Showing your dog to get clout is a woman/beta thing and I dislike it. Let your content stand on it's own rather than resort to some weird appeal to emotion gimmick...
I like your delivery of “late to the funeral.” Trust your gut and your writing dude, a lot of people like your sense of humor! I had a good chuckle at that!
This is the story of Tardy Teddy, a guy who was late for everything... People always told him "Teddy, you'll be late at your own funeral". And when he died, he was simply know as... the late Teddy.
I have fond memories of this game. My friends and i would play it every day after school. I personally LOVED how the game emphasized the impacts (when they flash) and how they bounced off walls as well as the character designs. i will be playing this again in the future for nostalgia.
I liked this a lot! As always, good work, my friend, keep it up. These videos are a highlight of my mornings while I'm getting ready for my soul-crushing work days lol. Also Clyde
I like how each character is listed to be over 50 feet tall but the world is equally huge so there's no scale disparity between the fighters and the environment, which makes everything look completely normal.
@@SNESdrunk heck yeah man that sounds so awesome... Im from MN and I still live here. Not sure why though, I mean it'll always be home but... I still want to uproot for awhile and go to a warmer area. I am thankful the temps are now hitting the 40°s again but dang 70 sounds like heaven.
This game features a Venus Flytrap named DIO. They should have used a 16bit version of Holy Diver for stage music. I mean come on....the opportunity was right there!
Hey Clyde! I remember seeing you on a more serious video regarding a more serious matter. I'm glad you bring joy to the Drunk's heart when he has to play garbage like this. -- FYI: I remember playing this when it was available on Sega Channel. Even as a young boy I remember this being terrible...
Man this literally gave me a flashback , had totally forgotten about this game, obviously for good reason . Still quite like the character design though, even remember laughing at Larry 😂
Even if I'm not using this video to gauge whether or not I should play this game, this was still an entertaining video. Keep up the awesome work, Drunk/Clyde!
I love your honest reviews, even if the game sucks, that's why we follow you mr drunk lol.. but also hoping those games you mentioned will also get a review, especially if you say they're at least " interesting" . We rely on you for educating us also on the good stuff!! Looking forward
I just found out there was a second Eternal Champions game on Sega CD. Between that, Shining Force CD, and Popful Mail, I guess I'm in the market for a Sega CD now... or uh, some sort of reasonable alternative...
I feel like this game would probably benefit from a more fleshed out remake. Honestly, the concept of twelve planets in a star system sending a worthy fighter to save their race from extinction sounds rad as hell.
Drunk, I like the channel, the vids and you a lot, dude! Love your humor! But seeing Clyde totally made me enjoy the rest of my day! Ya all have a great one!
I’m halfway through this video and I gotta say you was not lyin about wanting to have fun with the bad games. It’s what keeps me and I’m sure everybody else.
3:30 "The music is uh, well, I already mentioned the music. I guess the backgrounds are....uh, well, I guess I already mentioned those too. Here's my dog Clyde." 😂 So happy we finally got to see Clyde by the way 😁
Was it just my mistake, or was the robotic “Grinder” character named “Beowulf” in the character select screen? Also “Equus” was “Flamer” in the character select. Can you change the names or just different versions??
I see what you did there: Dog Clyde IS THE SECRET FIGHTER of this game. You'd think no one would be smart enough to unmask you cunning move but, wazaa! Busted! :B :)
You know what's funny? I used to feel exactly like you did. Fighting Masters was one of two games I got with my second Sega Genesis in the mid 2000s (the other game being Sonic the Hedgehog 2) and, after the super cool intro, the blood-pumping theme song and the insane roster of fighters got me hyped up, I was super letdown once I got to the actual gameplay. "Punches only stun? Only grapples and jump kicks do damage? This game blows!" However, over time, Fighting Masters has become a guilty pleasure of mine. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone but I guess those cool characters (go Phoenix!) and the incredibly unique fighting system (which kind of, sort of, plays like a 2D wrestling game with how important grapple moves are) finally won me over after years of me putting the game down. Side note, I had no idea Dirk was called Larry in certain versions of the game! That's fucking hilarious! EDIT: Turns out most of the characters got their names changed in a later version of the game (which is the version I own). Elepha was renamed Mastodon, Flamer was renamed Equus, ect.
You should do a list video about the good and bad games from a specific developer, compare and contrast what they tried, their successes and failures, and could possibly end with their legacy or how they helped the video game industry Just a thought, love your videos
The only thing Fighting Masters had going for it were the trading cards that were packed in with the cartridge. Aside from that? Feel like I should apologize for buying this in 1992.
I wasn't going to leave a comment except for three things. 1.Clyde the wiener dog is adorable. 2.Go Whalers. 3.A game that might give this a run for it's money is the Genesis port of the arcade game Time Killers.
This game plot was Dragon Ball Super Tournament of Power Arc before Dragon Ball Super Tournament of Power Arc. And I agree with everyone, the character designs are indeed cool. Even _Larry_ manages to be special through the sheer averageness of his own design. Hope you and Clyde have a nice rest of both your lives ♡
I rented this game in like, 1994 or so, it gave me memories.... like, don’t pick a game based on how badass the cover art or game name is..... still liked it tho.
You didn't mention the final boss who was like double your size. I sunk way too many hours into this game way back when even though I knew it was garbage. You can cheese rather well with Rotundo's jump attack.
It's a shame. When it comes to games with a wide variety of characters to play as (typically fighting games of course), I really value some good creative character designs. I don't really get excited about choosing between "Random guy", "Random bigger guy" or "Random guy in different clothes". Like, yeah, Street Fighter is obviously great and the characters are iconic now, but if I didn't already know who they were, none of them would stick out in my memory. They look fine, sure, but they're kind of just a collection of random faces that don't really grab me. But an anthropomorphic kickboxing horse? Weird sarcophagus head guy? Being able to play a fighting game as an actual straight-up dragon? Those are some awesome character designs that really stick out. Unfortunately creative character design can only do so much. No amount of creativity can make up for a game just sucking to actually play. Real shame there. ...also I'm not embarrassed to admit I reached out to pet Clyde when he approached the camera don't judge me
I had this game growing up. The Genesis and this game (with a couple of others) were a hand me down from my cousin. It may suck, but it is nostalgic for me. I enjoyed your video. Would love to see someone decide this IP will be remastered.
HERE'S MY DOG, CLYDE!! Your Clyde T Dog video was a VERY articulate representation of some mental health issues. Be well, and keep making these great videos even if the game is to be avoided!
I remember playing this game back in 1992. It wasn't so bad back then. I used to play the Medusa dude all the time... I think. The scrolling up and down looked cool in the fights.
I’m just here for Clyde.
@matt fahringer And I hate cats. I've trained my pitbull to be a feline murdering machine.
That's Clyde T. Dogg to you, and the rest of us.
Clyde doesn't fuck around.
We’re ALL here for Clyde tbh haha
I'm just here.
Clyde's a good boy. He's such a boy
I like Clyde
Clyde! I recommend petting a dog ANY WAY YOU CAN.
You wouldn't download a dog...
Which emulator will run the Dog?
Clydemulator, of course!
@@Projectwolfie21 EMUClyde 9X is a way better Clyde emulator.
Does that include using my penis ?
Clyde should be in more videos of bad games. Just at random. "And so this video isn't a total waste, look at my dog!"
Thomas Crummett I would have been happy for the rest of the video to have just been Clyde 🤣
Dog saved the video. Wish the dog was around when I got this game at funcoland way back when. Me and my step bro were sooo excited..... 🤮
What if it was Clyde playing the game, then walking away

