UP is 16 deep, DLSU 10 deep. Only 5 players can play at any time. So they can evenly match-up during the 40-minute game. However, at this stage, UP is not just the more cohesive team DLSU is inconsistent and still figuring out how to blend. I see UP sweeping the eliminations, with a repeat of last year’s finals. The championship belongs to the team destined to win it.

In La Salle's game vs. Adamson, they made 15 threes at 40.5% and versus UST, they made 8 threes at 36.4%, In both games, they won by at least 21 points. In the other three games which they won by an average of 7 points, they made an average of 6 threes at 29%. In the game they lost to UE, La Salle made only 2 threes at 12.5%. On this basis, DLSU has to shoot at least 8 threes at 36% versus UP in order to stay competitive in the game. However, UP is the best defensive team against three point shooting allowing only 5.3 made shots a game at an accuracy of 23.7%.
Off topic but what do you guys think of Jacob Bayla’s potential and performance so far? Sorry, I’m not really well versed in basketball 😅 I only know he’s good cause he’s been getting a good amt of minutes in a loaded UP team and his +/- have been consistently high. Is this more of an impact of his defensive abilities?
He's defensive is good bcoz he is so athletic, that's why chico brionnes and harold alarcon have a few minutes@@riizingday03
@@riizingday03 Jacob Bayla has started in all of the six games the UP Fighting Maroons has played so far. He is averaging 4.5 points a game with a 55.5% field goal accuracy from the three point range. In Coach Gold's system, rookies are disuaded to shoot; but when he has the opportunity, Jacob makes them count. He is averaing 3 rebounds and 1 assist per game; and on defense, he has a total of 3 steals and 1 block in those six games. Overall, he has been solid and will only get better. It is apparent that Coach Gold is developing Bayla to be the Maroon's primary small forward not only for this season but for the near future.

Mahirap pero kakayanin, as long as DLSU play with relentless energy and effort and trust the system. Also, KQ should keep the game simple, less home run passes and more simple ones.

Touching on your comments for Gilas. It is exciting to see if QMB is allowed to play as local? I want to see a Gilas lineup with QMB/Sotto, Fajardo/Edu, KQ/Tamayo/Malonzo, Browlee, and Thompson/Abarrientos. The rest of the lineup should be long, athletic, defensive oriented, versatile and capable of shooting outside especially 3 points.

To me, slight edge to dlsu. They still have the superior frontline and coaching staff (topex/caloy). Remains to be seen if up's superior guard rotation can more than make up for the difference
How Josh David will play against JD Cagulangan will solely determine this game.
True! David is the only one that can matchup with JD physically and by experience. They know each other's games so well (LSGH teammates)

Nice episode, guys. I just want to add that what to watch out for is the way DLSU starts. I think if they start flat, similar to the UE or UST game, it will be a blowout. Unlike with UP, they have the tools to turn it on or adjust in the second half. I feel La Salle gets rattled, especially if KQ starts to miss shots.
My first question to you as La Salle fan, since you’re from Ateneo, is: Who is your favorite DLSU player (ALL-TIME)?😂

Anyway, tama ka. UP is probably more notorious for having slow starts but they always manage to turn things up a notch in the 2nd half. Whereas La Salle has a hard time adjusting so having a great start is more crucial for them to have a chance at winning. - sam

As an optimist, I think KQ is due for his best game vs UP. He will dominate this game.

UP gives a lot of fouls, DLSU gives a lot of turnovers. I think its what will determine the outcome this match
DLSU gives turnovers (which UP is known to convert)… UP gives up fouls (which DLSU’s kryptonite).. it’s Dlsu’s game to win honestly… think the FT’s will decide the game…
