The show is a love letter to Monty Python, who were decades ahead of their time. Don't get me wrong, this show is superb but Python are the originals and in my mind, the best.
This episode is one of the tightest pieces of programming ever produced (in America). Serious credit to Jack Black for trying to catch that hat live. The Milking Machine is Bob's greatest performance ever, in any medium. Second greatest is Howell Tankerbell. Tthis episode taught an important lesson about holes
@@DavidKlausa SpongeBob came well after Mr show. I was implying that Kenny may have drawn inspiration from his older design when designing the SpongeBob character. I see this kind of thing a lot.
The funny thing is they are both incredible actors, they do such great character work, so believable immediately every time, they should both be in much more
So, so far ahead of it's time. Odenkirk defined humour for me with mr show and has gone on to support incredible new comics including Tim/Erik, plus he's an amazing actor. David Cross is great too, the whole cast is, but Odenkirk runs the best production company in hollywood. this show taught me so much about comedy, I remember watching it live when I was 16.

Holy shit at 26:05 you can see the actress behind the wall on the very right, maybe you can see behind it for other parts too but that’s when I just noticed it
Saying women aren't funny is a huge generalization that this show gives a good example of. Sarah Silverman and Jill Talley's acting give off way more humor than John Ennis. I think I even remember him saying a punchline but missing the timing and right during the skit Tom Kenny says "well better luck next time".
Sarah Silverman didn't really have much to do on Mr. Show but that's where I knew her from because every time she showed up it was like, "MY GOD SHE'S HOT!" Jill Tally was hilarious though. And John Ennis is awesome! Look at the intervention sketch!
3:00 Why would his electric collar interrupting the lights and power? What's that you say? "It's a comedy show, not factual programming on the workings of electricity." That's not a good enough answer for me. I expect low budget sketch comedy to show a realistic portrayal of real life, especially from a country like america.
Such an amazing episode. No sketch comedy has beaten Mr. Show, before or since
The wkuk I think is better

“It’s so big, it’s fucking great” the way Brian delivers that line is so funny every time
It's one of the funniest moments of the entire series.
Yes lmfao Hahaha
Its so insane that this is the SECOND episode of the show. Its so point, you'd think they'd be at for years together.
This show was SOOOO ahead of its time.

Yes, this episode aroused and tittilated me.

Awesome
I saw someone comment on the Quato scene in Total Recall:
"Is this a Rick and Morty reference?"
I facepalmed so hard I nearly knocked myself out.
6:10 "Bibley and his Undersea Adventures" doesn't look at all like an underwater rectangular cartoon character that was voiced by Tom Kenny.
:) Whoooooa.
Interesting connection, though I'm pretty sure it's meant to satirize Psalty.

I really appreciate the flow into other sketches; really other shows should shoot for this more.
I like how the tune in the first bit started off like "there's no i in teamocil, at least not where you'd think"
Noice
The funny thing is they are both incredible actors, they do such great character work, so believable immediately every time, they should both be in much more
Love how it all tied back to the beginning. Oh this had to be one of jack blacks first tv appearances?
Jack Black had a movie role before this show was on in Airborne.

Ahead of its time? Only if you disregard the British show Fry and Laurie, which was already running in the 80's.
Odenkirk is the best singer ever.
@Floopy-Noopers they're singing to the tune of "auld lang syne"
why wasnt this on telly in the uk ffs its fantastic
The way I read this in a british accent
I think it's there since a few whiffens past.
