    Yesss, been waiting for this video! I need to try one of the extra shorts. The short versions of tips are always way longer than I prefer. I may get the oval ones and just file them a bit pointier since the almond are sold out. I know you said not to reshape them, but I've never had an issue.

      Yes, the cactus gelly is (to me) essentially like a builder gel. It’s much thicker than gel base and polish. The viscosity isn’t hard to work with either.

    Hi Carole! When using these, you do so on your bare natural nail, correct? And you are also using a peel base before dipping. So how long do the gel tips last before you have to soak them off and reapply? Thanks for all of your videos! They really help!

    • @CaroleAnnette
      @CaroleAnnette  2 роки тому

      Hi, yes, I use the gelly tips on my bare natural nail. This whole process you saw in this video is on my ownnnails.
      I use peel base on top of the gelly tips, and then dip on top of those.
      If you have the right size, fit, prep and application, the tips should last you until it’s time to remove them.
      I have gone through many trials and errors with tips that weren’t perfect for my nail shape and would lift too soon. Now I can keep my tips on for 2ish weeks before I’m tired of the grow out and want a new set.

    I usually put a gel base coat on my natural now hear that, do not remove tacky later, and then go in with a builder Gel on my nail tip, whether it’s tip or full cover, and then add a little bit of builder Gel over top of my base coat and then apply the nail without curing. After the tip or full, cover, tip is applied, I go ahead and curate under the lamp. But I noticed when I use builder Gel, my nails tend to pop off, even if they have been etched on the underside of the nail tip or fake full cover now. !! So usually one to two days in the nail pops off. Then I have to gently file the underside of the nail to get rid of the cured product And then reattach the nail with some basecoat.!

    I’m always looking for new products that may work for me. I usually have the issue of tips/dips/gel/builder gel peeling off my nails in a day or two. I used a builder gel that you did a video on before and liked it, but after the first time I used it it decided to peel off. No matter how much prep I do to my nails it happens, and has for almost 20 years. How do you think this compares to the other builder gels? I’m just wondering if this will be something that works for me. Thanks.

  • @chelsea2923
    @chelsea2923 2 роки тому

    So do you refill these or do you just use peel base or file off the dip mani and do a new one leaving the gelly tips as they are?

    • @CaroleAnnette
      @CaroleAnnette  2 роки тому

      You can do either one. I prefer to re-do the whole set of gelly tips every few weeks.
      However, I use peel base over the gelly tips and pop off the dip when I’m ready for a new color.

      I’m sorry it took me so long to respond. I haven’t been in my nail room until now to check for you.

    At 11:50 what do you mean by “Builder Gel seeping out “? You had indicated this was done on natural nail. Also at 15:15 🙂
    Is Builder Gel the same as the Cactus Jelly you mentioned previously in video?

    • @CaroleAnnette
      @CaroleAnnette  2 роки тому

      Seeping out - meaning the gel is no longer located under the gelly tip, it is moving onto my skin, which is not good for gel products to do, as it can cause allergies over time.
      Yes, I am using the words cactus gelly and builder gel interchangeably here (probably shouldn’t have) they essentially have the same purpose, and most other brands gelly tip systems “gel” is a builder gel, so that’s what I’m most familiar with saying and using when applying gelly tips.
