- Hi, my name is Yara and I'm an 18-year-old exchange student who just got back home from an amazing year!!

I thought all exchange students were forced to go home in March due to Covid. How'd you get to stay? Glad your exchange year was worth it!
originalresqme we weren’t forced to go home it was an advice... but after I discussed it with my family and host family we decided it was safer for me to stay then to travel all the way back home.

Hi! I’m from the Netherlands and I went to grade 11, so junior year. All the exchange students at my school went to this year:)
Yara, did you have other exchange students go to the same school or to the USA?
Hi! Yes I had 2 other exchange students that went to my school, both from Brazil. One of them became my best friend, she’s the girl in my Q&A video!!
And with my organization we had monthly meetings with all the exchange students in our region, and then we did fun things like paintball, to the mall and more fun things:)
what program you join in student exchange?

I went the Dutch organization Travel Active, but they work together with Ayusa. I hope this helps:)

The site is Ayusa.org and for the Dutch site it’s travelactive.nl (although I don’t think the Dutch site can help you much, seeing its in Dutch) but I hope you can find the information that you’re looking for on the other site.

When I left I was 17 and I turned 18 while I was there!

It’s a High School Exchange year and I went with Ayusa (Travel active is the Dutch partner organization)
