Enju you can do it with anyone, the point of it is to give one champ all the xp and gold so they can get their power spike items. So mostly midlaners because they can carry. It is used to gain elo, but because of its success, the pros are doing it.
Yeah, you can gold funnel on any champion. Some people funnel it onto the Jungler due to their map presence, some onto their mid laners to open the map and make them snowball, and others the bot lane carries so they reach their power spikes much faster.
It's pretty much always funneled onto the "Jungler" since you usually want to take smite for maximum jungle exp & clear. (But yeah, the jungler can be anything. Yi, Karthus, Kai'Sa to name a few popular ones. Basically any champ that has good wave + jungle clear & can carry)

ManVu yeah once he joined envy he really started to shine. at first i thought it was just the strength of apollo AND hakuho but now its pretty obvious apollo is just very skilled. not to say anything about hakuho or the duo. i think apollo/hakuho are one of the strongest bot duos and both apollo AND hakuho are extremely talented.
Hakuho is much more underrated. Hakuho has been top 5 supports in the league since he has been in LCS. I think Apollo needs to be a more risky laner to see if he is really as underrated as people say he is. Also a lot of ADCs would look really good with Hakuho in their lane.

I'm from South Africa, and me and my room mate use to cheese hiemedinger fiddlesticks bot. before adc became nerfed. Now Our cheeze combo is even stronger. I cant believe no one ever plays Hiemer/Fiddle bot. Its a brutal sick COMBO. If any one reads this and trys it with a mate. Let me know please because its such a fun bot DUO. You will definitely get bot tower by 10 minutes.

The reason ADC's are less viable is because yea, marksmen do a shit ton of damage but you get blown up by literally everyone. It a recent Tyler1 game, an 8/8 Cait was able to get 1 shot by a 1/14 Diana that built boots, unenchanted jungle item, and 3 Dora's rings because they were so behind. I love ADCs but its so frustrating when someone randomly 1 shots you even if you're 15/1.
I've never liked having bot as a dedicated marksman lane, especially now that we have viable marksmen for the top, mid, and jg. This adds a lot of variability to the META, which is a nice change imo.
Lets be honest its trash meta. U can pick anything and it still better than adc. Soloq is full of trolls now
It feels so good to hear pro players be honest that they are bad at certain champions or roles.
Fuck I'm gold and for 4 years I suck so much ass at mid n adc. I just do things way much better than most others do in support, jungle, top.
ADC isn't very flexible with what you have to build and their scaling with other statistics that you get from growing naturally each level or from items besides just ad and a bit or ap.
Also there are matches when i do okay or so damn well because I got lucky or my teamwork with my support is so better than the enemy... Having that damage power feels great but there is that problem of you most likely not going to survive an attack combo from a top laner, mid or an assassin champion.
The only adcs I liked playing in league is Twitch, Ashe, Ezreal. Twitch isn't easy as everyone say so about him but back in the day and present day he has good scouting, able to position in places that can get the enemy killed in some situations also if fed he can melt alot of people down in team fights.
Ashe is a great pick for me because as a strict support main who doesn't just focus on bot lane but focuses on the entire map for the whole game I can give global vision and communicate with my jungler, mid laner and sometimes top laner. I also ping the exact angel and location where my ult is going to land which is a god send for my top laners, I tend to save my ult to assist my top laner more than killing the enemy bot lane XD haha I've had to tell my support that I'm playing it chill. I will kill the enemy bot in team fights or if we get tons of help early just so I can farm easily and grass on the enemy jungler's location.
Ezreal is similar to ashe, like I can land my skillshots very easily and commit well to a trade.
It's cus of my map knowledge that I rather just play these 3 adc champions if I get forced to play that miserable role, I don't know how the fuck you adc mains can put up with all this bullshit. you boiz/gurlz are fukin' crazy.

