@@Blakelysworld358 Already ordered some LaBella deep talking flats for my new Sire U5, and it hasn't even arrived yet - also ordered Gotoh 528 tuners, which are lighter and better quality. I assume it should be well balanced, but the lighter tuners can only help.
I've had the mint green one for a few months and it is very impressive. Thd rolled neck is just like a Fender Ultra, the tuners don't need changing, and the fit and finish is flawless. The pups are a bit muddy but that might be my chain. The only negatives are the sharp body edges that make it uncomfortable on the forearm when sitting, and it has a bit of neck dive.
Hi mate, just wondering does yours sound close to how it sounds in this video? I’m wondering if these guys are using effects and an EQ to make it sound better than it is. Thanks dude
You guys are awesome! I love the double Bass jams you do to open the shows. But honestly, you two could probably make a broomstick, single string, washtub Bass sound impressive....LOL....Cheers from Atlanta GA, and Happy Holidays!
Tight grooves abound whith Nathan and Lee in the house!! Great review guys and great jams! (Like a couple of funky dudes playing a date at a Holiday Inn in the 70's LOL). The tones on these are great..just great!..for 400 quid? Bugger me that's a great value!.
Those sound FANTASTIC, and they look stunning! I really hope they don't make one in a Sherwood Green/British Racing Green...because then I'll have to buy one! 😁 Great video, keep up the great work, and stay healthy and safe!
for those of you who want a shot scale bass this is the one . . . for the value of your money you can't beat this bass, it's beautiful and great workmanship, plus plays really really sounds so good . . . . . this is the one
Great basses, they need to make a 24 fret version of the u5 though... Short scale basses are limiting depending on what and how you play, if it was long scale with scooped top frets from the 16th and up, to be able to get under the string more to bend eaiser, I'd buy it. Please make a verion of this bass with these two things, then it'll be perfect.
A problem with that is when you have a short scale the upper frets are very close together. On a 25" scale guitar the upper frets are a bit tricky but playable because of the thin strings. On a bass the thick strings and narrow fret spacing makes it hard to press the string down sufficiently.
Any chance of you doing a review on the schecter stilleto vintage both 4 and 5 I just ordered one from epic deal and there's no reviews on UA-cam and I think you review basses best
All of the guys at Andertons are great. Lee, Lee, Pete, Rabea... But if I had the privilage to choose.. . I would most likely got super drunk with Nathan :D
Pickup output isn't the issue, input impedance is and that's the main function of a DI. Depending on the interface, too, since many have DI inputs (often labeled "hi-Z" or "instrument" inputs) built in.
30"......Love to see more 5 string short scale basses. With nice wood and stains. So far only Ibanez offers one for cheap. Its $200 but a mere 28.5" scale? And, in BLACK ONLY....what's up with that?
At least in the US, we have a few more color choices for the 28.5" scale. Walnut stain, transparent red/burgundy, metallic burgundy, metallic blue, brown sunburst, purple and root beer. Nothing as cool as the U5 Mint which this vid MADE me order.
If I still have a job by the end of the year (Fuck you Covid) I'm absolutely buying one of these. I'm a short-arse and have very small hands that are also mildly arthritic, so I really struggle recording bass tracks for my music. I never knew short-scale basses existed so seeing this is fantastic news.
@@VictorLombardi Sorry to hear that. I still have mine, for now, but we're going back into lockdown on Saturday due to the new strain of Covid. I work in hospitality and trading has been dire these last few months. It's a large company I work for but they can only sustain losses for so long. Anyway, enough Doom and Gloom. How are you finding the bass?
I'm there with you Dead.Skin.Mask. Small hands and arthritic. So bad my thumbs can't slap. Have an Ibanez Mikro but need to upgrade. It's either gonna be one of these or a Fender Mustang. Decisions...
When can we have Nathan and the Captain back, with a drummer too maybe? Enjoy these still, but there's nothing better than the chemistry between those two and only the Cap knows how to tweak Nath's nob to get the most out of him. Cheers
Marketing-tastic! These are great for the price I'm sure, but come on now, we all know that MM's custom Sire is not his go to instrument because it really doesn't cut it sonically.
Would have loved to hear these basses with flatwounds
I have flatwounds on mine and well, let me just say your on the right track!

sounds & feels amazing with GHS pressurewounds mounted through the body!
I wish they would make the 5 string long scale in that mint colour..... love it!!!!!
Same here!
Sunday morning, coffee and a new Andertons bass video = 😊
that intro jam was class!
Great to see Lee back -
With the number of short-scales around these days, maybe it's time for a shoot-out, blindfold or otherwise?
Body shapes are pretty different, maybe too recognizable this way ?
You are in luck, Thomann made Short Scale Bass Blindfold Quiz. The video is called exactly that.
You guys sound awesome in the intro!
Excellent review, thank you. Lee's style of presenting is excellent.
Can't wait to see what you say about the Fender American Professional II Jazz Bass
Everyone's waiting for that video!!!
I just brought one. You guys were kicking it!!

