The red bowl was the best mahogany bowl that I have seen in a long time... I would never think about painting such a lovely red mahogany bowl. A cleaning and oiling or waxing would have been all that it would have needed to really bring the out the beauty of the natural red mahogany.
@ L Jackson , I totaly agree with you. I never paint beautiful solid wood that is not damaged. Use paint on cheap, damaged or veneered wood to enhance it. Same with good wood furniture. I never paint it either.
I would say that the bowl is rosewood!! A beautiful and valuable element unfinished with paint over that amazing finish. Love the basket also,. Clever idea for the silver plated casserole holder.
You are precious. How fun to see the transformation of each great find. Pretty paper on that table too. Liked them all but I think the shape of that l'il table got a big thumbs up. Blessings Always.
I paint over things all the time, but knowing you painted over a beautiful mahogany wooden bowl nearly gave me a heart attack. Lol. I could never do it. A solid cleaning and a good oil would be as far as I ever could have gotten on something so naturally beautiful.
Lady, you are so talented! I'm proud to say I know a woman (even if through UA-cam) who is so credible and self-sufficient. Thank you for being such a credit to women.
Loved the basket and the scalloped basket too. Thank you for showing how you did the crackle tone on the long drawer too. Everything looked beautiful after finishing.
I loved the basket, the tray and the bowl you painted gray. I believe that wood on the bowl is Purple Heart wood. It looks a lot like the wood that my parents had made all we 6 girls hand mirrors made custom for Christmas gifts as we got into our middle aged years. It is gorgeous and I was sad to see it painted but it does look lovely with the gray. Purple wood is very very expensive wood from the Rain Forest region in central and south america. There are about 20 different species of the wood but it sure reminds me of the wood our mirrors are made of. Very interesting. I am a new sub as of tonight as I found your tricks and the finished products so interesting! Best of luck and keep on sharing.......loved by watch of your video! Blessings
Thanks for the info about the bowl and for joining us! Many people have had opinions about that bowl here in the comments! I'm so glad it stirred a memory for you 😊
I love the passion, even though the history and the value of items is no longer true, especially the bowl and basket. But, it's the owners treasure now and if it makes owner happier that's the value at time! Great passion, love it!
Wonderful! Have a few silver chafing casserole holders myself so appreciate the idea. I love the basket, tray, everything was awesome. Really enjoyed it all. Thanks. Love creative ideas and using old items to produce new treasures.
Hi Cindy! This is the first time I have seen one of your videos and I love them! Not only your finds and your creativity, but the way you show and explain everything makes it well worth the watch! Thank you so much!

So many people think "no one will see the back" Sorry; but that's the 2nd place I look after looking at the front. If they skimped on that part, where else did they skimp at is how I feel. Beautiful transformations! You had me when you said that you made the backs of items as pretty as the front. I don’t like to see a crafter make something lovely and then turn it over and there are stickers, dirt, etc. Love your ideas! Thanks for sharing
Those are votive cups for candles so you guessed well! The sewing machine drawer would be a great planter I think. I love your creative mind: you're a woman after my own heart! My favorite was the casserole holder!
Adding feet to your projects really elevates them (literally!)!! 😉 I would not have seen the vision to add feet to any of these. Love how they all turned out! I’m now looking around my house to see what could use a little lift.

That sewing machine drawer would be nice as a toilet tissue holder as tall as it is, or a display for wash cloths and hand towels. What great ideas you come up with for the things you find! This my first time watching and I will check out your next projects.
Love all of the projects you repurposed, brilliant ideas for all of them! Thank you for the inspirations! Delaware looks like a brilliant place to find things to thrift shop.
@@ReinventedDelaware I’m originally from Maryland and remember driving through Delaware to go to Rehobeth Beach or Ocean City, Maryland , and remember driving through many of the small towns that would have those lovely auction/ thrifting places. Hello Cindy! I am so happy to have discovered your channel as this is exactly what I enjoy watching! Every one of your projects turned out beautifully and I love them all, but if I had to pick a favorite, it would have to be the table top turned tray with the paper. Love it!
I like everything you made and I love everything about you. I wish I was your neighbor! This is my first time seeing your channel and I am now a subscriber. My favorite thing about your channel is that you do a step-by-step as your ideas come and go and when things don’t work out you allow the viewers to see how are you worked around that. The silver riser! I see those all the time, never knew what to do with them! Cool way to make a really special piece! Would make a very nice plant riser, indoor or out. I love the tray too.

