    It's mindblowing thinking of how people live their lives in the tunnel for such a long time - the way they cook under the tunnel is the most mindblowing thing for me. What shock you most ? 🤯

    So glad to be back on UA-cam again! I don't know if you guys get notified in our UA-cam community tab or not, but we left the message there for the reason why we have not uploaded the video for such a long time - this is by far the longest time we disappear from UA-cam community as we teamed up with other content creators, exploring the east of Kazakhstan ( the border area of China, Russia, and Mongolia ) there is no WiFi there but it was a fun 7 days and we are so excited to share the travel experience with you all ! However, you can also see some of the glimpses of our journey in Kazakhstan from our Instagram >> bit.ly/2SGZOJo - it is in the Kazakhstan highlight!

    The only complain I have about your channel is that you don't have a bigger thumbs-up button for me to click . Look like you found a good local guide in Phuc Map. Cu Chi tunnel is a much more significant symbol of Vietnam's resolve to win back the country from foreign elements than what you see on the surface. Unlike other war sites around the world where everything is huge and grand, Cu Chi tunnel itself has such a low key and low profile appearance, but I guess that what makes it unique and special. Glad to see you were able to visit it and thanks for sharing your experience.

      @@kauwela51 I only went to VN as a tourist. I was born in '68 and from the UK. Sorry if I gave the wrong impression. Shame you can't go back, there's plenty of war stuff to look at such as cu chi tunnels, war museums etc. I visited Cu Chi (it's one of the main tourist attractions) and was pleased I did. I remember thinking how unbearable it must have been in the stifling jungle heat alone not to mention all the other stuff. They took great pride in demonstrating how industrious the Viet Cong were in making traps made from melted down shrapnel from US bombs. More bombs = more material for making traps.
      That same industrious approach is endemic across the country though and now Viet Nam is very much on the rise with arguably the worlds fastest growing economy. Many manufacturers are moving production there as it's cheaper labour than China and now even more so as a handy "work around" to the latest trade war tariffs.

    Robert McNamara was the Secretary of Defense When J.F.K was President. In his later years, he admitted the war in Vietnam was a huge mistake. You can look that up on yt. Yet the USA is still engaged in huge mistakes in many other countries to this day. We don't seem to have exit plans for wars. What is the goal? When are we done? When do we leave? What did we intend to accomplish? Were any goals met? When I was 18 I realized that war may be more political and economical than just stopping bad people from killing us as in World War II. So I became a police officer and could see the difference in what I did in a community, instead of some huge political battle. Jim. What is your opinion?

    • @lauraochamney6187
      @lauraochamney6187 5 років тому +3

      @christopher stimpson Things were far more complicated than just the war itself. Look at what's happening now in the Southeast Sea, where Communist China is trying to control everything using One Belt Road initiative to aggressively invade Vietnam and other countries around the world. Vietnamese fishermen could not even catch fish in their own waters. The Chinese fishermen and marines continue viciously harassing Vietnamese fishermen in Vietnam's waters. "Yet the USA is still engaged in huge mistakes in many other countries to this day. We don't seem to have exit plans for wars"? Not Trump administration, though. Trump has slowly pulled the US troops from Afghanistan. Did you know the Vietnam War Remnants Museum in Saigon was all financially and politically supported by Communist China to demean the US?

    The practice of putting things into coffee(filler) is popular around the world, even in the us they allow a big amount of filler into the coffee. But it’s even more complicated, even if you have 100% percent coffee in there, there’s alot of factors such as the bean is not collected ripe, defect bean havent picked out, the tree didnt grown the right way... This becuz of the false demand of the consumer, they want their coffee more dense and black. Now we are at the beginning of 3rd wave coffee, try specialty coffee. Next time you come here, go to Da Lat, it’s the coffee hub of vietnam.

    • @hoangvan4360

      Michael Mc Conahy they can not do anything. The fact that in the past, after heavy raining or flood, the tunnels were probably collapsed and they had to dig the new system (even though there was a drain system go through the river). But nowadays, it is the historical place so the government and architecture reinforce them with cement or some special material so it doesnt the matter if raining or flooding now. That just my thoughts and saw via internet, maybe it's wrong but i think it's make sense 😁

    Those tunnels are small and that's why American soldiers couldn't sneak in to find Victor Charlies (VCs). Tourists with medical conditions should NOT go in.
