I speak to one of my former co-workers regularly and he has been jobless since last November. Last time I spoke to him 2 weeks ago he said he's applied to over 700 positions and still nothing. It's bad out there, at least in Financial Services and IT.

My gf was looking to change positions. Same thing. Applied to hundreds of places and didn’t even get a call back at all except from maybe 3 of them. She stayed with her currently company and is now in a new role. So unless you already have a job somewhere it might make sense to look within your company. If you’re unemployed: godspeed my friend.

The silver lining in that is that you live in a country where that is possible. That makes the company able to survive in the moment. In Norway, where I live, you could not do that. From this point forward we have an economy clearly slowing down, probably entering a recession which is perfectly normal, not unhealthy economically, but necessary. Then, we have Janet Yellen in the Treasury with an apparent far more powerful influence and impact than the Fed Chairman. Yellen has mastered every type of bubble money ever conceived with the intention of pushing that recession out till 2025 or beyond. We are giving the patient, the US economy, stimulants and depressants at the same time. The patient is old and haggard, not young and vibrant. Perhaps our economy is Joe Biden.

Why don’t they just use ADP reports. They release the payroll count. Seems they want the most subjective data so they have an excuse to
