construction job of 10 months. I was only 19, the pay was nearly half of what it used to be in construction, so it really hurt my ego. I thought that work was below me in spite of my very poor work experience. Quickly learned to appreciate my experience in fast food, and that brought me a sense of fulfillment
10 min wait is the max acceptable time to wait also customers dont think about when its busy and still moan about the wait like can u not see theres loads of customers waiting for their food and loads of cars in the drive thru theres orders ahead of you we dont care if you only ordered one thing
Fast food is one place I will never go to. I'll sucl up to retail but not fast food. I couldn't deal with the pressure of handling food for customers. I already get to see it as a customer myself. I can not imagine being the employee!

That influencer one got me so hard dude. While I worked at Burger King, some absolute numbnuts walked in and had a hype man just like that. He wasn't filming or anything, but he acted like a total narcissist. He got upset that our keto option was basically anything without a bun and sauce. Then his hype man stayed at the counter for a second and started telling me that people just don't get him, he's just so much more advanced than us as we all have a lot to learn from him. He proceeded to film his friend for a vlog or something while he ate a grilled chicken with a piece of cheese on it. They seemed to act like they were from a different planet. The most relatable thing is the drive thru in my opinion. If you're going through drive thru, know what you want and make your order relatively fast while making it as accurate as possible. The last thing we want is to have you ordering a meal for the entire bloodline, saying "ummm" for five seconds after every order, then a pile of cars stacking behind you because of how long it's taking. Not only is it better for you since you get your food faster, it's better for the employee, and the people behind you waiting.

The video could have ended with the first drive thru clip. Instead, you continued to hit home run, after home run, after home run. Flawless execution. PTSD triggered. Thanks for really showing what its like. I've never ever seen it conveyed so clearly and accurately. Even if the fast food employees fuck up or straight up suck at making my experience nice, I can't bring myself to bring it to their attention other than literally missing items I paid for. I've been there and understand how rough it can be. Glad I'm not there anymore. Then I watched life of a warehouse worker and felt like this channel walked around filming me for a day. I traded one misery for a slightly better one.
I worked in Mcwages as well for 4 months, and let me tell you... even if you dont want to you really start to hate on the customers, from the annoying overly loud teenagers inside the store to the karens the boomers and the obnoxious dude bros in their car in the drive thru. The reason you hate them is not because they are loud or annoying, its because without realizing it they slow you down during work. There is a lot of pressure to get things done quickly, even more so at the drive thru, and the last thing you want is a bunch of people who are not ready to order pulling up to the window : Me: Hello what can I get you. Customer: Uuuuuummmmmm.... hmmmmmmmmm? Like dude... there was a queue to get to the order window and you had to wait like 10 minutes and you still havent made up your mind???!!! That was a massive problem mostly because we were almost always understaffed meaning if you worked in the drive thru or at the front counter chances are your help was very much needed elsewhere as well. But over all it was ok, I had a 30 min break and a free meal to go with it and the overwhelming majority of the people that worked there were very good, honest and hardworking, including most of the managers who actually stuck up to the staff whenever we were in the right.
I worked there for a year and that part was so frustrating. So many regulars show up and have no idea whats on the menu when their ass is there every day

