I am a mild no blade feel kind of guy and shaved with the mild today - it’s not mild at all however, it has become a favorite as it delivers an incredible shave - truly fantastic! Great video!
I think that you would need precision measuring equipment to spot how they reduce the blade gap. But blade trigonometry and exposure is the same. But yes, the original would be ideal for you. Thanks for watching Gary
I am a mild guy for sure - Rockwell 6S 3 plate, Karve B plate, PAA Meta-4 but the best shaved is the Outlaw mild - compared to these razors, the mild is actually pretty aggressive but it gives the best shave! I love the Outlaw Mild it’s exceptional!
Hey Jim I’m a new subscriber. I enjoy your videos. I’m a daily shaver that uses a superspeed flair tip. Do you think the mild would works best for me? I only do 2 passes and I never go against the grain because my skin can’t take it. Thanks Jim
Welcome aboard my friend. If you're looking for a two pass I would recommend the regular Outlaw. Especially as you don't shave against the grain. One pass wtg and xtg with the regular Outlaw will work well. I hope this helps
Hi Jim. According to Brian, from Executive Shaving, the mild is meant to be like a DE89 or a 34C. Was that how yours felt, Jim? BTW, thanks for returning my Core and thanks for the soap. 😀
Hi Jim, Had my first shave with my new mild Outlaw today. Stunning razor and just as efficient as my standard Outlaw I think. I bought it with the new elegant handle as I already have the sure and supergrip. These razors take a lot of beating in my book. Dave.
@@JimWillShave Hi Jim, I have just watched this video again as Mark of Friendship shaving has had issues in his comparison shave video. Check it out and you may be able to help him. Stay safe mate! Dave.
Howdy Jim! New sub from the great State of Texas 🇨🇱 . I found y’all doing research on the ES Outlaw Razor. I’m leaning toward the mild version as I prefer milder razors with a nice sharp blade (Feather, Nacet, and Astra Greens are my preferred). I’m a two pass WTG face shaver with pickups and one pass WTG dome shaver with pickups. I wear a mustache and full goatee (round beard of sorts), so no issue with having to shave those areas. 6S plate 2/3 and SB-B CB Karve are my usual face shavers and 6S plate 3 for dome and same CB Karve plate. I’m prone to ingrown hairs if there’s positive blade exposure. Neutral to negative blade exposure is best for me. Your thoughts.
Hello Brad, thanks for the subs buddy. I don't find the Mild version to be that mild. As I say in the video "it's milder" than the original, but not by much. If you don't shave your goatee either version would suit you just fine. But it would make more sense to go for the Mild. There is a positive blade feel, but with a Nacet it's very smooth indeed. You'll definitely find it more aggressive than your 6S and Karve set up. For instance my 6S on r4 and Karve on plate C feel more mild than the Outlaw Mild
@@JimWillShave Much appreciate advice and thanks for the quick reply. 🙏🏼 I’ll watch a few others vids and come to a decision. I’d sure like to have this one in the den if it will work for me. I post a twice per week (Wed/Sat) SOTD on my IG page if you’re interested. @gnpjammer1988
I am very interested in the MILD version of the Outlaw. I usually use Rockwell 6C R3, GameChanger .68 and Karve brass "B". Is the MILD Outlaw in that range? I do shave daily and enjoy multiple (3-4) passes.
The Mild version is definitely more aggressive than the Karve on plate B. I would liken it to maybe the Rockwell 6S on R4/5. I've never used the Game Changer (yet). So I can't make a comparison with that. I hope this helps you U Tei.
@@JimWillShave Receivedmy Outlaw M on X-mas Eve. So now after 4 shaves (Gillette 7i‘Clock SP) I am absolutely happy with the Outlaw. I will soon try other blades, the SP is none of my favourite ones. And still the shaves were simply great 👍🏼
Jim Will Shave will try that in my regular outlaw. I use the comfort coated lab blue and they give a good shave. Gillette silver blue and Wilkinson sword (German) are also good. Will have to give the Personna platinum a go.
Leaf razor is also very good. Am on the Kickstarter for the new twig and looking forward to the version two leaf razor which should have a smaller head so will make getting under the nose easier.
Hi Jim, late commenting again as I’ve only subscribed 😂 it looks to me like the blade on the mild outlaw is torqued down further so the gap is reduced 🤔🤔 there both great razors tho👍
One of my patients has just brought me his Outlaw to try for 6 months. I tried it last night. It's an amazing razor.
Yes, I saw your Facebook post. Is it the mild or regular?
Although I can't find any significant difference between the two.
It's the regular one Jim.
Nice shave Jim and interesting conclusion.
Had a shave with the original Outlaw a few hours ago and it still impresses me, exceptional razor.
Cheers Tal. The Outlaw don't mess around. Super close shave

Thank you David. Definitely not mild. I treat it like the R41!
No room for error
Interesting comparison Jim👍 I love my EJ 3one6 & my .84 Gamechanger so I guess if and when I buy one of these it will be the original.

Interesting compare. If the mild does the job, I prefer the less aggressive. Well done.
It does feel more comfortable Mark. Thanks for watching buddy

I really love the Alpha razor. This was an excellent comparison. I didn’t know a “mild” version existed actually!
Recent addition.
Are you going to buy one Ken?
Jim Will Shave I have the regular and am totally happy with it as is
Cheers Jimmy. I'll Google that
Great shave Jim.
Hope all is well.
Thanks Samuel. You too buddy

You're very welcome Mark. It could be likened to an 89 yes. But I only noticed a little difference atg on the goatee.

The new handle looks stunning Dave. Do you notice much difference between the two razors?

@@JimWillShave Do you think his Outlaw is off? I know it isn't that much milder but mine shaves extremely well.
Dave.
Both of them are good looking razors Jim.

Hello jim, I have a question. Is the Mild version more effective than an Edwin Jagger DE89?
If they both look the same, how do you tell them apart visually. Is there any marking on them?
Yes Nathan. The mild has a M etched into the base plate
another de razor to look at is the hurricane de razor watch video on it by kevy shaves or paul films
Cheers John. I haven't heard of the Hurricane. Thanks for the heads up buddy
hi john here i bought the hurricane razor waiting on it watch video on it by paul films or kevy shaves
Will do John. Cheers buddy
when i get one i will get original outlaw de razor
Good idea John. Very little if any difference between them

What Personna blade did you use in the regular outlaw? Lab blue comfort coated, med prep, Israeli?
Personna Platinum (blue) in both razors.

They're releasing a rubber grip to slide onto the handle too