I really like mine. My only dislike is no arm carve. That sharp edge bites the forearm. The pros far outweigh this con.
Opening jam rules! Thank you guys!
Great review and interesting about the volume output. And as always stellar chops.

I went to see Marcus Miller Live at the Jazz At Lincoln Center in NY in 2019.
Wonderfully done! Best Anderton's video I've seen in awhile.

The intro was killer. I love the way you guys play! Can I get some lessons?
Opening jam - bonkers good. Cheers fellas.
made my day, I miss a good old jam!
Well... Nathan and Lee. after watching this I couldn't hold back and ordered my mint short scale MM from Andertons and Loving it. Thanks guys... 💙👊😎
still loving it?...thinking about grabbing one !
@Chris Beaton did you? I'm liking at getting one now too 😄
for those of you who want a shot scale bass this is the one . . . for the value of your money you can't beat this bass, it's beautiful and great workmanship, plus plays really really sounds so good . . . . . this is the one
website says its sold out.
coming back here again and again just to listen this awesome intro jam :)
Wich one do you guys think is better:fender mustang pj or the marcus miller?
Man that yellow natural color in the back gets love from no one appart from me 😅
its gonna work well with low tune?
... And there are left handed versions in each color... at the same price ! (What do you think about that, every other brand ?...)
I’ve been waiting around for these kids for a while now like you boys, beautiful but so upsetting they’re not active. I’d still grab that mint one 😅
These two doesn't make it hard for you to love those basses :)
Larry and Marcus definitely got the folks at site to pay extra close details
Love my Squier short-scale Jaguar Bass.
I have one. Not bad, but mine wouldn't stay in tune. I wonder how this would compare w the PJ Mustang. This is actually less. Look at that bridge...
I love my U5. I'm glad I bought it before hearing these guys play them. I never would have ordered it and missed out on my new favorite instrument.
Ah yeah! What a jam :)
Que timbre esses baixos. Show.
The Mint green would look much better with just a tinted maple headstock IMO. That would give it a vintage flair !
What type of strings are original on the Sire U5 ?
Gauge and brand.
Great basses, they need to make a 24 fret version of the u5 though... defeats the purpose of a 25" bass...if you want 24 frets just play regular scale bass
Is Anderton's planning on selling the new Warwick-made Sadowsky basses in the near future by any chance?
This Sire or Squier Jaguar PJ cv 32 inches scale?
Great stuff as always. You guys going to look at the V5?
Wow!!! This bass will be suitable for young teenager who wants to learn bass :-)
How’s this compared to the mustang?
Mine has very powerfull low frequences .. I must move down to zero the bass knob of my amp ; treble on 75% and low mid on 30%. Is it normal ?
Very very nice, split pea and ham, basses they're the rocking soup
Is the bridge pickup quiet? It's not the be-all-and-end-all. Actually, for me it is.
Looks like a fun guitar to play.
Short arm bass, Lady finger, Shorty. MTD has a short scale for 7 grand!
Any chance of you doing a review on the schecter stilleto vintage both 4 and 5 I just ordered one from epic deal and there's no reviews on UA-cam and I think you review basses best

Please please please review the V5 😍
So, since the passive pickups have strong output will i need a di box to connect the bass with an audio interface or not?
Pickup output isn't the issue, input impedance is and that's the main function of a DI. Depending on the interface, too, since many have DI inputs (often labeled "hi-Z" or "instrument" inputs) built in.
it's 30" yes it's standard short scale but better to point that out IMO.
nice demo
Isn't that mentioned in the video and the video title?

So, is there a v5 review planned? I would like to see how it sounds with you rig
Too bad you can't find-it, play it, Purchase it . . . get in Contact with the Company? How are they selling bases???
How many bands are there with 2 bassists in it?
Sire u5 or sire p7
Love the look of these. Wish they were full scale.
They have a ton of full scale Sires to choose from....
What's the scale of an upright bass.
Most are about 41"
Question: am I allowed to get an appointment At the store without buying anything
Wow, you guys sure seem to like a lot of string clanking on the fret sound. 😕 I would prefer to hear more actual BASS tones!!!
When can we have Nathan and the Captain back, with a drummer too maybe?
Enjoy these still, but there's nothing better than the chemistry between those two and only the Cap knows how to tweak Nath's nob to get the most out of him. Cheers
Great tones, amazing groove. But how about you guys let each other finish talking?
I noticed that a bit, too. I think that the fellows may be a little wound-up on coffee! But their enthusiasm is nonethless great.
They're already frickin sold out!!!
Chicago Music Exchange has 'em
Marketing-tastic!

Wow
Epicc!
Left handed maybe?
Never ever seen anyone look as happy as what Lee does. I dont look this happy during sex 😐
A rosewood fretboard and I'd be sold. Not a fan of maple.
Snide comment: Why do we never see an upright bass...? Upright bassists, sure; but upright basses-- not.
Very disappointed... No Mr. Been?!
For that price, it would have been nice to have known whether or not it comes with a gig bag or a case of some kind.
Oh crap, illegally attractive intstuments you have there!
too much silly talking. come on.
Medium&Shortscale is just for Girls or Kids, not for men's!!!
Sorry🤔😉🤟