Rengar on the Hunt your job as an ADC isn't to kill tanks. That's for bruisers. Your job as an ADC is to take towers.
Simple. That's it. If you have enough DPS to shred a tank before he slaps you to death like you want to be able to do, it's too high.
Derploop on the other hand: what has been absent from competitive meta throughout season 6 and basically up until recently? Bruisers. Because they got smacked by tanks in lane. Then adcs kind of took over the role of tank killer, and I agree that adcs shouldn’t melt a tank in mere seconds. But you do need something that will deal with the tanks. Adc’s should kill tabks because they can kite them. Skill oriented gameplay. Not because they just stand there and lifesteal temselves up on your 4000hp healthpool
Bruisers do and always have beaten tanks, they just didn't have enough team fight utility/ survivability to be more useful than tanks, especially when they don't build full tank and ADCs had such high DPS and survivability. The game was generally resolved by a team fight, so tanks were better despite not winning lane.
And yeah, I agree with the life steal sentiment. Issue is, ADCs are almost all given super aids mobility on top of move speed boosting items. They don't exactly make it hard, and this is another thing that comes back to bite less durable and generally immobile bruisers. In high Elo, Darius could shit on his lane and a support/top tank would provide peel while the ADC dashes away and then because there's no tank to engage for the Darius because top had to play tank, Darius gets smacked because he's meant to be second into the fight. Then the team without Darius wins the fight because tanks and sups enable the ADC, who is way too strong, while Darius' team had Darius not a tank, who couldn't enable the ADC as well. (Most of this should probably be in past tense, thing are a bit more fluid right now, although Riot are in the process of rebreaking ADCs right now by removing all of their early game weakness again. Oh well, at least their spike isn't 2000 gold cheaper than anyone else in the game any more.)
There are very few tanks that could ever go even with bruisers in lane, post first buff Ornn being the one that springs to mind (he was a monster, very fun though). The issue was always that tanks enabled carries better and seeing as bot lane was SO much better than top because they had an extremely wide set of abilities, a super cheap build, hard scaling per item and no reason to ever go into a position where a bruiser would have an advantage over them, while non tank tops are mostly about 1v1s or 2v1s if strong, the utility provided by a tank was more important than the tank going down 50+ cs in lane to an inflexible lane bully.

Honestly I haven’t tried with this new boy lane meta since I main mid top with a champion pool of ekko, zed, Zoe, and vel’koz so for me nothing in league has changed as I just gank a bot or scout jg and go back mid to farm honestly it’s all late game that I can see where this meta is going in a weird direction. It’s honestly too quick now. I now get games that end before 30 min. Honestly I know it’s great having less time in a game lets people do other things in the real world. But since games are shorter so is showing skill expression for me since I’m an overly aggressive laner so games live and die if my aggression fails or not. But with how games are now one mistake is just enough to end a game for me so it isn’t as fun. Not only that I’m the last of my friends that still play league regularly so fun is a commodity. I can’t believe I’m saying this but I had more fun during the shield meta and tanks. It was s team and individual effort back then now it’s either learn to play passive or lose the game entirely. ( btw I only play normal draft cause obviously being “ too aggressive “ isn’t an ideal playstyle in ranked)
Hopefully with this, Riot actually buffs adc’s for once in their time during esports time, then just nerf the late game on them by a bit so they’re not like super op late with insanely bad early games, where the game is decided

I think this is all to appeal to next season, where Riot suggested ranks for each different role - so you don't have to learn new champions to have all your lanes be even in rank. My theory is that they want to nerf ad carries before they are being able to be played everywhere (which they [in theory] were able to already), and allows for more champions to be played in the adc role. This is due to the fact that in the previous meta, marksmen could fill many other roles and had their own exclusive (w/ exceptions) role too, meaning that if you wanted all your lanes to be even in rank next season, you would be REQUIRED to learn an adc. With the current meta next season, it is less questionable for someone to go bruiser, tank, or ap. This means that ap mid, and top lanes could play adc without being learning a new playing style.

As a long time adc main, nor I hate this meta nor I like it either. From one side, its fun because of new picks and learning mages are great for a change, however on the other hand I don't like that crit adc's are terrible in soloq - I enjoy playing them.

I still find it better to play normal marksman champs as adc in lower ranks like mine (gold).
I got my first two S as Jinx on this meta...the only thing I love about this meta is:
Top taking Ignite instead of teleport takes off so much pressure of bot.
Mid roaming top from time to time makes it so I don't have to 2 v 4 as often.
Junglers sometimes fight over scuttle if I react accordingly I can get their jungle behind instead if "I visit you you die and your goat too"

If you play Diamond + if they play adc you still camp bottom. Why? Because they are so weak it's basicaly free kill, kill turret at 5min, open the map and snowball. They re basicaly fucked thats why my average 15min
That’s the thing is this meta benefits low elo players who don’t know how to play the game correctly. If you are playing against a bad jg who doesn’t know how to punish adc is still ok. I am assuming since you only have 2 S ranks you are low elo or only play normals

You know this is basically what happens in top every patch but I ain't hearing that much complaint
The only thing that made me really sad about this meta are the nerfs to Taric. They could have thought of other ways of nerfing Funneling without making him actually worthless as a teamfighting champion. Yeah, I know being diverse is good, and my support pool is still fine, but I feel they were super harsh and didn't even address the larger problem. One of my favorite pocket picks against aggressive AD teams.
Oh and fuck the overbuffed Brand and Vlad. They've been a problem for quite awhile but the Ardent meta of overshields and heals softened it. Now that Riot essentially cut that out, they're back in strong straights.

