    As a mostly melee build the only times I've really struggled in act 3 was with the Tigerman Warlord heroes. They can just randomly crit you for up to 2000 damage on normal, it's insane.

    31:20 probably the best vendor dialogue in the game.

    Love your videos, even as someone who played a fair bit of TQ many many years ago; still picking up a tonne of great info!
    BTW - A Summoner with max core dweller can easily kill typhon, since the core dweller is almost immune to the cyclops roars and the vitality damage it seems (at least on normal) mine was 17/16 base with only inner fire (no wildfire or metamorphosis yet) and a max Heart of Oak/Heal/Earth Enchant (just the base skills). Even if you haven't snapshotted your pet with a mastery shrine yet, you can grab the mastery shrine right before Typhon and summon a new core dweller as you are running anti-clockwise to the north of his arena for the battle/frost shrine.
    Don't forget that staves are actually insane single target damage in normal mode with earth enchantment on, I had a pretty crappy green fire staff and was still easily pulling over 800 sheet dps; not to mention with the shrine buffs on. This will absolutely eat typhon alive, even if you simply let the core dweller die... but you might want to heal him once Typhons spikes come out, since you will kill yourself to the reflect if you keep attacking anyway.
    Now on farm in Epic, without any other additional skills - your staff will not increase much in dps, even with a better base (I still only do about 1k dps at lvl 66, but the flat +dmg pet gear really starts appearing so my pets are carrying me and not the other way around now)
    That being said, you will definitely struggle on the last boss of Ragnarok with a core dweller/fire staff build - I stubbornly kept pushing through; but it probably took me around 10 minutes of juking the meteors to kill him... not recommended haha. Definitely worth grabbing at least a staff of the chosen in act 5 for it (from the south west boss of the 5 elemental ones that drop orbs) even if you aren't a poison build. The drop rate actually isn't too bad for them. Seen up to 350-400 combined poison dmg over 3 secs, with some additional damage mods; the projectile speed will really help with hitting the annoying enemies in act 5 :)

    The only hard part about Act 3 for me are those damn Dragon Archers and Mages.

    Two notes for Xmax players:
    The Three Sisters quest is bugged in most versions of the mod. As is normal for Xmax, all the quest-target monsters are doubled, tripled, or more, including the Tigerman Warlord at the end of the pier... even though there isn't enough room for extra spawns there. So the second/third/etc. copies of the Warlord spawn in the river instead. ...Probably, because the water makes them apparently invisible. Good luck reaching them without Trance of Wrath, Volcanic Orb, or some other type of terrain-ignoring AOE, and even then there's some guesswork involved.
    The Dragonians are no longer the most dangerous enemies in the last big room of the Obsidian Halls. Instead, it's the Abyssal Liches close to the entrance. In Xmax, the two that are there normally are instead closer to two dozen, so there's just a cloud of incoming spell projectiles the moment you enter the room and it feels awesome when you finally get through it without dying. (More likely, you'll just kill a few of them at a time between respawns.)

    Actually as a pet master you must only do a positioning game at Typhon. Since boss will target you, you'll have to let the pets get in melle, after that you simply rotate the boss to face you, leaving pets behind him safely. Nymph is a little bit harder to protect since it is much easier to let her offscrean and she''ll randomly teleport to you and will eventually be killed.
    For the reflective spikes you simply stay at max range , when you see spikes you flee offscrean and pets will follow, so now is a matter of waiting and repositioning the pets.

      I play a champ that way (no full clear and farm my fav spots) and I find him very usefull and enjoyable gameplay. Also very effective till end of epic.

      That's easier said than done. I spent twenty minutes fighting him in my pure-pet Ritualist game a couple days ago, and just because I /noticed/ that Typhon preferred to target me over my wolves didn't mean that I could effectively move them out of harm's way while I was busy doing the same. Oftentimes, a newly-summoned Nymph didn't last two seconds before she got caught in the flamethrower. The Nightmare was my only pet with any sense of self-preservation and most of them didn't last more than 30 seconds at a time either.
      The only other boss in this run that was anywhere near that hard (I'm currently saved in the regular-town part of City of Lost Souls) was the 3x Chimeras I suffered through before turning Xmax off for the rest of (at least) Normal.

      Since Typhon life transfers from pets, I've found it best to not replace wolves. The give Typhon too much life and end up being counter productive. The Nymph (maxed skills +4) will eventually take him down. You aggro Typhon and always juggle 4 positions: Nymph, Typhon, your character, and your character's escape route. Its a constant game best positioning. Resummon the Nymph if she gets borked and any non-nature pet you have.

    So in cave at 18:00 there is a secret passage at the end of the cave. The entrance is between the two torches right? But I don't remember how to enter it.

    Giant peng boss does not do vitality dmg - his roar is frostburn. only the champions deal vitality dmg.
    shades - after ragnarok they added %attack to healt conversion, however that dmg is lightning, not vitality.
    dragonian and tigermen casters projectiles they cast deal elemental dmg.

      Test the game using the character editing tools. Then scrap the test characters and play the game again.

    how do you go so fast, yet the mods don't "freeze in the air" when they die ? did you just speed up the video ? I read a bit about the gravity effect in ae, but I don't quite understand it. I really like playing fast, but I also really like seeing mobs fly after a hard hit ! Thanks !

    • @duelist43
      @duelist43 4 роки тому

      After many tests I discovered a reason for that "freeze pose" - if the mob dies due to damage over time he will freeze in his death animation. You can inflict a lot of hits, but if last 1 HP removed by a dot tick - mob will "freeze".

      Green item that can only drops from certain mob different kind of unique so to say which can roll similarly yo rares with different pre/suffix.
      Bramblewood bow for example has a 0.3% chance of dropping from regular mobs in act 3 and is a very good item.
      Going back to PoE gor heist btw?

    Is a Hallowed helment only for INT users? If I have a Conqueror, what would you recommend I get instead?

    • @ProKiwiYT
      @ProKiwiYT 4 роки тому +1

      If you happened to still be curious, Hallowed is a prefix that can role on any green or monster infrequent helm, strength or int. As far as I know it only rolls for helms but may hit other armour (I'm confident its helms only but not sure).

    I bought this game in 2006 and still have the disks but never played through it. I recently bought the game and all the dlc on steam for 18 bucks and ran through it on normal with a hausprex and never really cared about resists or anything for that matter and it was a joke easy. Playing through normal again with a dragon hunter and some inherited gear im almost done with act 3 and havent even bothered to put skill points into attributes and still have 40 doing nothing and its even easier than the first time . This game isnt remotely hard with the ability to chug potiom after potion and bosses dont even reset after death ffs😂😂😂. I dont get why people think this is hard at all. Halfway through epic with the first toon from scratch and aside from killing things a little slower its not hard either. I doubt legendary will be much of a challenge either especially with the dragon hunter which just mows everything down in seconds.
