cornballs is still my favorite right now, but this has grown on me a ton the more I listen. I think I was initially hoping for more weirdness, and the songs where Danny is harder to hear did put a damper on it for me at first, but after reframing my expectations a bit I’m appreciating just how masterful the production is and it’s all starting to fall into place.
weirdly I almost think if the music videos for the singles had leaned more into the *long lost blaxploitation film* vibe instead of the standard Peggy aesthetic it might’ve helped with knowing what to expect from the sound of the album, cause just imaging 70s movie style scenes with this as the soundtrack is a whole other experience in my mind
