Im rewatching your Pokémon Journey and in having a blast! I remember fighting gyms and not knowing how to post in gyms at start!
3 steps = 1km
2 steps = 100m
1 step = 10m
0 steps = about to appear

Sam Owen You can either look for clues such as rustling of leaves or if they're are a water pokemon for example, head towards water. There is no real way of telling which direction it is in, so just go one way and if it disappears off your "pokemon near you" scream then its obviously the other way
if the box that shows nearby pokemons blinks or a green frame comes out of it then you are in the right direction if not then try to rotate yourself and walk a bit untill it actually blinks or a green frame comes out of it
I think that's incorrect, I had a 3 step Pokémon, found it in a park after taking a not 100m walk.

I just learnt something
Pokemon Go in a nutshell:
1. You have to go and find magic balls that help you catch and enslave magic creatures. You find the balls at magic street gang hangouts called Pokestops.
2, Some of those creatures you enslave you will feed drugs that make them grow.
3. You obtain the drugs (street name: candy) by selling the rest of the enslaved creatures to a drug dealer who also performs horrible experiments on them (the kind of "research" that war criminals undertake)
4. The ones you keep you will take to a local fighting arena euphemistically called a gym. If you're familiar with barbaric animal fighting rackets you get the idea.
5. Your little gladiators win points which you gamble on them to take control of the arena.
6. Individuals find it hard to control arenas so you will need to join a criminal gang (a "team").
7. Pay attention to the fresh air and sunshine and your surroundings and you may miss out on enjoying the slavery, gladiatorial fighting, drug use, horrific animal research and criminal gang activity, so be sure to keep your nose stuck in your phone.

Sorry to ruin your ghetto theory invented by a swag overlord, but Pokémon have bonded with humans for centuries, this is notable in the Arceus movie. The dick that looks like a sun was a loner so he was the first one to enslave Pokémon. Other than that, Pokémon just trust their trainers or humans, if they didn't, the PokéBalls would be pointless. The gyms are like a sport for Pokémon, if you couldn't tell by the ring that's always present in the stage. The candy are like Poképuffs. I think that's pretty much it. By the way, if Pokémon took drugs they'd suffer from withdrawal and other stuff.

Ok because some people can't figure this out, to hatch an EGG you need to WALK. Algorithms in the game only count the kilometers if you are moving at a certain speed so that prevents people driving and hatching eggs. THERE YOU GO!!!
If driving worked, I'd get on the freeway at 80 mph and after about an hour id be set for eggs.
You said in a certain speed? So will it count when I'm in a heavy traffic. Because here in my country the speed of your car in a heavy traffic is basically the same as walking. So will it count? If it is, then that's another reason for me to like heavy traffics. Lol. xD

We have lure monitors They Attract Pokemon near a Pokestop
quick tips:
1. You can dodge by swiping.
2. When u have a failed attempt at catching pokemon, click on the fallen pokeball as soon as u think its gonna be a fail. If you do this before the last moment, your pokeball gets restored to your storage.
People on the internet telling that each step is 100 metres and some people telling it about 10 metres(I mean yeah like hell! U walk for 5 mins and u cover a distance of 10 metres like hell!).
In actuality, its around 50 metres.
+Ujjawal Panchal in my experience personally think of the steps like a game of hot or cold. 3 steps being cold no steps being hot and then in between is just getting warmer.
But we won't know until the 3 step glitch gets sorted out

If you hit the pokemon in the middle circle you get bonus XP, the smaller the circle the higher the bonus.
At E3 the developers said that throwing in the pokeball in the small ring makes the chance higher to capture it

Technically the 2nd gen pokemon are either already available or are in the works since it marks the total number of catchable pokemon at 250 (gen 1 only has 150 if you exclude Mew).
