slow? definitely not. Mine's 503 top speed is 150-160km/h it has a load of torq, but it isn't a wheelie machine that you could wheelie just with a twist of the throttle. You have to help it with a clutch to lift the front wheel of the ground. Also I'd say, the rider is taking the ride easily. When you are new to this bike, it can easily scare the shit out of you. I still remember my beginnings with the bike. Pretty scary, but incredibly lustful to ride. These days I ride it on a circuit quite often and a stronger front brake is a need.
