Teaira Walker i remember when I went to work back in 2014 with my big chop , I thought it was sexy and edgy , everyone kept asking me was I sick Because I shaved my head Smh , once my hair grew out I loved the way Bantu knots looked on me but I always asked myself “why can’t this be a style “😫, It wasn’t popular then so I scared to do it .. so glad this style is poppin
I used to do this all the time as a teen to "stretch" my hair before I even knew what stretching hair was. And we called these "chiney bumps" too lol. Think that's a Caribbean thing tho. I could never wear it out the house, I look like Crazy Eyes from OITNB but you actually look so fire, classy and beautiful with it!
Giiiiiirl YES! I needed this tutorial! Being on lockdown has me wanting to be in as many protective hairstyles as possible! I love this and can't wait to try! 💞
You’re so stunning! I did this on my channel but using braids. This technique is definitely more smoother because the fiber blends into your hair more. Beautiful results!!
Delete that thought. We all have it, just in different levels. Even if you was joking. Only speak positivity. Not trying to come off rude. If I am I apologize.
Teaira, you are my hair “GOALS”! When this quarantine went down, my hair stylist was going to install the big long plaits you had in your hair on a video, that you had in a high bun, with some hanging down to frame the face. So I cannot go to my stylist, so I have a new wig, so I cut the lace off, washed it and conditioned it, and when I put it on my head, the part and edges need to be plucked. The shade is natural, so I need to dye it. And I’m not used to doing any of that, so I told my niece today that I was thinking about doing Bantu knots again. I’ve tried them before, it came out So-So, and then I got notified of this video! God is GOOD.! This is really helping me, I used bobby-pins the last time I tried Bantu knots and it wasn’t cute enough to endure the pins digging into my scalp! Leaving my edges out is a excellent tip I’m definitely using. Shoot I am putting this on my Facebook page, because I have the feeling I might want to learn how to do some stuff myself! My eyebrows look so bad right now, but I always get them done! I did a doctors appointment using Zoom, and I am sure he was 😮 shocked! I had a satin cap on, No Makeup, 😂. Thank you Teaira, stay Safe!
This is a great protective style I think. Ends tucked away and easy take down which means more length retention. I think I might go head and try this. Thank you.
I’m one month away from graduating and they didn’t teach us about “edge control” in beauty school. I was wondering why the knots were loose at the base and now I know why. Omg thank you so much…🥺💗
I remember you posting this look on ig and I reposted the picture of you to my story because of how stunning you looked lol. I'm going to try this soon. Hopefully I can pull it off.
It's funny how fashion and back in the old days things come back today as HIGH TRENDY FASHION. I remember when kids would get laughed at back in the old dayz when going to school wearing their hair like this. Lol It's just funny yet remarkable ✨
I tried Bantu knots with my real hair for a heatless curl but I definitely want to try this style again with added hair for a bolder look. YOU DID THAT😯😍😍✨
Hey cutie! I’m Bantu 😂 Bantu is an African tribe that has other sub tribes spread across East and Southern Africa. I’m from the Xhosa sub tribe in South Africa. Your Bantu knots look so cute. 😍😍 and you’re so beautiful, been watching you for a couple of years now.
Thank you I love my natural hair. I want another way to wear it your tutorial is absolutely amazing. I will try to send you a pic of it when I do my own this week. Thank you again ❤️😊❤️
Aries nah Stephanie isn’t black, so she knows the times we live in. This is the absolute worse time to attempt that. Y’all are the people that set people up to be dragged then laugh or complain of black fishing. Smh.
Aries oh my, here comes Aries the white woman defender at large. you assumed a lot about her having a black husband. A lot black men assume African Americans don’t like people appropriating culture bc we’re jealous. No. Stealing culture is disrespectful and she understood that. Great job making about yourself. You really showed us.
@@blvckbulma8586 I completely see where you are coming from and agree with your point. My husband is black yes, and I would neeever try to wear black owned styles because it is culture appropriation, I disagree with anyone who says I can try any sort of style, lol I know exactly how that would pan out, I think I'm more sensitive to culture and I have more of an understanding than your average white girl, I have always been that way it's not because I'm with a black man, its simply because I have a deep understanding and learn about other cultures, I hear and see how black people are treated, how corrupt the justice system is against them, I could go on. And best believe I will be teaching my kids about these things as well. I was trying to find words to help people understand, not just whites but anyone who tries to adopt black trends/features without knowing how it makes black people feel, this article is perfect. "I think everyone is obsessed with black culture and the perks of being black-full lips, more curves, etc.-but they aren’t equally obsessed with finding solutions for the issues that befall black people," influencer and writer Spicy Mayo tells Glamour. "People and companies have created brands, careers, and campaigns from the black woman’s aesthetic and black culture. I don’t think white women singularly are obsessed with the Black aesthetic, I think the world is generally obsessed because black people really are tastemakers. this style is nostalgic. my mom and aunts used to do this style (without the weave) when they washed my hair and wanted it up and out the way. it was more of a in the house type of style. growing up with a jamaican background/family it was never called it bantu knots tho. the style came out sleek and cute :)

Yeh when everyone saw it on riri at the vma’s , Idk what year it was everyone wanted to try it after that.
