PS - Since a lot of folks asked - I work anywhere between 10 to 12 hours daily on Deshbhakt - because this is my life / passion / purpose. However for the team its rarely more than 8 to 9 hours a day - and SUNDAYS ARE ALWAYS OFF - so that team can stare at wife / girlfriend. :))
I WISH these hours were lesser - (for myself and team) - this is nothing to brag about .... I have seen the health impact of long working hours ..... this is something we will focus on reducing further so that i don't have to stare at my editor all the time! ;)))))

I live in Australia and here if I work for more than 38 hours I’m paid 2x
If I work on Saturday, I get paid 1.25x
If I work on Sunday, I get paid 1.5x
If I’m called to work on Public Holidays, I’m paid 2.5x
Trust me companies try their best to not make us work for more than 38 hours a week and the productivity we have is better than our Indian counterparts working 70-80 hours a week.
I think quality of life makes a huge difference. The quality of life in an Indian city is more dismal compared to a city in a first world country.

That's an assumption. Yes there's inflation and pollution but if a Indian goes abroad things seem rosy but they are not. Not trying to argue but the sacrifices are way more than they seem. I'm not saying no maid and no proper food but being away from people you love and weather itself takes n a toll on your mental health.

I used to work with a Dutch company. All the Europeans were 100% committed to the 7.5 hours of work. No hours of discussion on politics or chai sutta breaks. Everyone leaves work at 4:30 pm sharp. Needless to say the quality of output was much better than the Bangalore office .
Even if 999 out of 1000 European waste 100% of time they will be praised endlessly. But if one brown or black guy out of 1000 is lazy the entire 1000 people will get bad reputation. When will this nonsense end? It is really silly.
Having worked for an established German Company at Germany and a unicorn startup in India, German productivity was bad compared to Indian companies. I'm not kidding.You just can't establish such generalized comparisons. Reality is you just get what you pay for. If you pay stellar, you get stellar engineers. Plain and simple

Learn how recruitment works, we HRs wouldn't give approval to even founders or CEOs for hiring beyond certain parameters of organization structure & mapping.

@@k1ngmaker_ my frnd worked in Infosys for 3 years and his salary was started at 20k @ 3.6LPA and 2k after 1 year and in the 3rd year it was 29k @4.2LPA . No appraisal or any HR discussion in 3 years I was shocked. He said you people talk and hear about toxic culture but I live with it.
I have seen it's my Manager in his company 😂😂. Stole 5K from my Night shift allowances after i resigned.😅

In a bank branch, people used to sit till 8-9pm and work never finishes. New manager came in, he said whoever is sitting late is not productive and will not he rewarded for it and it will mot count in performance assessment. People stop sitting late, people started leaving on time, and branch kept still running successfully

50 thousand per month per person should be the basic anyone should be paid and the maximum should be no more than 2.5 lakhs per month per person but on that person taxes should be 40%, then humanity will improve overall and we wouldn't need to have Wars.

You forgot to mention how there have been numerous cases where CEOs have passed away due to cardiac arrest at young age between 30-45. Why? This belief in toxic work culture, they had a lot of stress as well and used to work for hours and hours even on weekends.

That's very true. I was an unpaid Intern in an Investment Bank and still worked 50 hours a week. It got really exhausting, so I can understand what employees go through!

I, in fact, because of this harassment, left India and have settled in a North American country, only to realize that what Indians preach, the West actually follows, and even after 78 years of Independence, we still are slaves.

The actual fact is, IT companies such as Infosys are third party service providers. They do charge a lot to their clients for every resourse / project, but do not pay well / make their employees to work uncounted number of hours to bag more and more profits, to satisfy their shareholders / stakeholders and top management.
It has to be a joint operation between shareholders / stakeholders and the top management to fix the culture first.
I am really proud that I have left working for IT companies after working for about 8 years and joined a captive.
Exactly. They make statements like this because they think it's an easy uptick on the growth graphs for the shareholders. No extra money invested but growth still happens. Shareholders love it, employees don't.

I already worked as a senior Engineer in a top construction company. Here the working hours are more than 12 hours a day and 6 days a week. The company holiday in sites is only 10. And the total paid leaves 36 days. Also in most of the construction top companies including L&T the same thing is happening. The working hours are becoming hell.

I worked for 10 years and now I run my own company. Working 20 hr a day and working on Sunday for a CEO or for a person holding equity makes sense but for an average employee just doesn't make sense. It should be the responsibility of the management to allocate proper tasks based on what the employee can achieve. There is also a gap in the HR department of most companies as the job of the HR should be to be the spokesperson for the employee rather than the company.
The non-collaborative and competitive culture makes employees hostile towards one another and creates a culture of favouritism making it hard for new employees to grow.
I work for around 20hr a day, but because it's my own company. I too get burnt out. I don't think any of these CEOs can work for 20hr a day doing what the employee does.
You wouldn't be watching UA-cam if you worked 20 hours a day.

In L&T you cannot take 1 or half day sick leave. You have to take a mandatorily 2 days sick leave with a medical certificate. Last year it was 3 days.
I have more than 10 years of experience in IT, Another reason why ppl get irritated with overtime is because these corporate employers are basically tax payers, so already paying so much tax and getting no benefit from government and now company expects me to work on weekends with no pay. So am i a fool????

I worked in PWC for 11 month for quarterly I use to work 20 hours a day for straight a month or more. And all this leads to hypertension and fatty liver added with eyesight issues.
They forget that people work for their families and need not for companies' needs.
By saying this They wanna become another ELON MUSK financially ,but not mentally and emotionally .want more money but not wanna give more money to employees. Shame
I live in Melbourne, and if I am in the office after 5.30, my head of the department asks me if my workload is alright and I get time in lieu if I have to work after my work hours for any event or meeting and I am asked to start late or finish early the next day. I am not making bank, but I actually have time to go for a walk or go to the beach after in summertime. It's amazing to be treated like a human being who gets autonomy. I can take so much ownership of my projects when I know that I can completely disconnect after work or on vacation.
I am a TCS employee and I think they took this LnT guy too seriously. I was interviewed on Sunday by a project manager for a client and he said his boss told him to do so. 🤦

@@N_D_2088 with the recent recessions and dearth in projects there is this bad practice going on in most service based companies where employees are warned that if they end up on bench for too long they might be laid off. Projects are unpredictable, and you often get support roles so there isnt much to learn and grow. Non indians are usually strict about their working hours but Indians want to deliberately spend 10-12 hours god knows why.
