    Great tips! Thanks! I don’t have a cabinet so I painted my fire extinguisher black matte! I will paint my external filter too for a nice touch!

    This video is going to save me a lot of money thank you so much. I was about to buy a jbl regulator which was £120... consolatory new to this so I really want to get it right. You make it look easy 😅 I’m looking at welding regulators on eBay would you mind if you get a sec just to look at the top result for welding regulator on eBay and tell me if this will work? It’s called - Dual Gauge Gas Bottle Regulator CO2 Argon Mig Tig Welding 0-315 Pressure Reducer

    The welding regulator is a great idea as it’s still likely has been built to much tighter tolerances than some of the ones supplied for aquascaping.

    The fire extinguisher will deliver liquid CO2 into the regulator, which isn't ideal (and could cause it to freeze). Admittedly your flow rates are likely very low, so this may be less of an issue than with other CO2 applications (like Sodastream etc..), but your safest bet would be to mount the extinguisher upside down.

    • @chrispowell6594
      @chrispowell6594  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks for the comment Peter, it's a widely used method and like you state the low flow rate probably prevent damage to the regulator.
      I would only use the correct way up as upside-down would require some kind of stand 😀

    The thing is, the same companies that sell these CO2 fire extinguishers, could have sold you a similarly sized CO2 bottle used for welding, at the same exact price, with the correct thread and it would also be refillable at that company.
