I purchased a van from a company and was told it was fine. Radiator, thermostat, waterproof, oil pan gasket, exhaust gaskets and full motor gasket set was all needed. All because I believe them. All fixed now but I was lucky and had a family mechanic that's solid. Finding a honest knowledgeable mechanic is getting harder to find. Wish everyone the best on luck when getting work.
Don't feel bad that you got lied to , even brand new vehicles are junk now days ! Bought a new Ram 2500 diesel , have had 7 recalls . A , supposedly , insignificant , part in the DEF system went down. They told ne it would be 3 months before they could even order it but since it was part of the DEF heater system that it would stay running until I could get the part. Two weeks later , I get a notice that the truck would go to " Limp Mode " in 150 miles if not repaired ! Limp mode means it would not go more than 5 mph ! Sheesh !
I taught at a school just south of Hailey ID when Bruce Willis's daughters were young and in sport. He came to our little school when his daughter played volleyball against my daughter. All the local kids knew Bruce did not sign autographs. The two exchange students from Germany were told but they asked anyway. The star explained clearly to the kids he didn't sign autographs EVER because way back when he was on TV in the Moonlighting show, he saw somebody selling his autograph on line. He knew it was fake because he hadn't ever done that yet. That's why he never signs autographs because some slimy crook will try to trick somebody. If you ever see a BW autograph it is ALWAYS fake. He shook the boys hand's and was warm and friendly. A true gentleman, cheered for our little school ( Richfield, ID) when we made a point as well as his daughter's school.
I appreciate you letting us know how to report the scammers. I have gotten the message at least a dozen times in the last 2 months. Purple tracker looks great. Love and hugs and prayers for all
For the better part of my adult life I listed to Don Imus. When he retired, it left a big hole in my? (I'm not even sure what to call it) Your channel filled that void and gives me that same fulfillment. I never miss an episode, keep on rocking the free world!
Kevin, I am a Toyota Tacoma guy like you are with Trackers. Keep it simple and not complicated is what I like. If I could get hand crank windows I would. I bought the last Nissan Pathfinder with hand crank windows and manual lockers they ever made back in the 90's. I like my truck to be dependable and simple. A/C and a decent stereo is about as far as I go. I wish I had a guy like you have because they are hard to find indeed. God bless.
I don’t think that’s what he meant. I think he meant the car could last 300k with very good maintenance. But it’s already well over 100k with unknown maintenance history. Thus, it could die tomorrow and his statement is not wrong.
I have yet to find a honest mechanic. Here’s the thing no matter what your job is do it to the best of your ability and honestly . If you can’t do that you have nothing.
Kevin, you are not the only viseographer that has been hacked by that bot. I always report it when I see it on a comment. I am like you and don't know why UA-cam isn't doing a better job unless they are simply overwhelmed with the scammers.
Love the idea of getting the tracker and doing all the maintenance and mechanical work needed!! 👌 Agree 👍 it's good to know exactly what you have ❤️ Thanks for Sharing ❤️
Wonderful little car. I am still driving my 2003 Honda Civic. You have convinced me the Tracker is a good replacement when the time comes. Thanks Kevin.
I have a Suzuki GrandVitara 2000. almost nobody wants to work on it. I finally found one lovely guy who will work on it, he's a blessing. But until I found him , I had many tears ... And I went thru eight mechanic visits in 11 months . Still I am very thankful to have wheels . " I say thank You Lord for starting my car ," every morning. (Edit: my Vitara has 204,000 miles😇)
Hey Kevin thank you man for the heads up I've had a few scammers try that on me and have done exactly what you said and your exactly right to tell every one about good people working doing good by people ty man
When Stan flipped you off I laughed so hard I scared my 2 dogs and my nephew pupper that I’m dog sitting! Stan is one of those guys you meet that you know you’re better off for doing so, backbone of America. I was just thinking… yeah, I have an idea. You know what would be awesome out there At Vagabond base camp? One of those big, double size metal carports, like the one your rig is parked under in your intro. Maybe not as tall, but you could use it as a pavilion to get out of the sun during the day, and then if you have stormy weather forecasted you could park your trackers, etc under there out of harms way. Idk if Arizona gets hail like Texas does, but baseball size hail will total out a vehicle. Anyway, love your content and really appreciate you paying it forward to the people you do business with, Dr. DeSpain, Dr. Fawcett, The Morelans, and Stan!
