I love that they used this comeback to point out the misogyny in the world and industry on how they want women to look pretty and have nothing intelligent going on
I thought it was also because their countries don’t have a positive view on naked bodies. There’s recent Korean documentaries about it too, regardless if they’re men or women… to them it’s sexual content instead of art, health and beauty. Very unfortunate.
@@angelsantos8459 yes it’s made to point out many things
I love love LOVED the Marilyn references throughout the music video, especially the fact that every member had blonde hair too. For some reason, I couldn't keep my eyes of Shuhua, especially the part where she's wearing the green dress. The song itself has a deep meaning that I really appreciate and the mv is an absolute masterpiece
"Slightly dumb the way I talk but I have sexy sexy figure" When she said that part I knew it was about Marilyn because she always had to play the sexy dumb blonde both on and off set because that's what sold and all people cared for, even though she had much more to offer.
'A bookworm obsessed with philosophy, a self made woman' reference to Lorelei Lee in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes "I can be smart when it's important but most men don't like it" Lorelei is also known ti have a love for reading but tends to hide her thick glasses for the sake of looking pretty because that's what most people see her as anyways, for her body, so no matter what to people she's always Nude.
The last part of the song is my favourite part of the song and a very strong message in just one line "I'm born nude"
In all this is my new favourite song at the moment and my Top 1 (G) IDLE song.
GIDLE is better than bIackpink in so many levels but most kpop stans ignore real talent :(
@@sykosyko1523 You can praise a group without bringing one down
@@sykosyko1523 your comment it's ugly, think about what you comment
@@sykosyko1523 this is not about bp tho
It’s not about them wanting to be proud about being nxde, it’s about women not being seen just for their bodies but for who they are as people with intelligent thoughts do their own
They wanted to redefine the meaning of nude so that everytime you search up nude to see somthing explicit there song will come up instead with provoking lyrics. Like in the end they said i m born nude your just dirty minded.
They are also addressing one of the most reported crimes in south korea which is spreading of illegal webcams of women in illegal pornographic sites.
The song therefore is a huge step and i like the fact that they took the challenge to use their platform this way.
there's references to marilyn monroe- minnie in the pink dress at the beginning is a callback to her role in gentlemen prefer blondes, obv yuqi is dressed in a couple of her other iconic looks too like the white dress. soyeon wearing the cone/pointed bra top is a nod to madonna, and the art piece being shredded at the end refers to banksy. probably missed a few but those are the big ones i think 😊 they really knocked this concept and message out of the park!!!
And about the song, rhythm etc?? Soyeon talked about that? about “Carmen”? or not?
Im curious
@@NamiYGx
Yeah and there all blonde this comeback so I don't know if that reference to Marilyn Monroe or something
I also see the “lady marmalade” lil Kim part during soyeon rap part in the beginning of the song after the Marilyn Monroe part, am I the only one who see’s it?
Shuhua really stands out in this one✨️❤️this whole concepts is so cool
One of the great points of the mv is the title itself paired with the group name g-idle. The term "idle" is really similar to the korean word for children. So this in turn makes it more difficult for ppl to search for child p*ornogr*phy as this mv will come up more when they search "nxde" and "ch*ld". Doesn't stop it but there is a deterrence. There's references to Marilyn Monroe, Jessica Rabbit, Burlesque shows, etc. There's even reference to the famous anonymous artist Banksy with the shredding of the art at the end- he did that and it was a whole thing in the art community. I think this mv does great with commenting on the way nudity and women's bodies are viewed in different ways.
Miyeon really is too beautiful and her voice too
Gidle’s main vocal and visual
This CB is such a masterpiece and SO important. G-Idle's hangul Name 여자아이들 includes "아이들" which means "children". So whenever some sick ppl search up "children n_de", G-Idle's music video will appear instead
Kinda disappointed that many people didn't know where they based the "painting scene"😭😭 the goosebumps I had the first time I saw that scene! It's based on Banksy's Artwork!! Hope yall noticed that😭😭
At the beginning, "Lorelei" is the name of Marilyn's character in "Gentlemen Prefer Them Blonde"
Istg this song and mv are a whole damn masterpiece. unmatched.
Tbh i feel like this is a clapback to the entire industry. Like how very often female artists are seen as nothing more than sexual symbol. How theyre often more praised for their beauty and not their talent or atleast the very art/ music they produce
Yes, that is why they put references to Marilyn Monroe and many other artists, too.
The animated figure is Soojin 🥰🥰
You have to know the message of the song to appreciate it more
Let it grow on you
The chorus is a sample of Carmen which is a French Comic Opera by Georges Bizet and it is very famous and widely used so that's why it sounds familiar
the reference(sample) is from the classical piece, Carmen Fantasia(i think)
Yes, a little bit of Georges Bizet’s Carmen Habanera.
“How do I look?” You look good! -this was really fun to me
This is so damn good, and I love the burlesque as well as the references to legendary women. I'm not making any comparisons but this reminds me of the Lady Marmalade music video from back I the day (!) with Lil Kim, Pink, Christina Aguilera and Maya and Missy Elliott. (G)Idle queens hit the mark with this one!
oooo yes lady marmalade, good catch
I got some Moulin Rouge vibe.
I knew I wasn't the only one who got Moulin Rogue vibes
GITCHY GITCHY YAYA DADA HEY HEYYEYYYYY 🎶
@@calaveraboi Ayy! In my mind I'm seeing Pink kick that stool back. Sheesh!
