  • Here is my tool bag would love feed back from more experienced guys or gals on what I should add or take out from my tool bag. One thing I didn't mention is that I have a separate tool bag with my wrenches in it for compressor repairs and installs.

For me , perfect size HVACR service bag. Not too beg to where I overload it and can’t carry it ! But fits everything I need .

I use the CLC Custom Leathercraft 1509 21-Pocket Zippered Professional Electricians Tool Pouch with almost the same layout, I added so 45 degree snips and strapped my meter a bit different but both pouches are amazing. They also leave me room to pack in a load more for my interesting jobs.

Nice tool bag man! Just so you know you actually already have Knipex. Knipex rebrands their cobras for sears. Made in Germany,100% identical!

Have had Knipex Cobra for years. Great with electrical and plumbing. Jaw geometry is well thought out for real life hex dimensions. Now at Menards.

thanks FoodTech Yeremy I appreciate the feed back I have already tried the wrench ones because another tech loaned them to me and they're freaking amazing. I just don't see myself dropping 40+ on a pair if I bought my extra wide for half that

Buy em once and your good to go haha. I bought the 3 piece set of amazon for like 160$ definitely expensive as shit but i do alot of gas work. For general stuff , the 6 inch gets the most use
other thought is also expensive but the wera lazer cut screwdrivers are also a life saver. My 11 in one milwaukee screw driver started to strip a philps and my #2 wera grabbed that turd and saved my ass from having to drill the head. They're way better than even snap-on screwdrivers.

Thanks Air Mechanical, I'm glad you like that idea. I got tired of having to buy gloves every so often to replace a good pair of glovesx.

Hey Jose, sheet metal apprentice here in San Francisco considering switching my apprenticeship to HVAC Service/tech. Seems like you made the same choice in your career, may I ask you the reasons why you made the switch? Pros & Cons? Any advice our thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

My main reasoning is when I got into the trade I was around service and I liked the problem solving aspect of it.
Pros of service is if you like workin by myself or one other person.
Getting my hands dirty on removing parts
A pro for me is being held accountable. It's only you out there most the time.
The drives and seeing different people almost every day.
Not as physically draining as it is mentally draining.
      Cons.
Not working with a solid crew.
Lots of walking and going up ladders.
      Mentally draining.
Theres more to this subject that I'll make a video for.

Thanks for the reply José, I look forward to the video. So service entails lots of driving?