Kevin if you got a good tracker to begin with and you do all the right maintenance to them they last forever so money well invested I agree with you 100% God bless happy Sunday looking forward to seeing you soon and with that I will bid you happy motoring and wonderful weather 🤗🤗
Hey Kevin thank you so much for telling me how to report those scammers. I have been receiving a lot in comments. Yes they say you're going to receive a gift.
I figured out that they were scammers.. when they first came out .. and I did exactly what you said to do!! I figured that any time any youtuber was giving away something they announced it on their channels.. so.... scam!!
there is nothing like having a great mechanic that you can trust! mine for over 40 years retired and moved out of the area two years ago. I'm having a hard time finding another.
Kevin, you buy Geos like I buy RV's. Got four RV's now. One to live in. One for guests. One to travel in and one to restore... bought them all for a song.
Thanks, Kev.....you are a bad I fluence.. My brain keeps telling me I NEED a Tracker now. I'm obsessed with finding one now, lol. It would be a great little dog truck to run to vet in instead of my short bus, lol. Seriously, I had no idea what reliable all around great little vehicles they are. I would have one years ago, had I known.
I love Stan's sense of humor! He saluted you! 🤣 I had 2 Geo Tracker's, 93 & 94 and I was told they would never make it up and around the mountains! Both passed everyone on the way up! They were good cars! 🥰
40 mpg, Geo had one for 14 YEARS ago saved so much $$$$$/gas wish I had now !!! Got it with 18,000 mils on it, got it from a lady that traveled to work from Port Angeles, Wa to Gig Harbor, Wa. & back. All the oil changes, work done on it etc. on paper! Amazing engine. Castro’s oil /hi-rpm type type of oil,ran it in my VW Bug “ Back in the Day “ !
We really enjoyed a small cafe in St. John's for breakfast. Kevin, f you haven't tried it give it a try. Village Cafe. Good prices, large portions and good food.
i bought a 95 tracker in 97 with 19,000 miles for 7800.00 still under warranty I got a cop job in washington, mo . i was coming home one night and came to a curve and it rolled on me . I was ejected through the top and laid there for over an hour. I broke my neck and never walked again. Im not blaming the tracker, but everybody said in a truck or any other car it wouldnt have rolled.
THE ONLY ONE WE CAN TRUST KEVIN.....IS OURSELF!!! over the years i have educated myself in automotive repairs.....at first i was "scared" to work on cars.....but i found out that it realy is not that complicated!!! Also there are so many people that you can ask on line and usualy when you get several same answers ....well it helps...sometimes i need a certain tools.....but there are several auto stores that will rent them....try it what can go wrong that you can't fix again...LOL
"I don't know why UA-cam isn't taking care of it" -- I can tell you, spammers going way back to the early days of email even have always been one step ahead. The system administrators come up with a way to combat then, only to have the spammers come back with a new countermeasure. It's a cat-and-mouse game that has been going on for years.
Another reason is because YT is too busy censoring & shadow banning channels & comments. And, manipulating numbers (subscriber counts, video views, likes, etc) of channels they disagree with! 🤔🧐🤨
That is a Sharp looking car! I’m so impressed with your GEO trackers I think I’m going to look for one down here in South Texas. But I know it’s hard to find a good mechanic. ….
I'm near Chicago and I do have an honest mechanic he was referred to me by some other people and I've been with him since day once since he opened his shop and he's very honest with me and gives me good prices cuz I'm a senior
My cats bring mice, etc, INTO the house because they want to share the fun of the hunt and release with me. 😂 So fun, picking up parts that they don’t eat!
Hi Gayle....cats are funny creatures!! I lived in Phoenix in the 70's in a small gated Community and my 2 cats would go on the back yard and bring in the little Sand lizards...when I would clean under the TV or sofa, I would find tails, legs and other parts where my cats would bring the lizards in bat them around till they didn't move anymore...Felt bad for the little sand lizards, but cat will be cats!!! ..
I thought I was the only one that thought of this. I always keep my car immaculate inside and out and especially when I bring it in for maintenance. Great minds think alike.
