When setting up my journal for 2020 I wrote down the year in a very artsy way. I was very focussed, connected the 2s and 0s and Put quite a bit of effort into making it PERFECT. And it looked really good. Then I noticed I wrote 2200 ...
I started setting up my 2025 journal by writing down the year and.. I accidentally wrote 2024 instead so I feel you on the immediate stuff-up. It was even quicker than a second word so you're still good, Jess :D
i planned a super artsy first page for the new reading journal, took me nearly four hours. came back to it the next day... yup, 2024. thankfully i realised BEFORE i started drawing it into the actual journal...
If I run out of space in my index, I just use the next empty page in the notebook, then the last entry on the first index is that page number and noted as "Index- Part 2". Works great because I always go to the first page to look for something and if I don't find it there I know exactly what page to go to next to continue my search.
This is why I love my TN notebook. I just swap out inserts as needed. Right now I’ve got an insert for my monthly/weekly/daily logs, one for my work, one for my annual collections (yearly goals, etc) and one for my long term collections. When long term collection inserts get full, I can move them to an insert binder. Sometimes I use a separate TN notebook for work when I’m working on long term projects that justify their own insert for notes.
It's good luck to stuff up right away. Because when you get past that, you can get past everything. I even feel less pressure, cuz, hey I stuffed up, I fixed it, I can fix all things after this. :) Soldier on, no bad omens here 🙌
I watched your long-term collections set up last year and decided I'd start one this coming year. THANK YOU for the video! It came just in time and helped me visualize what I was going to put in my new journal.
This is so valuable. I reviewed a journal from 2020 and I found that I had accomplished most of the larger projects I had set for myself for 2020 by the end of 2024 and will accomplish one or two by the end of 2025. I had 10 large projects for 2020 which was too much for one year. For larger projects the timeline is more suited for 5 years. Larger projects are going from financial independence to financial freedom where your assets are generating cashflow on autopilot. These take more planning than just buying the asset because the economy is changing and course correction is required. Larger projects are also vitality vs just not being sick. These require a longer time horizon. Thank you for sharing. :o)
Your LTC journals are what inspired me to start my own. It makes life so much easier having these kind of spreads in a journal that you don't have to redo every year. (ps - I'm a wizard too!)
Making a mistake is not a Bad Omen. Please stop thinking that way, lol. What you ended up with was way cuter than a boring name. Mistakes give us reasons to think creatively - that is a Good Thing!!!!
Along with re-installing applications with a hard reset, getting your fave htmls back! I know you can save the file, but I list all my fave websites to restore! It sucks to try to remember some of them or keyword search them (not all are stores, etc, but neat things found - like old WordPress sites😊).
I hear you, Jess!!! I carefully plan about my new journal setup and when the time comes to write my name on the first, opening page of the notebook, I freeze😂 I even practice the handwriting on a different paper!😂😂😂😂😂
I’ve been considering doing this too now that I’m deciding whether I want to migrate anything into my 2025 planner, so great timing! I think I’d be very tempted to also add a book just for indexing - probably an A6, so instead of migrating when the collections book fill, I can just index where reference lists I want to keep eg bucket list, sit among the books. It got complicated quickly, so then I decided to keep reference and research and long term project planning digitally - much easier with the improvements in Apple notes. 😂
How satisfying it is, watching you draw lines with no ruler haha I have a squint eye, I think effects my judgement, even with a dotted page 😂 Please can I ask what pens you are using? My pages are quite thin…..
my name is elly and i always write it in lower case and in cursive. i get carried away with the loops and will add one too many sometimes so i get accidentally messing up your own name lol
I was thinking we could, yeah! We have a members' choice slot on our livestream calendar for December, so I thought I'd put it forward as an option for them 😄
My last name starts with an A. I often mess it up because I cannot decide BEFORE I start to Write it whether I want a Cursive A or a Block letter A for my first letter! Darn!
Jess I'm having trouble with some of your videos lately because one of the songs in your soundtrack is my most frequent sleep time meditation track and it makes my brain want to go to sleep 😂😂😂 it's a pavlovian response! I'm having to shake it off so I can pay attention haha
Ah yes, I've done that before where I misspelled my own name 😂 usually when it's like a birthday card and I only have one and I can't mess this up and I can't get another one 😅 I think it's the over-thinking that we can't mess this basic thing up that sometimes makes us mess up
Off topic but you used your brush pen so much and I remembered: have you ever tried the faber castell ones? I got them and love them, but I realized that to fully have a 5 millimiter bar (to fill the space between dot lines) I have to push them hard and I don't understand if my pens tips are shorter than the tombows, if they're harder (don't think it's this one frankly) or just I'm the one not using them right!
The Faber-Castell brush tip pens I have are a finer tip than Tombows, kind of a medium-size between the Tombow Dual Brush Markers and the Tombow Fudenosuke In terms of size it goes: Tombow Brush Markers > Faber-Castell PITT Brush pens > Tombow Fudenosuke The FC PITT brush pens have a similar hardness to the Tombow BM, but maybe a taaad more flexible 🤔 Given the size increase of the Tombows, I find them a lot easier to get the full 5 mm covered 👌
What methods have you researched and done in your bullet journals? I know you mentioned 2 in this video and wondered where you learned about these methods.
I am fan of simple designs which makes this video my favourite... Or so😅😅. So am I a crazy fan of Jass... 😅😅😅.. One thing I am not a fan of is hand lettering.... IT IS SOOO HARD.. 😢😢😢😢
Haha 😂 Oh dear! I always love when we're given spelling rules like that which just don't hold for a bunch of words 😅 My trust of the English language is low 😝
I totally wrote my name super crooked and sloping down, the grey lines are way too light for normal household lights, I just can't see them without an LED headlamp or something. I used a sticker to re-write my name, but I was going to go sticker free this year. Bummers.

