This is the game that made me like the Sega Master System back when I was 8 in 1997 (yes, I had SNES and PS1 at the time), but my older cousin gave it to me. Also, I would get a NES a year later, but the Master System had some fine games (e.g. Shinobi, Space Harrier, OutRun, etc.)
Word of advice... nobody wants to watch you think about who you want to be and who do you want to play for about a minute and a half. When you're entertaining an audience, you need to make your selections quicker.
I loved this game; the thing I remember most is that, if you lined yourself up properly, you could turn around and shoot a three pointer from under your opponent’s goal. The spazzy soundtrack was a plus as well.
If you played this a lot, like me, you knew everything. Good tactic to get the ball back was walking in front of a dribbling player and stand still at the right moment so he would push you. Good old times. I mastered this shit.
GREAT MEMORIES!!!! Christmas 87 ALL Nintendo’s were completely sold out...I woke up on Christmas morning and I had a SMS never seen one before BUT I immediately became a sega fan!!!
Funny how we thought these games were so realistic and seeing them now they’re barely playable lol. The physics doesn’t make sense and the fouls seem so random. The good old days of 8 bit video games. I LOVED the Sega Master System and then especially the Sega Genesis. I never owned a Nintendo. I was the rebel in class that was a Sega guy and would get into debates all the time. Looking back now, Nintendo did have better games.

This is why we sent pros to the olympics.
This game was actually very fun to play
The only game where I knew when I made the shot before the shot went in. Just pay attention to the basketball shadow and its speed. 😁
The first game cartridge I owned. Not a good game, but lots of good memories.
It's not a good game, it's GREAT BASKETBALL

I use to play this game when I was 7. Im 35 now.
Same here, Chris Smith! I used to love this game. I would play it with my older brother.

That's kinda how it happened for me, I got the Nintendo the next Christmas
Couldn't watch the whole game but if you go to the half court line in the upper part of the screen and shoot you'll make every shot.
All the way from half court? Are you sure?
The ball dribbling sounds like pug snorts.
You think so?
Better than Pat Riley Basketball on Genesis , no joke
It's very similar
This game was really good, controls are OK, I spent months on it alone in tournament or in versus mode with my friends.
far cry from Double Dribble but it sure was fun

Man the refs really screwed us on this one. Devastating loss. When are we going to trade for some real talent?
The game is easy, easy = fun.
Fake. This is actually just a video game, not real footage.