Our Queens r back! Ppl need to understand, not every song needs to sound catchy, or need to have high notes or solid rap. The lyrics/message is the hero. This mv was more like a story/show than a song, can clearly c it’s Marilyn inspired, they
have managed to showcase that in a subtly & respectful manner. As the concept is about Marilyn inspired, so the song will also be in that tone(like dumb, sexy, looked down, judgemental still beautiful) not like tomboy or omg 2.0 version. Pls react to their I love album too. Each song is 💯. Loved ur reaction!
I LOVE GIDLE'S UNIQUE CONCEPTS SO MUCH!!! 😭 AND SOYEON'S LYRICISM!!!
The part where soyeon is in the glass box is a reference to how men "display" woman
bruhh my dad was watching the marlin Monroe movie on Netflix last weekend and now g-IDLEl did a comeback with a song on her honor, is just amazing!! G-IDLE RESPECT.
marilyn is tribute to soojin who that was her idol the girls never forget her esp bc the birthmark is under the marilyn character and that’s where soojin has her birthmark i loved this comeback 😭💗
Honestly they're the only idols who I prefer to call artists at this point
I WAS WAITINGGG the song is amazing
g-idle always has the best production mvs!!
The sample they used is from Carmen an opera from what I remember and yes they were heavily inspired by Monroe
Yess 🔥 gidle back with a fire comeback love your reaction!!!
The instrument that’s being used during the chorus is a violin but it is distorted in a way that’s why it sounds so familiar but different
I love that woman are seen as art to be looked at but the ending with the banksy shedding reference really says a lot. People gossip and care more about the body then the artist being “nude”. Shred the value people put on you.
It's a big critique of society, how it views women as sex objects, as well as the porn industry. It's really a risky concept and I applaud them for how well they developed it.
G idle is one of my favourite girl group... Amazing videos, voices and messages.
4:26 His bias is Wuqi definitely
Yooo i was hoping you guyz react to their cb!! Our girls are going hard af since Soojin departure. They're MAD! 🔥 LMAO. thanks guys. Nice to see you enjoyed it ❤️
What’s funny to me is miyeon shuhua and yuqi started their lines with “uuuh” going up idk what to call it and they said “I love her voice she always starts like that” for all threee 😭😂 their hair is similar too
Was wanting for you ☺️☺️😘
From the members and all the people involved in this concept, damn you deserve Grammys 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾
(G)I-DLE came back with such a bop! If you haven't, please react to Hoshi - Tiger!!❤
Queens of concepts are back!!!
There’s a lot of Marilyn Monroe references in the MV-as well as street artist Banksy-and I love that. There’s an episode of I live alone where Soyeon talks about Marilyn Monroe as an inspiration for their album.
they took many melody phrases from the opera “Carmen” by Georges Bizet
Concept slayers🔥❤️
I really like your Reaction about this Song, this really An Art❤️❤️
Yes that true that a work of art all of this new gidle concept and think you for give ve some details to I didn’t seen every time that what I watching of your video !!!!❤
amazing reaction as always
I love them so much even the fact that they included their ex member Soojin with the animations made me cry😭😭
the banski reference tho so good
Marilyn and Banksy references are nothing short of fantastic!
i still refuse to believe they bought a gilmore girls reference in this mv to "lorelai gilmore" cause that show raised me. Ilove it so much!!!
Cartoon Soojin warms my heart
u can’t tell me that animated character is not soojin
2:51 you look good!!! ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ개웃기다
This reaction is kinda funny because what it's pretty much what Soyeon is criticizing in the song
사랑해요 😘
SHUHUA ABSOLUTELY KILLED THIS ONE
So they made this song cuz people were saying they were to sexasul and gross so they made something different from all the other idols this is my favorite song rn
2:52 😂😂😂 You look GOOD!!
So the scene with Soyeon in the mirror is a reference to Madonna as for the rest, the end of the video states it's inspired by Marilyn Monroe and Banksy but it's at the last 2 seconds so it's hard to notice, overall the feminism that Soyeon brings to the table is unmatched, love her and love all the girls and the Soojin reference with the burlesque cartoon is the cherry on top 🍒💖💖
역시 K-pop 믿고있었어!
The references are from the recent biopic on Marilyn Monroe and the chorus's music is from the Opera "Carmen" ;) Great video, as always ^^
the violin and piano part is inspired by the great Gatsby i believe
этот клип такой же прекрасный, как и сами девушки.
i heard the song it was dope
2:30. am I the only or nah this song reminds me of the beginning of red velvet song ice cream cake
YEAAAAAA
Since you guys love Enhypen so much. I think you should react to Jungwon and Niki's Mix & Match on studio choom. It definitely shows off their talent when it comes to dancing with the different dynamics in the movements. Its also a dark concept which think suit them well especially Niki he seems possessed almost.
I think it would really benefit you to look into the lyrics and references in the song. As other comments have stated, it's sort of a commentary on how society views women and puts them into a position where they are sexualized and made to be dumb. It's a very well-written song and worth looking into a bit more. I think there is also a reason for the title with the "x" but I'm not sure.
That sound remind me a little bit of Stray Kids Circus
it's sampled from "Habanera"
2:30 if im not mistaken it's a refrence to carmen habenara
I came here so fast
THE MUSICAL REFERENCE IS "HABANERA"
Its a marylin Monroe concept :))
gidle is art

I know the medley that they play in the chorus but I just can't think the name of the actual classical song 😭
It's 'Habanera' from the opera Carmen
@@pabotube-idle ik i just found out

the part you said sounds familiar is Carmen i guess.
Guys you gotta Check out kep1er we fresh
That video is fire 🔥 😍 👌
the song is about over-sexualizing women, specially marilyn. the scenes relate to films shes been in, and how she was over-sexualized even thouh she was a smart person.
