At 15:23 you say you're using a density map paint in Zbrush, but how do you apply that in Xgen, do you convert to IFF ? I'm assuming you can't convert polypaint into PTX... right ? x) and it's Zbrush not Mudbox so I'm a bit lost here
you can use any format, just assign and save a blank texture in Maya, if you look in your Hypershade right after, there's a new texture node created, simply just put your texture link in that node and save it again!
Wow, Great work! I've tried following along separate times but i dont get the same result are there any factors besides the modifiers that need to be considered?
Amazing work sir! If I may, is your method for hair creation applicable for real time game character model like for uncharted or the last of us? Or is this only for hyper-realistic models for movies , vfx, and still images? I assume generally that in games running in engines you need hair cards mainly because it's can run without taxing the engine? Sorry for the noob questions. I'm starting out creating hairs and it is so overwhelming since there's plenty of ways in creating hair.
Hi hadi. Thanks for the video. How exactly do you load the modifiers. I read the instructions you sent and it says you have to load the modifiers into the fxmodules directory in your xgen folder. But I don't have that folder. Can you please write instructions on how to setup your directory for xgen modifiers. Says I have to modify my env variables or something. There is not a clear answer on this. Cause I tried creating an fxmodules folder and it says there is no modifiers when I click on load by user in xgen
Noob Question, how did you copy and paste a hair spline like that? Also you quickly popped it up above the surface of the mesh. How did you do that as well? Thanks for showing your process man.
Did you model this in Zbrush? Please help, I have a very realistic model from Zbrush but the normals I exported from Zbrush doesnt show up well in Maya. Ive done tangent space, Ive tied Raw, etc . You have incredible detail in the Maya render. Is that what you used? this is beautiful by the way!!

Where do you find such clean and high quality models? I'm having trouble finding head meshes to practice on.
I didn't find them, I modeled them myself!

Noob Question, how did you copy and paste a hair spline like that? Also you quickly popped it up above the surface of the mesh. How did you do that as well? Thanks for showing your process man.
right click on a guide then select copy guide's shape, right click on another one and paste that shape
