This song has more meaning than words can ever express. While living on the road in tents on the Oregon and Washington coasts along with living deep in the most gorgeous mountains with the love of my life.....this is the song i prayed he would sing to me each time he decided to beat the life out of me :-( None the less, I love this son with all my heart and pray for the day a man come's into my life that can sing this song to me from the bottom of his heart.
I'm almost trembling,, I've just seen the movie for the second time and I think it's absolutely a fenomenal movie.. And the music is also undescribable !
This song is truly beautiful. It has a great message in it and is beautifully written. I haven't seen the film but I really appreciate Eddie Vedder's work; as a solo artist, in Pearl Jam, and in compilations with bands such as Tom Petty. Keep it up.
Mr. Vedder. i have fallowed you from the last 18 years and so you are like fine wine you just keep get ting better over time bro,. keep on keep on . peace to all
Don't ya just love it when you suddenly discover something that's been there the entire time?? This happened to me about a year or so ago with Eddie Vedder..... I inadvertently came upon this video, and although I'd heard the song on the radio occasionally as well as the Pearl Jam songs down through the years, I never paid much attention to them til that point! Then, of course, I started goin back through their past material and kinda fell in love with songs I'd been hearing through only one ear for decades now! Even though this song was written by a guy from Ontario, Canada Eddie's cover is amazing!
Eddie Vedder should have been born in the mid 40’s and should have sang his Songs in the 1960’s ! He would have been More appreciated then Than Now ! I personally love his songs and I’m 69 because he would have been up there with Neil Young, Bob Dylan and the Byrds !
Impossible to describe my love for Eddie Vedder , his lyrics are more to me than any word written. Cannot wait for him to bless Nova Scotia once again. Not 1000 soldiers could keep me away. Michael Hartlen p.s. great video
Heard this song for the first time two days ago (into the wild) and it's the only thing i've been listening to ever since...(computer, mp3, cd) I'm hooked... Love it!
this song played on the car radio everytime me an my dog(ernie) went camping last year.only watched the movie a month ago, such a awsome song, great moive. Rest in peace Ernie, will never forget your loyal friendship,or your relaxed take on life. r.i.p Ernie.
Probably the mind of many of us who saw Into The Wild changed while we were watching it. Personally, I´m sick of the system, hate and people who rule the world. But this movie, and this kind of songs, heal me, and gives me strenght to go ahead. Anyway I´d rather prefer somewhere warmer than Alaska. God Bless All.
+Laura Hughes I hope you did Laura and God bless you and all the best going forward. My Celtic 6th sense tells me you are a fine and magical person and I'd switch places with your fiance anytime.
When i listen to this song i turn off the lights, lean back in my chair, close my eyes and just think about how beautiful life is and how many things i can experience with my whole life in front of me.
nice clip - well done & thanks from a fellow fan... I love this song and all those on the soundtrack..... got to meet Eddie a few years ago backstage in Sydney (Australia). Had a few drink and a great chat - he's a great guy and deserving of the praise for his solo stuff.
only being one of eddie in this world makes him more rare..i agree i love eddie also but eddie is unique and thats one of the reasons i love his music. he makes masterpieces
Hey thanks for the comments. I used iMovie2 on my iMac to edit the movie and I shot it with my Samsung point and shoot camera in video mode... nothing fancy, just having fun.
what a great song. didnt know about this guy since i watched into the wild a few days ago. already like my favourite artist..every song is like good, almost bob marley standard
wowww, me traslada a otros mundo, Eddie Vedder...magnifica su musica... va mas alla de las espectativas, solo es so0ñar con lo que realmente te trasmite.....xd
I had no idea Nova Scotia was so beautiful, I have visited Moncton, Fredericton and Dieppe, but not Nova Scotia. That boardwalk looks awesome, maybe one day I will fly out there.
There is nothing like leaving the day to day crap behind and, like Into the Wild, just embracing life for what it is. Some people call it checking out. I call it checking in. That kid had the right idea. Sadly life gets in the way. And like it or not, we need some money to get by in this society. See the world, meet strangers, listen to music, smell fresh air, spend quality time with good friends and family as much as you can. Live for those moments and you'll do just fine.
people bitching bout the video just dont have any idea ;D probably one of the best self-made videos i have ever seen on youtube, keep going =) .. no need to talk about the song, luv ya eddie
Whomever notices, said it is the powers that create. Our lives have been questioned, the meaning. Stand tall with who you are and remember there are no copies. Grab Moments of shine. Sometimes life only shines for one so often, I am waiting for my second light, true to be here soon. My 1st became a glow, my second you will know.
When I was a child I fed myself to an early grave talking all I can. The occult came to me and talked with supernatural charm. Specifically I am writing from my corpse as I sit. Ever hear of "I feel like someone just walked over my grave". Eventually I will toast with my dead friends..alive, dead, "Sake".
@ShyShoe1 You know, my favorite things that we as humans are able to do is walk. Because walking is moving forward. It's going somewhere, and seeing everything as you do it. Just the concept of walking can represent leaving a dark past or going forward into a better life. In Into the Wild, we saw a man just give away his money and just walk, just live. Just one man and the world around him, nothing else. That's why I love nature, and that's why I love to just walk.
This is very similar to the original version ;D Anyway I think i could listen both of em' and like the same. I just started listening it the whole day again and again and again and again and again and again. Could be Gordon's or eddie's song. They both rock.
Eddie Vedder is a rock star who closed out the Philadelphia Spectrum with 5 shows before they demolished it by a wrecking ball with a blast out Halloween show !!
There's a something everyone owes themselves. Often you have to neglect those who don't operate under those same pretense. Pandering to his family wouldn't of helped Supertramp... he'd been serving their agenda for long enough to realize that their penultimate goal of him finishing school didn't quench his thirst for knowledge, a challenge or adventure.
listening to this song while driving alone on the road , priceless feeling
On
Heard this song on the radio for the fifth time and I just had to listen to it again. This is truly a great, great song.
This is juat a great song, next time I go on a road trip im so playing this its the perfect song
Amen to that. Still going on road trips? :P

ALEXANDER SUPERTRAMP- CHRIS MCCANDLESS: INTO THE WILD!!!! BEST THING IN MY LIFE!!!!
hands down, one of my favorite songs. eddie's voice sends shivers down my spine in every chorus.
This song is truly beautiful. It has a great message in it and is beautifully written. I haven't seen the film but I really appreciate Eddie Vedder's work; as a solo artist, in Pearl Jam, and in compilations with bands such as Tom Petty. Keep it up.

Eddie has really done well with this album. Hats off to him on a great soundtrack.

Absolutely beautiful song. With an equally beautiful video to go along with it.
Impossible to describe my love for Eddie Vedder , his lyrics are more to me than any word written. Cannot wait for him to bless Nova Scotia once again. Not 1000 soldiers could keep me away. Michael Hartlen p.s. great video