Purple car looks great. I was aware of that scam and have reported everyone of them. I knew it wasn't you. I usually hear from you if I ask you a question and the answer doesn't come with an app. so I know it's you. Missed my babies today. Hoping Felix ❤️and Baby Mae Mae 💞🐾🐾 doing well. 🙏🙏🙏❤️🐾🐾💞🐾🐾💞🐾🐾💞☕
I'm still loving my 2009 Toyota Yaris with 58,000 miles on it. I'm the first owner & I hope to drive it for another 15-30 years! It's old school. I can change the oil & the tires myself. I get the oil changed every 6 months no matter what the mileage is. And my dear friend bought me 4 new tires for Christmas! That was an awesome gift 🎁
@@rebelgirl7289 Me too. I had a 1987 manual hatchback with 30K miles on it as a teenager. I bet that car is still running great out there with my purple 💜 & teal pinstripes! I've only purchased Toyotas, though I do love the feel of how a Honda Accord drives, at least the old ones anyway. So smooth...
Kevin you truly are blessed! Looks like you got a honey of a deal with your purple tracker. Enjoy and continue to be safe and happy. Love to all the pups, shout out for Mr. Felix. How's he doing? Take care~
It is so sad these days the energy people exzert into evel rather than being creative and doing good. A while back you had sounded off about uninvited people. I thought, wow that hurt. Then I thought, well I don't like it either. Opening our e-mail and having to delete 600 junk e-mails is so ridiculous any more. Love your channel and nice vehicle. 👍👍
@KEVIN AND THE WOLFPACK I WOULD LIKE TO SAY THANK YOU FOR INFORMING ME ABOUT THE SCAMMERS. BUT SO MANY CHANNELS THAT I WATCH HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. 👋👋👍👍❤️🐶❤️🐶❤️🐶
A good mechanic is a blessing. Good yours is honest, and actually fixes the vehicle. I don't think anyone should be mad at you for talking about the real estate there. Same info right online. They want to keep the area less developed. Can't blame them. It's pretty out there, nice terrain. Vagabond Basecamp looks great. 🙂👍
I would love to only be 50 miles to the nearest large stores. We're 140 miles in either direction to Walmart, Lowes, or Home Depot. No place to buy clothes except family dollar. But you learn to live with it. My friend here plans to move in April to her property near Concho. I'm so happy for her.
Hey Kevin, Yep, I was one of your subs that got the telegram message that you wanted to give me a gift. I knew better but I conversed with the bot just to see how far it would go. When it wanted my name, phone number and address to send said gifts. I reached out to you. Thank you so much for replying that it was a scam! It was kinda funny as I replied back to the bot saying I wanted conformation from it. It replied "don't you trust who I am" I said NO! and Bye bye! It then deleted all of the back and forth messages in telegram. Hope others who got the message didn't go full hook line and sinker. You done good on Purple is Faster! You know what you got and Stan is a square shooter for sure. More room for the Woof Pack in there too! Thanks Kev.
Hey! I resemble that remark! I’ve had 3 Jeep’s over the last 12 years, zero issues! I had 2 TJ’s for 5 years my 2nd one was built & wheeled hard for 4 years. My current Jeep is a ‘14 JKUR for 9 years next month! I’ve had at least 15 4x4’s over the last 44 years & I love my JK! I run BFG AT’s on all my 4x’s too. Think you’re going to have to change the name from Vagabond base camp to Tracker base camp! 😂
My husband was a mechanic and it’s how we met. An old boyfriend recommended him and I dumped the boyfriend and married my mechanic. We were married 35 years and had 3 boys together. I lost him to cancer on 2021 and finding a reliable mechanic has been a huge struggle, so I truly understand that sentiment.
Love “Purple’s Faster”. I’m gonna store this video for reference for when I need a reliable, trustworthy and affordable mechanic-diesel or gas. Thanks for all the valuable information.
I despise those dishonest lying cheating scummy spammers! The Bots, spoofed phone numbers, spoofed emailers, liars calling about this and that, the list goes on and on. The older I get the more I realize you’ve got to get right in Gods graces, now I see even more clearly how few will arrive in Glorious Heaven. Heaven.
Kevin, I got the scammed, thanks for the info. Good job on the Purple Tracker, stay safe, say hello to all your friends and especially Felix and the Babies. See you soon in your next video.