While I understand the whole idea of defining adcs as a late game powerhouse who needs to scale hard, they did the same with Kassadin. And Kassadin currently is also not meta for a multitude of reasons. ADCs are meant to be tank killers but even just an early bortk and IE isn't enough to nullify early defense stacks on tanks, especially with Thornmail becoming more and more important with the extra viability on Yasuo (P.S Lord Dominiks is also not as good because the armor pen is less and the giant slayer passive (which was a godsend for dealing with tanks) is gone and early last whispers are not beneficial at all). Honestly I myself am a pretty average adc with a lot of room to learn, but I feel that in Solo Queue games that tend not to hit the 35-40 min mark, the scaling required is nigh impossible unless you get super fed. Regardless, I'm gonna stay optimistic and try to adapt as much as possible

I think the issue with this isn't that other champs are played in the adc role. Its that actual marksman have been completely snuffed out. Seeing variety is cool but at the expense of an entire champion type is just toxic.

and here I am maining support and I barely notice. you aren't a true support main until you've carried an 'adc' Nasus to victory (in the old meta)
I've also seen a great many odd picks that are apparently common now, i've played with mages bot plenty of times when it wasn't part of the meta, so these changes don't really affect the support role for me. In fact, if I did go bot instead of support i'd kind of enjoy getting to play some of the mid or top champions I enjoy far more than marksman champs.
The only thing I find a bit weird is, does mid get pressured to play an AD champ now? I would think with a mage in the bot lane that would be too much AP.
I think games of league can be quite stressful when nobody really knows what's going on, like when someone takes the new champ the day it's released. People tend to play better when things are familiar, and worse when things are chaotic, so that's really my only concern.

Or getting graves/kindred/kha etc ad junglers and Darius or other ad top can balance it out.

"a time" in the meantime they lose all the longtime adc players who thought the game was for everyone, midlaners have mages, bruisers and tanks have toplane, many junglers are literally geared for only jungling, and botlane was for ranged ad marksmen. Now midlaners and toplaners are greedy fucks who wanted to be able to also take their shit botlane and now marksmen aren't even cared for. The only people in botlane who say they like it are other lanes that want to continue to have the role of adc disappear. as for those items being buffed being "hell for everyone" that's such a load of crap. At least before adcs felt like a champion with flaws but flaws that could be overcome through surviving and getting their items, now its just "survive to get shit item, to possibly do a bit of damage before you die and literally not have fun. If adc get their ideal path back at least they will be able to contend against the stuff in bot but atm they can't. It says alot about a game when I've been playing since season 3 and the game I keep giving chance after chance literally gives no happiness anymore because of one patch. It seems that riot only cares to make shit shiny rather than make shit fun

Joke's on you, Tryndamere has a 4 second spin CD now, less crit CDR.
Besides, if someone like Tryndamere can get on you he should be able to kill you 100% of the time. You're not meant to be able to 1 for 1 any top laner as an ADC, you're a dedicated turret breaker. That's your role. ADCs thinking they should have equal duelling/team fighting power as any other position is exactly the problem with LoL.

At least other class champions work relatively well in other lanes. While marksmans are most reliably best as an arcade unless you are a Quinn, graves, vayne or just happened to be really good as an Ashe top.
Other champions taking over as the adc in Lane has lost the home for the other marksmans.