You’re just living in the future 💪
I made my year intro page upside down in my journal!! I hope that's not an indication of how the year will go. 🫠
If you ever run out of space with your index and you aren't ready to move into another journal, just index your new index page.
Genius
Smart!
Yeah I figured I probably would 😝 break out the threading as well 👌

@katheriner9194 And the struggle. The struggle is also real :D
@@AnnInWonderland. True that, especially when you are a perfectionist and then it's all like the facepalm memes 😆

Man, was I ever jazzed when the yellow showed up nicely. So satisfying 😌
Haha glad you liked that one! 💜 I appreciate that it's a readable yellow (at least in person 👌)

What is TN?
@ TN is Traveler's Notebook.

I would love to have a caligraphy guide for the style you've used here! I love how it looks
"It's been 84 years" is a classic only those of us with excellent taste break out.
It’s definitely a favourite 👏

My last name is O’Donnell, and I’ve gotten carried away while signing things and ended up with four loops at the end. 😂 I’m enthusiastic.
Great video! Glad I'm not the only one that struggles with spelling 'alcoholic' lol
I stuffed it up BOTH times 😂
Planning to do this for 2025 but did not have a name for it! This was so serendipitous and helpful! Thank you!
Most welcome! 😄 Glad it was useful for you 💪
Love this ❤thank you for sharing, some great ideas too 😊 x

Heck yeah 🥳 Made me somewhat tempted to do a rainbow January theme 😝

That's why I got a notebook with my name stamped in the cover.
🎼 On the 6th day of Christmas, my Jashii gave to me... 🎶
Such a sweet comment and I totally agree with you ❤
Haha 😂 Well I hope everyone has been enjoying Vlogmas so far! 💪
working on my reading journal while i catch up on some of your videos, i messed up the same point that you did :(

What is the pen you used for the header for this page?
Those are the fine tip ends of the Zig Clean Color Dot Markers 💪
@@JashiiCorrin Ok thanks. At first I was like New Zealand has cool pens. lol.
When I was younger I took 'I before E except after C' very, very literally and misspelled my middle name as Marei.

Love these ideas but I’m confused on one point. You didn’t like the red journal…so you started another red journal? 😮😂
Yup, I moved out of the red I didn't like into a red I do 😛 This one is a deeper, touch darker red. Small change, big difference 😂
😂😂😂 not even surprised
In fifth form, I started a science test by spelling my name wrong. It was the first of many mistakes.
Oh dear 😂 "It was the first of many mistakes" sounds like something a narrator would say 😝 I love it
So you're name is actually Jashii?
My name is Jess 😊 or technically Jessica. But if Japanese that’s Jeshika. My friend misspelled it once (Jashii) and it stuck 😛
@JashiiCorrin oooh thanks for sharing ❤️, I wanted to ask before, but felt like that sail already shipped 😅.