Oh, so that's what all the kids mean these days when they talk about this DIO character. This plant guy from Fighting Masters for the Sega Genesis!
Hip indeed indeed
Clyde completely saves this game. Best secret character ever. :)
I have fond memories of this game. My friends and i would play it every day after school. I personally LOVED how the game emphasized the impacts (when they flash) and how they bounced off walls as well as the character designs. i will be playing this again in the future for nostalgia.
And the legendary name shall be shouted from the mountain, the name of “Larry”
Tony ThePokemonGuy short for “Larold”
I like how the music really kicks in when Clyde shows up. That should be his theme song.
"All three backgrounds" ...Oh.
PHOENIX! The legendary bird of fire! VERSUS ...Larry
Hahaha XD
ALL HAIL CLYDE! SAVIOR OF FIGHTING MASTERS!
I just love this game. Nostalgia plays a big part of it, but it actually has a lot of (crap) personality and is playable when you learn some moves.
The game need a rework...
You thought it was a venus flytrap, but it was me... *DIO!*
They are on jojo references before they were a thing!
I liked this a lot! As always, good work, my friend, keep it up. These videos are a highlight of my mornings while I'm getting ready for my soul-crushing work days lol.

Larry: Savior of the Universe

I almost heard you saying: "avoid this any way you can"
Few days ago I searched the net for the name of this game, and today you post it.. anyway when I was child I loved this game.. but it was hard

They can’t all be great games, but you’re always a great reviewer.
I'm so flippin jealous of how warm it is where you live.
It's the best. 70 degrees today in ABQ. I've lived here for almost 6 years (originally from MN) and I'm still not used to it.

Clyde is the only redeeming thing about Fighting Masters.
I'm hitting like solely because of the Clyde segment.
The 1986 HARTFORD WHALERS!
Yesss doggy clyde is back! XD
all things considered, back in the day, before SF2, we actually had lots of fun with this game on my local game rental store
Dude, there's a fighter called LARRY there. Everybody with badass names and he's simply... LARRY. hahahaha!
Really, I hadn't reach that part when you expose the same feeling, before I write about LARRY! lol

Different versions. Larry was Dirk in some versions
Came for the review, stayed for the Hartford Whalers, completed existence with Clyde.
Even an objectively bad game can be a fun subject when presented with energy and clever humor. Thanks for the vid!
