I used to frequent a crackhouse in the 77th, and saw two DTs come in and shake down "Pierre the Proprietor" a few times and leave the rest of us alone.. Much later, there was a big scandal in the 77th, and some of the DTs blew their own brains out.. Biggie Smalls worked up on Fulton + Nostrand..

Just tuned in... Saw your live Monday where u promised a podcast on....The 75! As a NYC native and the son of a NYC Housing Cop I.M eager to see this episode🗽🇺🇸
Jeff I've been following you for a while now and I've got to say you are one of the best interviewers on UA-cam. Very similar style to Patrick bet-david. You ask all the right questions and dig deep and really steer and develop the interview as you go and let the story evolve in a way that seems to allow the interviewee cover the whole story and you do so in a manner that can make or allow the listener to understand the situation or position that the interviewee was in. Right or wrong The Listener finds themselves understanding of and maybe a little sympathetic towards the person you're interviewing. Great job as always and I agree with you that the 75 was one of the best documentaries I've ever seen. Also your description of Adam Diaz was perfect. His looks, personality and demeanor couldn't have been better. It was as if Martin Scorsese cast him for this part. You can't help but like the guy
Mike Dowd is so annoying, and I don't believe half the shit he says. He runs around with the most annoying "Hitman" Jon Alite. They both have such a chip on their shoulder. They want to tell the world they were somebody important at one time.
Good job Jeff. It was a good interview and well done on not interrupting the guest. A few times both you started talking and you gave him the courtesy to say what he wanted. That's what makes a quality interview unless the guest is overbearing and never shuts up.
Power Corrupts Absolutely.......... It's a reoccurring theme played out time and time again... Was the movie "Killerman" based around the enticing, unavoidable, natural lure of temptation?
Didn't Ken feel bad when he took that money from the lady in the apt? I lost my respect, GOOD QUESTION? ..Did you have any shame?? The only decent thing he said ws that he was sorry
Love the content Jeff, as far as mob podcasters are concerned, you truly are one of the last of the Mohicans. I thought Blackjack was Scott Burnstein, they share the same voice.
Growing up in Bayonne we had our own, lesser spoken about "Mafia Cop." George Weingartner. A former Chief of Police who ended up running with John DiGilio. Years later he would chauffeur him to his death. (Louis Auricchio being the trigger man.) He made a video recording for prosecutors and federal agents, taunting them prior to offing himself in his garage in Brick, N.J. Rumor was he was actually given his own crew. Not certain of the validity of that. One can only assume it wasn't the first murder he was ever involved in.
Hi Jeff, I'm Kimberly ( the 75) chicky 's ex . I was listening to your pod. Cast about the Gemini lounge, my mother worked there for Roy for years ( Sissy) I'm not being disrespectful just wanted to correct a few things Ninno approached joey & Anthony and offered to make them made men in his family if they took off out Roy Ninno believed Roy was talking to feds ( I think he lied so he could get the twins to turn) don't think that's true however he did bring alot of attention but Ninno was not there . When Roy expired. Years before When the family heard of Roy and hearing how good he was at making $$ they offered to make him a made man I believe that was in late 70's early 80's I never heard about a chandelier in the car when they found him. . I have to say back then, businesses were booming neighborhoods were clean and kids were safe. Very different today I'm not saying anything about right or wrong just stating the obvious. Enjoy the podcast look forward to hearing many more
He's the guy who squealed on Mike. He was the one who couldn't hold his water and blamed it all on Mike . I'm not saying Mike was a saint. But this guy can't rat and also want to tell the story. Mike tells it a lot better
No, Mike was out of control and talks about this guy like they were best friends but expected his "best friend" to go down with him for it. He's a selfish pos, or at least was. Maybe he's changed.
Mike is likeable and despisable at the same time. I despise corrupt cops more than criminals but listening to Mike, you can tell he's probably a fun guy to hang around with. All that said, he was still a scumbag for a long time.

Great job Jeff. I agree with Ken Eurell; shorter segments seem so much better. It's tough finding an hour and 18 minutes to sit and watch an interview. This would have been easier for me as 2 parts. Anyway, I'll be subscribing to his channel and picking up the book.

You should have had Micheal Dowd, Ken was a snitch !! Micheal would have been a great interview !!
Dowd has been heard and is a rat too
That’s not accurate. Dowd never ratted on anybody; if you don’t like the guy, that’s fine, but don’t just throw the term rat around.
I agree! I hate hearing a story from both sides. I’d rather just hear one side and only the information that produces. Too much info might result in me being able to have a clear picture of what really happened. That’s adulting and I’ll have none of it.
