Alongside bomb's negative edge, bomb sliding them is the other difficult aspect of Carmine's execution. Being able to do bomb slides is an extremely important part of his gameplay that should definitely be learned. It might seem difficult and take some time to learn, but it is definitely doable! I never knew how to play negative edge characters let alone bomb slide before I learned how to play Carmine, but after enough practice I was able to do them! So if I can learn how to do it, so can you!

The real reason I started making these guides was to create more Carm players that I can steal tech from.
      (jk lol...or am I???)

Glad to hear that! With this guide done, I think I've covered all the basics of how to play Carmine!

@@KuronoOki If it's possible. How do you map your buttons for Carmine because I'm getting used to the B to C slide during combos (somewhat but consistent) but when it comes to doing C to B or during oki after 22C setup 214[A] and 214[B] I struggle with setting up the tk.236B while also trying to hold down the A and B or C

@@ipkmix2813 Layouts depend on what controller you play on. If you play on stick/leverless, the standard layout is usually
      A B C
      D
If you play on pad, it’s usually recommended to map either the A or C button onto one of the shoulder buttons so it’s easier to hold down a bomb.
Personally, I play on leverless and it’s pretty easy to hold down both buttons for bombs on it. Easier than on pad I imagine. Overall though, it’s recommended to find a layout that’s the most comfortable for you to hold down bombs. Some people even play claw grip on pad for him so use whatever is best for you. :)

I was expecting something completely different. The game calls it "Plinking"

Plinking is the more common fighting game term for the slide action needed to perform bomb slides. The last game did not call it that and actually called it "hold shift release" instead. Even though they changed it to a more relevant term, I opted to not call it plinking in the video as some players might not be familiar with the term. I also felt that "shifting/sliding" would be clearer to understand in terms of the actual motion needed to do bomb slides.

This may be ad nauseam but do you play on pad ?
And if so can you share how you bind your buttons, been contemplating learning carming and his neg edge / bomb sliding stuff been discouraging to say the least on my default mapping

I play on leverless so I can’t personally give a pad layout. What I always see recommended from pad players, however, is to map either the A or C button onto one of the shoulder buttons so it’s easier to hold down a bomb. Other than that, using whatever is the most comfortable for you to be able to hold/slide bombs is the best recommendation as there’s not a single “best” layout for Carm.

@@KuronoOki came back to say i been trying to learn Carmine these days after sticking with Chaos as i was learning the game, but now i changed my pad layout to be more comfy with bomb sliding
Still struggling in some aspects but its not as hard like you said once you get accustomed to it, and i owe that to your guide

@@Kardz6 Ayy that's good to hear! Yeah if your layout is comfortable now, you just need to practice doing them to get it down. Some of the more practical bomb slide routes really only use like one or two slides so you don't need to get crazy good at them if you don't want to.
