Cheers, guys. It may interest you to know that the sailing vessel Eliza, bound from Salem, Massachusetts 'round the Horn to the gold fields of California in 1849, encountered another Salem vessel at sea. An Eliza passenger recorded that he and his fellow "Fortyniners" climbed atop the cabin and serenaded their fellow townsmen with "The Washboard Song" ("Oh, Susanna"... the gold-seeker's anthem), played on the BUTTON ACCORDION.
Now the moon shines tonight on pretty Redwing,
The breezes sighing, the night birds crying.
While far, far away her brave lies sleeping,
While Redwing is weeping her heart away.
A very good performance of that famous American song. These two Aussies are playing with a lot of enthousiasm. Love them