I loved everything you did, so pretty! Love the little legs on things. Love the tray from the table top. For me, I would have kept the bowl in natural wood, but that's just me. Well done!!
Re: the bowl. Me too. It's made of an exotic wood (Someone suggested purple heart wood. I was thinking rosewood.) would fit right in with classic Chinese decor.
Hi Cindy! My favorite piece is the grey bowl -- perfect color and finish for it. I also love the silver chafing dish with its ornate elegance contrasting with the picket fence top you created for it.
@@ReinventedDelaware The wooden bowl is probably mahogany. It is a very rare and expensive wood. I was hoping you would just varnish it and bring out it's beauty. To each his own I suppose. :D

This is my first time to your channel. I watch other creators who flip finds but I was intrigued by the items you selected at the beginning of your video. I haven’t finished watching yet but I decided to pause, comment and subscribe. I love the drill attachment you shared. I liked the sanding sponges you mentioned as I too have arthritic hands as well as nerve damage. It definitely makes things more difficult but not impossible. Anything I can find to help with those issues means a lot. Work smarter not harder is my motto. I loved the projects you shared. I have seen risers made from the silver platter holders before but they cut the wood to fit on top of the bottom lip on the inside. I’ve never seen someone clean them up, use gilding wax or create the riser in this way. Quite a few people are into tarnished silver these days. I love learning about new products and new ways of creating something special. The gilding wax was great. Especially if tarnished silver doesn’t sell well in your region. This is also the first time I have seen someone brush on bleach with the bleaching method. I had only heard of submerging items in a tub of bleach. That’s exactly why I have never tried it before. It seemed so messy and like a waste of product. I think my favorite from today is the sewing drawer on spindle feet. I love to put feet on things. Especially with spindles but yours turned out absolutely darling. Thanks a ton for all of the great tips and tricks you shared today. I look forward to binge watching your videos. 😊

First timer. I love baskets and always look for ways to use them. I just loved the scalloped edge tray! Great ideas 💡 Now I finally know how to use my chafing dish! Thanks 😊
I just came across your video on my feed and so glad I did. I am so glad you paint all areas of your projects. Nothing upsets me more than people who don't paint bottoms because they say they won't be seen. To me if your going to sand, stain or paint, the entire piece should look finished. As one who repurposes pieces I find, I love your designs. I live in Coastal Georgia where we deal with heat in the 90s and 100s with high hummidity for at least 6 months out of the year. I too work in my garage so I sympathize with you in dealing with hot days while working. Keep doing great videos.
So glad you found our channel! And welcome, another garage workshop DIY'er like me! About painting the undersides of pieces: some pieces I do and some I don't. The pieces I don't paint on the undersides (or the backs) are usually antique furniture pieces. I like to leave the original finish as a homage to the past. But I also clean up the edges from any paint that might have gotten on the underside original finish. It's my way of leaving some of the past in tact :) Thanks for watching!

@@ReinventedDelaware I'm so glad my comment brightened your day even if just a bit. I will definitely continue watching. I learned so much from watching 3 videos. Much more than I have learned in a very long time. You make beautiful projects and you're an amazing teacher. You're stuck with me now. 😊❤
I like watching your energy while i fall asleep.
That wooden bowl just needs a coat of olive oil.
The picket board silver tray is beautiful! I have one in my sash, and now I know what I'm going to do with it! Thank you!!!
Yay!! Have fun upcycling!😊 and thanks for watching!
I LOVE ALL OF THEM CAN NOT WAIT FOR ANOTHER VIDEO THANK YOU SO MUCH .HAVE A BLESSED DAY.ALSO HI TO THE DOGGIE🐕🌻✝
Thanks so much!🐶 Barkly says hi!
I absolutely choose the bowl, although I would prefer natural wood, no matter it was dark/red. I'm just a fan of wood as is.
Natural wood would have been a lovely option for many 😊
All came out sooo pretty. Yes fun... liked the drawer on legs , make a great plant holder sits high rather than like most plants on the floor.
Lovely ideas!! I particularly like the basket & how you bleached it, made all the difference! I shall be watching for more great ideas, thank you so much for sharing 😊
I'm so glad you enjoyed the video and the projects Hilary! The bleach made such a difference in the basket and I can't wait to find another one to try it one! Thanks for joining us!
After all the struggles you had with the wooden bowl, you got it just right! Prettier now than when it was new.
Agh, that bowl was such a pain! Perseverance paid off!
Love your channel…can’t wait to see more!
More to come!
These were very nice pieces. I'm not seen your channel before. I like very much the basket on tall legs. That was unique I've not seen anything like that before.

The basket really needed a bleaching because of the mildew I’m loving the look of it now!