Eating there proves you’ve given up all hope
NO they shouldn't, young people need to wake up and start their own businesses early. They need to realize they have voted these jobs into existence. So abuse is warranted, except when the elderly are driven back to minimum wage jobs because of inflation, again because of shitty voting decisions of other people.
I always try to be super helpful and polite to any waitress and stuff and give a good amount of pourboire no matter the cost of the order. You guys are INCREDIBLE and you deserve a lot of respect!!
I worked in a regular restaurant and I totally relate to some of this stuff. Most customers are okay from my experience, but it's that 3-5% of customers that make it a shitty day for you. It all comes down to the type of people living in the comunity in which the fast food place is located. Some comunities have more assholes than others. When I worked retail I was in a great comunity and had many good memories but then when I worked retail in a bad comunity doing the same jib I had many bad memories simply because the customers there were different, they were less polite and we even got robbed once.
As an ex fast food worker I can relate! Got trashed by my fellow co workers & the customers!. The mental battles I had to put up with was crazy!!!. One time I had a customer hold up an drive thru line for about almost an hour because she complained about not having enough money! 😑 and made it a huge deal so bad the whole restaurant had to get involved.
Finally a story with a wholesome ending. Instead of Wojak just going "it is what it is," he instead takes action and takes matters into his own hands. Even if this is fictional, it's very true to real life. Things aren't gonna get better automatically, you need to act.
Yeah, stay in school or learn a trade. Atleast have a plan. There are enough jobs out there. But of course for some people the struggle is real and they have no other choice.
As a french person, I work in Burger King since 1 year. It's a small restaurant and it's not as horrible as other restaurant we can imagine. The reason you hate them is not because they are loud or annoying, its because without realizing it they slow you down during work. Fast food workers are built different. Id rather be dead than work at a fast food chain.
Srry to hear that bruh. I hope you are now better situated.
@frankwalker3362 definitely. For the most part. I work in IT, I may get some odd client/customer encounters but it's surely 100000x better than what MCDs has thrown at me
Why was it so bad?
leaving mcdonalds was the best decision in my life
I just finished binging all the Low Budget/No Budget/Zero Budget/Lord Wojak episodes . I was wojak. Maybe worse, the ugly arrogant wojak. Now Im about to graduate college in a STEM field, with a gf who doesnt have an OF, and a brotherhood of close friends. I knew there was something up, a switch that hadnt been flipped correctly at that time, but I could have never guessed so many people experienced the same ride of loneliness, jealousy, and hopelessness. These videos are gold and a modern day classic. Nothing is permanent. God bless
You've won in life.
Okay, but why though
Similar story. I was arrogant and ugly as well, rejected by girls I’d pursued for years. I’m a STEM grad student at an engineering school with a loyal, loving GF. Remember, nothing in life matters if it isn’t done in servitude and reliance on God, through Jesus Christ. Happy you’re doing well.
@@SalvationIsInChristAlone How are you so sure she's loyal?
Is that really the apex of your existence? Have fun lol
this is exactly what i had to deal with today and i’m afraid i’ve been doing this for a while now, im at my lowest point mentally and this is precisely what happened at my mcdonald’s today, the shitty manager, the karen, the stoner kids, im stuck in this low income job and it’s torture. It’s hell no one understands, Today i got yelled at because i forgot to put sauce in the bag
bro iam 20 been at mcdoanlds foe 8 months and its run by all mexicans which i dont mind but they all yell at me and then customers add on to it and no iam not mexican
@@kj_usa2987quit that shit, become a warehouse slave instead.
Hope you guys can at least get a break of it this weekend. Have a Nice day today 🙏🏽
It is mental torture and it isn’t right. I recommend you surround yourself with beauty, truth and goodness. Christian faith really helps with this. There is a redemptive quality in your suffering. But also, you have to surround yourself with beauty and goodness, because ultimately you become what you surround yourself by. The way people are treating you is NOT right, you should seek sane people. And please start a business, at the very least you’ll be in charge of yourself, and I’m sure you know if you were in charge things would be run better. So just do it!!
Really study hard so you're not there for life
I used to be one of those employees as a maintenance worker at a McDonald’s years ago. But now I am a dishwasher at an assisted living center now which is a much easier job.
Me too and I think that is the best position they offer. Sure we did the dirty work but not dealing with customers or food was bliss. As a introvert I also enjoyed never talking to coworkers 😂 Only negative was if somebody puked we had to clean it or when you're off and people just fuck the dumpster area up because they're too lazy to lift trash into the dumpsters so they just toss it on the ground sometimes making bags rip. I don't miss it at all
@@Openup0911 I rarely talked to my co workers either and one asshole manager that used to work there before I left told me to keep working if I talked to a co worker. He even tried to fire me one time if I don’t sing at the restaurant’s karaoke event they had to celebrate the new building’s grand opening. I dealt with like three customers while I was cleaning. So glad I’m out of there too.
I found my introvert people let's be friends!
I can relate I was a maintenance inventory guy myself but I also had to help out in the kitchen so I did a little of everything. Without us the place would fall apart quickly as I discovered all too often. Luckily I do something better for work with better pay at a different company now.
Does it pay you more than your previous job?
I'm a pharmacist I basically do this work with decent pay.
The yes/no answer to a question requiring a non yes/no answer always makes me die a little inside.
@freshfalls
Happy meal orders are actually terrible.
"Hi can I have a happy meal"
"Yes sir, what kind of happy meal?"
"Just a happy meal and and apple juice and that'll be all"
*Drives off*
Then the dude gets to the window and complains I didn't get his order.
@@skyj2172many of us have chosen not to eat the poison and have no idea how the menu system works. Why would you expect us to have all the little answers and why do you care if the order is correct at min. wage

A) Because the menu is right there
B) I care because I don't feel like getting yelled at for getting an order wrong.

Also, no one is forcing you to eat said "poison".

I personally believe that fast food employees are one of the biggest contributors to society.
Agreed. They are providing such a valuable service. It would be nice if more people recognized what they are doing and acted with an equal amount of respect.
@@iwanttolearnjapaneseyes they are serving poison food and increasing inflation by voting for min wage increases and don't have the guts to apply for something better... we should respect these people. Generational Entitlement and these are supposed to be our upcoming leaders.
In what way are fast food outlets providing a positive contribution to society though? Their main business is selling unhealthy food.
@@iwanttolearnjapanese serving the elite
Man, mad respect to all the fast food workers. Make sure to treat them like humans., a please and thank you goes a long way.
I love how the employees in the background are drained from emotions there, just walking zombies so funny 😂😂
I felt so bad for Josh getting bullied. I've seen it happen too many times. Glad it turned out alright.
the way to make it turn out alright is to hit the gym a bit and then meet the guy in the parking lot outside after shift... where does all this victim mentality come from?

The most affecting part was the look of sadness and subtle devastation when his phone notified him of the start time of his shift. Everything he has faced, and would need to face, washed over his soul in that moment.

I used to work as a food delivery man, and while I was waiting for an order at a Mc to be prepared, an employee was respectfully telling for two customers to be patient and wait for their turn, but they got really angry and threatened to beat him up waiting for him after his shift get over. I felt really bad for him, but there was nothing I can do, cause these customers were really scary
