Just wanted to pass on my thanks to Paul for doing this with me- lovely to be able to talk about some stuff that perhaps people don’t associate me with. And I’m in some very good company alongside his other interview subjects so I’m humbled to be here. Also, thank you to all of you that have left such lovely comments. Really quite blown away by them. Keep the faith, DD
I remember David guesting at club 051 in Liverpool around 97 or 98. I was only 17 but I’d just got my first set of decks and loved talking to DJs. I got talking to him and he was giving me tips on record buying and mixing. Such a nice guy and lovely to see him here as he made a big impression on me being a dj and being so nice and not having attitude. Hope you read this David thank you for those memory’s…😊 Wesso
i 100% knew he was going to mention The Normal - easily as influential as the Sex Pistols and more of game changer as far as Modernism in Pop Music goes..excellent interview as is standard, thanks xx
Another great interview and David Dunne is a legend and seems like a top bloke. Disco Demands, which off memory was curated by Al Kent, is a great compilation of disco/funk from the 70s which is pretty much non chart stuff and well worth a listen. Journey Into Paradise is really good as well. More well known stuff that Larry Levan was known for playing. 👍
The original Virgin shop on Lever St was the best, as small as it was, you could get anything in there and if they didn’t have it they’d get it! Robinson’s didn’t really do all that cottage industry home made singles but was a great shop for LPs and had a friendly cat!
@@PaulBSceneStoriesreally small shop and also a good place to get concert tickets if you didn’t want to hoof off over to Ardwick to buy tickets for the Apollo.
@@NikEastwood161thanks Nick, I did 3 at home last week and I managed to change something in the settings. I’ve been learning with some new Rode 2 Wireless microphones

Absolutely- Al Kent’s comps and his own releases as Million Dollar Disco are of the very highest quality.

I don’t think I went in the Lever Street one 😀

@@PaulBSceneStories I’m sure it closed in 1978 and moved down to the new megastore site at the bottom of market street.
The sounds not very good ❤
I’m learning with new microphones at the moment Sarah , it sounds ok on my iPad and iPhone though x
in the "settings" for the video, set the "stable volume" to ON, and that will help a lot.
