  • In this weeks episode of the Wide Awake Podcast I spoke to Michael Dowd. He is considered the most Corrupt Cop In New York’s history. During his career Dowd stole money and dealt drugs while patrolling the streets of Brooklyn. He was also a criminal associate of the Diaz organisation. When he was eventually caught he was facing life in prison and upon his release a True Crime documentary called The Seven Five was filmed and it detailed Dowd's Life as a Dirty Cop.
During this episode we talked about the events that led Dowd to a life of crime. How much money he made from stealing, drug dealing and working with gangsters. The time he confronted a man that placed a hit on him. The corruption that spread though New York’s police force. How he was eventually caught. His life in prison and much more!

@@ripblackmamba08 Fuck no!!! I pray to God that he doesn't take your shit advice.. we don't need more of the same bullshit average Joe podcast hosts.. we need ones like this kid who will ask new and different questions.. he got some new stories out of dowd that we haven't heard before this in comparison to every other podcast Mike has done where they all ask him the exact same questions and all get the same exact answers.. you might as well just use other people's interviews because it's verbatim the same shit

great episode. this dude avoids accountability like the plague. "I only did things most people have done themselves... extortion, robbery, drug dealing, etc" and then talks about how as a cop they're just looking to fire them all the time... dude it sounds like they were looking to fire YOU, and for good reason. delusional.

Yea, a lot of people don't get it. Of course he's going to try and minimize his crimes, but take a minute to actually think about the people's lives he ruined, and no amount of sweet talk will make that dish palatable.

They are still doing that stuff in chicago. I had multiple bags put on me 20 years ago and just 4 years ago. I saw them Chase someone down that I know was a drug dealer don't ask me how I know I'm a law abiding citizen now but they. Grabbed him and took his car keys and went around the neighborhood trying to find out which car was his by hitting the alarm and when they finally found. The car. They got into it and the car was rocking back and forth Like there was a struggle going on and they took hover eight thousand dollars that was sitting in the Middle compartment and the rest of the drugs and let him go and left with the money And the drugs for themselves

Mike is the best. Been watching his interviews for awhile. Lot of ppl say he’s still on coke. He may be but I think he’s just one of those dudes who was already…I guess the word would be wiry. My uncle was like that. Never did coke but talked really fast and was always moving. Hard for him to sit still. I’m the same way. My anxiety manifests itself in pacing. The last time I did cocaine was September 2014 lol. Opiates were by drug. Which weirdly enough gave me energy when I snorted dope. Never shot it. Idk how. Cuz I was on it off and on for a decade. Never was a nodder. Always got energy from it. Sorry that was my tangent lol. But yeah great interview. It’s always great to listen to mike. I’m friends with him on Facebook and his live videos crack me up.

Same with me I was on dope for 16 years I'm 31 from chicago with over 8 months clean but after awhile I gave into the needle..it's a completely different drug once you shoot it...STAY AWAY FROM NEEDLES. I'm a walking miracle I should not be Alive but I never nodded I always got energy from it especially when you go from feeling like death from withdrawal to normal again you don't nod you just get normal. But once again. Please don't use a needle your chances of getting off it drop down to like 1%

I was an opioid addict, never shot up but it gave me energy. Lots of my “friends” during that time were nodders, I’d envy them. I’d literally be with them everyday and take more just to see if I could nod and I can only think of onetime I did and that was one of the first times that got me addicted 😂

Amen, it makes me cringe thinking how many people's lives guys like him ruined, but I guess we need to treat them like they're heros in order to get them to talk candidly.
My worry is the younger audience normalizing this kind of behavior.
I think a better film to watch is "The Act of Killing". Often times in this world, it seems like the villains are always getting away with murder, but true redemption only comes when they realize the suffering they caused.