Here in Cochise County my grandson stayed in our driveway in his 28' Grey Wolf travel trailer for six months. It was illegal. Two Weeks is all you are allowed. He moved to a friend's place on a horse ranch and it's still illegal. The only way you can stay longer is if you get a building permit and then only for as long as you are building. Prayers that Felix is doing well.
Interesting video. I think you got a good deal on the car and it will last a long time. The shop kitty is really cute. Take care of yourself and the woof pack
I bought one. You can't get them all. Lol. 97 soft top 2d 4cyl rwd manual 5 speed. Turquoise green 111509 miles. Already set up with gear to tow. Dealer bought from freedom rv in Tucson. Looks brand new in and out . Hood has color fade. Picking it up monday yeah. Thank you for all your videos on these Geo Trackers
Ok Kevin now I have some questions. Do we get to hear Purple scooter music more now that you have Purple's Faster? Are you gonna paint your other building to match Red? Love it!
Continued prayers for you all....nice car ,love, the colour too , a huge thankyou for mentioning the Telegram scammers, I have had 3 recently and all after leaving a comment on a video.💛.
You’ve got yourself a sharp looking vehicle, & it matches the purple tiny house. At least you know it’s not going to break down on the road. Good investment Kevin! 🤗
Not just men! Before I got my driver's license my mechanic brother made me learn all the parts under the hood, how to change my oil, and how to change a tire.
And guy's have faith in your self. I have learned so much from Google about cars , truck's. I am pretty smart when it comes to my vehicle's.. Why? Because I am a woman and it is big money fixing a vehicle. I am gonna know my playing field and the game, and maybe some research on the player's before I go in any where . It's hard work fixing automobiles It's even harder to stay honest in today's world. We are all hurting. But cheating people will always make you lose. Best wishes.
Salute to the mechanic ! Highly skilled and takes pride in his work. Diesel mechanic also, i agree. Those guys are cut from a different cloth. If it CAN be fixed, they can fix it. edit I missed the name first viewing. Salute to Stan. Stan is the man for the job.
I understand the investment in the purple tracker. If you have a good vehicle to start with it is worth investing in it because in the long run you are definitely saving a lot. On top of that you have peace of mind that it is highly unlikely that it will leave you stranded. Love your videos!
I ran across a female solo RVer about 5 yrs ago that traveler in a Winnebago Brave and towed a Sidekick. She did most of the mechanic work on it herself. She was 65 or so at the time. Now with the ones you have run across and having everything checked out, makes me wonder these vehicles aren't being manufactured still. Both of your vehicles look really nice! I hope the hang in there and don't give you any major problems! HUGS~Donna
These small affordable, easy to work on vehicles are a thing of the past. The small pick-ups from the 80s and 90s would be such a hit today. The little Nissan and Toyota trucks made back then were great on gas and very hard to kill. Same with the small SUV's of the same era. My opinion- they were made too good and lasted too long. We cannot have that now. I have no problem going back and finding these older vehicles and spending whatever is necessary to keep them road worthy. Of course, that takes a finding and old school, talented mechanic which has become all but impossible.
Lol, I got one of the messages about a week or two ago from a spammer with the CVK logo. I just ignored it and it went away! I understand about the spending on an old vehicle. I have a 1975 vette with way too much money in it but it is a keeper. I can leave and drive to California, Maine or where ever and not worry about it making it safely. That's what us car guys do, lol.
I'm going through all the Landmodo Arizona ads under $10,000. I also don't know if I can survive at 7000 feet elevation, since I've spent most of my life in Indiana.
Thanks for sharing your knowledge about the Trackers and introducing your Geo mechanic friend. I will have to disagree with him about reliability on Jeeps though. My 1998 Jeep Wrangler TJ has been very reliable for me the 10 years I have owned it. I have only $5000 into it. I love your videos about your Concho Az. Base camp and surrounding areas. Keep up the good work Kevin.
My Elantra is doing the same thing when idling. I’ll ask my mechanic to check the “mass air flow sensor?” Is that term right?? It stutters when stopped at a signal. Thanks sir!!
I purchased a van from a company and was told it was fine.

Finding a trusted mechanic is a treasure ! Thank you for sharing !
I looked at land up there a couple of years ago, from Williams to Winslow, and liked Concho best, too. What dissuaded me was the water issue.