The good ADCs are still doing fantastic. The ADCs that cannot adapt, just aren't cut out to be a pro player. Yeah that sucks for some of them, but every other role has to play with or against vastly different styles of champions all the time, and if you cannot adjust to something like this, you are a failure as a player.
And ADCs are fine in the hands of the good players. Ezreal, Lucian and Kai'sa are still amazing, people have had a lot of success with even Ashe, and Varus has seen a lot of play as well,and Hans Sama has been absolutely crushing with Draven. There is no excusing the meta for any ADC player "falling off".
KiyokoFaith Honestly this is not true in my Opinion. Yes Adcs seem to be all the same since "all you have to do is rightclick with them", but still it is not an easy role. People spend years on practicing the role just to get where they are right now and then we get this big meta shift where suddenly adcs are expected to play bruisers or mages.
Just watch any top/mid or jungle main play an adc and you will see that the only thing they are able to play properly is ezreal since he is the easiest of the all and doesn't require much skill to do well.
Yes if you are one of the best adcs out there you will have to adapt to this new meta but i don't think it is fair to call anyone bad just b3cause they have a hard time with it
johann hahn Top Laners has to know how to play Mages, Bruisers, Melee ADCs and tanks, and either had to learn how to play marksmen (Vayne and Teemo top seems popular), or play against them. Need I remind you of Huni?
Junglers has to play a complete slew of champion styles, from tank, to Mages, to assassin's, to ADCs, AND SUPPORTS. You can claim Ezreal is not an ADC all you want, you'd still be wrong. Furthermore, they shift DRAMATICALLY in playstyle. A laner has to adjust based on waveclear and lane pressure available, as well as ward accordingly. A jungler has to heavily change his jungle pathing and ganking pattern based on the chosen jungler.
And honestly, this is a game where you can't and should not expect to just know one role. Proplay may be 1 role setups, but league is not, and there is no excuse for not knowing at least two different roles. If you only know how to play marksmen, that is entirely on the player. Blaming it on the meta is preposterous.
Finally, we are seeing the GOOD ADCs continue to dominate on the "weak" ADCs. Doublelift, Hans Sama, Ruler, Uzi, all play a lot of ADCs, and have a ton of success with them. And then we have funneling in pro play, which currently heavily favours ADCs like Kaisa and Lucian, and even Xayah.
If you struggle as an ADC, you are outing yourself as terrible if you blame the meta for doing poorly. Notice how no pro player other than Rekkless has blamed the meta for making them worse? They say the meta is weird, they say ADCs has been nerfed, but they never attribute worse performance to the meta, and for good reason.
its the fact that so much random shit gets played botlane now. Even if i'm a "good adc" its not all about me even knowing how to play my champ but knowing how a match up goes. If all the champs i put effort into are nerfed while at the same time new champs are introduced to the botlane, of course I wont be able to do shit to something I haven't put the practice in for. Its literally like riot is saying "fuck you" to all the time invested in the game that marksmen have put in and throwing them to the curb to appease other fucking laners that can go botlane without thinking. just straight drooling. honestly ap damage is a curse, the more I see this shit the more I want riot to just remove it from the game and see how everyone reacts to that. "oh noo we cant play our champs without the ONLY THING THAT MADE THEM GOOD"

Matchup is a terrible excuse, because that goes both ways. You may not know how an Ezreal Vs swain matchup is supposed to work, but neither does the Swain player know how a Swain Vs Ezreal matchup is supposed to work.
And they do this all the time to junglers, and there people just call the junglers whiny. They literally invalidated 80% of all AP junglers on numerous occasions. Fiddlesticks is STILL not viable as a jungler, after YEARS. I have met players who didn't even believe he was ever meant to be a jungler in the first place. Imagine having put in a ton of effort into him, only to have it invalidated completely forever.
The meta changes. Keep playing what you are good at, and it doesn't matter if ADCs lost a bit of stats. They'll still carry hard, you just need to adapt to it, and face the fact that certain builds just aren't viable any longer. Every other role has to deal with this, and ADCs just had a meta where they were the sole responsible for which team won the game. I think it's fair that it became more difficult - because it is far from impossible, as has been proven multiple times already in pro play - to carry your team to victory. Now other lanes actually had to matter as well.
Except of course that people can still draft 4 fucking supports and an ADC and still facefoll over the enemy team. So there's that too.
Ok i understand your point, and I don't mean to dismiss learning new matchups, but when it comes to ap champions in the botlane, they 100% have more leniency to miss long range abilities and back off while an adc has to commit to do damage or if they want to poke its just not worth it anymore so you spend your time farming to get items that give you more damage like stormrazor (if you're not bullied out of lane) only to see that the enemy mage has the same amount of farm and used his gold to also get a shit-ton of damage that (say swain or brand) he can get lucky and hit you once and then you cant reengage. doubly if its both because you just cant fight that its doomed to fail and you cant poke one or the other because its equally meaningless.

this isn't what botlane is about. I don't care what riot thinks we should adapt to.... I think they constantly get away with shit and players are told to accept it but I know that they want their items to succeed more than anything in the world so they're gonna continue to tweak literal shit items and adcs are gonna continue to be in the shitter and they aren't gonna revert shit because they just wanna "stick to their guns." it's incredibly disappointing to see that this is the route riot takes to stay "new and fresh" instead of keeping the game "fun and playable" and at this point if they're gonna do this there is literally no incentive to learn anything imo anymore if the next day its viability is gonna be completely deleted from the game. on the fiddle shit, yeah thats one champion not an entire role, but at the same time riot isnt right, you cant justify bad decisions they make by pointing out another bad decision they made. do you realize how shitty it is to say, "hey we suffered so you have to suffer too?" I just wanna play a fun game, smh
also the 4 support thing, like sure they could do that to win the game but in reality whos having fun, the enemy's not having fun, because lets be honest the people losing most of the time are raging at their teammates or spamming the ff button in this meta, and the team winning is probably so bored with super uninteresting steamrolls.
I'm giving league 3 more patches to at least get adc's to not feeling worthless until I play again and if not within that time I'll probably join all the people around me who have left it and question my lasting love for the game. it's seriously waning
