    Greetings from NZ. Tasmania looks so attractive and peaceful. The facilities such as jetties and walkways look to be well made to last, I am so impressed with this adventure which you have captured so well on video.

    The last time I went up the Gordon was in about 1976. Reg Morrison took me down there one night onboard the J Lee M. We took a small group of people down there to try and extinguish a peat fire. I enjoyed your video. It’s time I did it again. This time in Sarah Ann.

    Some years ago I took part in a hydrographic survey of the entire harbour and river mouth, followed by a recreational trip up the Gordon afterwards. That was in a 21-ft power boat. It's a beautiful place.

    Nice production, thanks for posting. After your long drive from Hobart, a couple of other closer options for southerly protection in the harbour prior to Farm Cove and it’s tricky entrance, is Swan Basin and Double Cove. Perhaps a future video on Lake Pedder or the Pieman River, you’ve got the right boat and equipment, and both very interesting places.

      Thanks mate. Actually our destination was going to be Dbl Cove but the wind was too on the nose so we headed towards FC instead. Lake Pedder: sailing up there next weekend in fact. Pieman: kayaked up there not long ago...not sure I'd take Elixir there...maybe something smaller...stay tuned!

      @@SmallCraftTasmania-ms4sx remember to fit a back line to your anchor, so you can retrieve it. So many trees below the surface on Pedder, but a huge and impressive waterway.
      Looking forward to the video!

    Great video! What an enchanting beautiful place. I live in Michigan and sail mostly in the Great Lakes. I have a 2008 Eclipse. Your video really inspires me. I do so much day sailing. Need to take the boat to some destinations. I think the Eclipse is such a nice boat. I wish there were more videos like yours.

    Lovely video! I have a small boat in the north and would love to spend a week or two on the river. Macquarie harbour scares me a bit, but if I tackled that in the early morning it might be safe enough. Well done and safe boating.

    Very nice video haven't even finished it and I wanted to comment. I have one! Key Largo FL. It's trailerable sailboat I always wanted. Went out last week it was great. Yours is very nice. I'm thinking about doing the great loop here with it.

    The road from Hobart to Strachan is what I'd call a "marching road". In that it goes "left right lefft right left right".

    Hello from Oregon. Those are some pretty forests you have there. Is it leechy? It looks leechy. Btw - what you call toad in the hole, we call one eyed sailors!

    Discovered your channel last night, really great vids. I live in NW tas and spend a lot of time boating, fishing and diving. Currently own a 4.9m tinnie. I feel like a natural and achievable segway could well be a trailer sailer. The Compac Eclipse is a lovely layout and seems very capable. Did you have it built or were you lucky enough to find it on the market 2nd hand ? My dad used to take me fishing every year up the Gordon, one of my favourite places

      Thanks mate. We purchased her 2nd hand about 5 years ago. Lovely and capable boat and regrettably will be advised for sale soon.

      @@SmallCraftTasmania-ms4sxThat's unfortunate for you guys, I hope something exciting will take its place, mind you your Sea dog is a total weapon, the Bruny trip was inspiring. Let me know when it's up for sale, I'd love to know more details. Thanks for the inspiration, your story telling is on point

    I’ve always wanted an Eclipse. How do you like your new 16 compare Eclipse? I always thought the Eclipse was supposed to top notch.

    • @SmallCraftTasmania-ms4sx
      @SmallCraftTasmania-ms4sx  Місяць тому +2

      Hey Wes. They sail very similar actually. The Eclipse was a lovely boat, but too big and heavy for us...hence the downsize. Also, the CP16 cost us 1/4 the price and the Eclipse certainly wasn't 4 times better!

    • @SailingrumrunnerII
      @SailingrumrunnerII Місяць тому +1

      @@SmallCraftTasmania-ms4sx that’s some good perspective on them for sure. Thank you. The price is what prevented me from getting an eclipse but they sure do look like great boats to sail. Enjoy your 16. They are great. I look forward to seeing more videos of it!

    Guitarist……please take your fingers clear of the frets when changing chords. The squeaking spoils the melody..
