For India to be truly free, the states have to run their own show with their own resources. Central government monopolized by political parties from the Hindi belt is one of the biggest reason for corruption and backwardness of India.

India was supposed to be governed as a federation of autonomous states with only few activities like defense, communication, currency being governed centrally. This plan was known as the 1946 cabinet mission plan which was accepted by both Congress and Muslim League but vehemently opposed by business houses profiteering under the centralized British rule. Since Congress was being funded and controlled by these business houses it had to withdraw its consent to the cabinet mission plan. Withdrawal of Congress from the cabinet mission plan led to the demand of Pakistan and the partition of India. India itself was created by an act in the British parliament and not the wishes of the people of the subcontinent. 1947 was not independence but a transfer of power from the British to the allies of the British in the Indian subcontinent.

Our taxes are not only misused but also compounded by deeply unfair fiscal policies that disproportionately affect the South. The central government has ceased GST compensation to the states while continuing to collect GST Compensation Cess, even extending its levy until 2026. Bangalore was a part of both madras presidency and mysore kingdom. After 1950 when states were formed on the basis of language, the parts of Bangalore in madras presidency was given off to Karnataka and these barbarians want to push the original inhabitants out of their occupied city. Southern States should delink from the Central Govt divisible pool. First step in that direction is to move State Govt funds from Public Banks like SBI to Private Banks. 2nd step is complete decentralization, with the state deciding the freedom to invite investment from friendly countries, grants to take from foreign countries etc. You cannot let the central government lead you by the nose.

Please do your research on the Suryanelli case before dismissing it as a futile case where only one person was punished. A very bad HC judgment was taken to the Supreme Court with a lot of pain and collective effort and the HC order was struck down and the case was sent back to the HC to rehear the matter. The case was reheard and the new bench heard the appeal in detail and except for a few, all other convictions were upheld. I look upon it as a resounding victory for the women's movement for various reasons. Of course, p. j. Kurien's issue was a black spot. But he was not in the chargesheet tried by the trial court wherein special prosecutors were appointed

Delimitation based on population is not at all an issue. In US different states have different weigts for each vote cast. We can offer increased RS seats to southern states equal to the increase is LS seats for UP and Bihar. What is important is the collection of data by census on a war footing at the earliest.
It would be great to have a legal perspective on tax devolution. Can this be taken up with the courts so that other than defence,national security, the states get to decide on how to tax their boundaries and how to use that money. This is the best time as the BJP does not have a full majority as well as there are at least 5 states with problems with tax devolution.

After listening to Dhanya Rajendran's observations on the Suryanelli case, I'm very disappointed. Please do your research on the Suryanelli case before dismissing it as a futile case where only one person was punished. A very bad HC judgment was taken to the Supreme Court with a lot of pain and collective effort and the HC order was struck down and the case was sent back to the HC to rehear the matter. The case was reheard and the new bench heard the appeal in detail and except for a few, all other convictions were upheld. I look upon it as a resounding victory for the women's movement for various reasons. Of course, p. j. Kurien's issue was a black spot. But he was not in the chargesheet tried by the trial court wherein special prosecutors were appointed

Delimitation based on population is not at all an issue. In US different states have different weigts for each vote cast. We can offer increased RS seats to southern states equal to the increase is LS seats for UP and Bihar. What is important is the collection of data by census on a war footing at the earliest.
It would be great to have a legal perspective on tax devolution. Can this be taken up with the courts so that other than defence,national security, the states get to decide on how to tax their boundaries and how to use that money. This is the best time as the BJP does not have a full majority as well as there are at least 5 states with problems with tax devolution.