You were very wise ….
Oh my Kevin!! People can be so terrible!! We love you and thankyou for letting us know!!🌺❤️😘

he's having issues with chemo...
The scammers are hitting all over youtube
I feel the same way about Jeep Cherokee XJ's like you do about these Trackers!
I would love to only be 50 miles to the nearest large stores. We're 140 miles in either direction to Walmart, Lowes, or Home Depot. No place to buy clothes except family dollar. But you learn to live with it. My friend here plans to move in April to her property near Concho. I'm so happy for her.
Smokey was just doing a final cat scan.
Just throwing this out there; I'm having the exterior of my 06 Sequoia rhino 🦏 coated/painted.
There are a couple of Ace hardware stores in Texas that have grocery store in them.
Here in Cochise County my grandson stayed in our driveway in his
28' Grey Wolf travel trailer for six months. It was illegal. Two
Weeks is all you are allowed.
He moved to a friend's place on a horse ranch and it's still illegal.
The only way you can stay longer is if you get a building permit and then only for as long as you are building.
Prayers that Felix is doing well.
I didn't get from you but I did from Eric and Dave's rv . Thank you for telling us what to do.
Hi Kevin, that was fun you taking me along with you for the ride; always love these video’s! Take care!
I saw that ad
He gave me a cash discount
Ok Kevin now I have some questions. Do we get to hear Purple scooter music more now that you have Purple's Faster? Are you gonna paint your other building to match Red? Love it!
never know!
Continued prayers for you all....nice car ,love, the colour too , a huge thankyou for mentioning the Telegram scammers, I have had 3 recently and all after leaving a comment on a video.💛.
I had one just recently. I just deleted it. What jerks would try to scam off our Kevin? ❤️🇨🇦
I wonder if leaving a comment on a video is why I'm getting all of these scam emails? 😐🤔 I changed my password last night, hopefully that will help.
I need to send you a video I made of my first drive in a Geo Trakker. I had more fun making it then I should have. Have a great day Sir!
Looks great Kevin the purple 💜 goes faster
surely most people have seen that and know its a scam by now, i've been seeing those for a year or so now. i report them every time i see them!
Me too
The best mechanic is the busiest one.
Love them GEO trackers. I had one 10 years ago. I live in Indiana so it's hard to find a good one around here. Have a great day!
Thank you for explaining how to report scammers, I got two messages myself 💖
You’ve got yourself a sharp looking vehicle, & it matches the purple tiny house. At least you know it’s not going to break down on the road. Good investment Kevin! 🤗
I got one of those spam messages but I figured it was BS. Your little purple truck is looking good. Hope you get a lot of good use out of it.
Anyone remember when men fixed their own cars? Changed their own oil?
Not just men! Before I got my driver's license my mechanic brother made me learn all the parts under the hood, how to change my oil, and how to change a tire.
I once had a nice equipped 36x18 shop fully equipped with tools...now I don't have a place to work or tools
Yes! Unfortunately, most vehicle manufacturers try & make it very difficult to do your own maintenance anymore! 😾
There's an old saying... if you want something done right, do it yourself.
😆
Funny guy, that Stan. Glad your car is in tip top shape - drive it in good health. Oh, and you definitely look best with a closer beard, imho.
I agree! You can learn a lot from Scotty Kilmer & other YT channels, as well!👍✌️
Salute to the mechanic ! Highly skilled and takes pride in his work. Diesel mechanic also, i agree. Those guys are cut from a different cloth. If it CAN be fixed, they can fix it. edit I missed the name first viewing. Salute to Stan. Stan is the man for the job.
I had a Geo Metro Hatch back and I loved that little car. Wish I still had it. It was a 92
I understand the investment in the purple tracker. If you have a good vehicle to start with it is worth investing in it because in the long run you are definitely saving a lot. On top of that you have peace of mind that it is highly unlikely that it will leave you stranded. Love your videos!
Right on, good truck but more importantly Good people & that is priceless 👍
Thank you for the video. Blessings to you.
Enjoy your purple Tracker. Now I want one and want this guy to make sure it is in perfect shape. :)
Life's short..... Do what makes ya happy...
Love how Stan says that Suzuki is 10 times more reliable than a Jeep. What I've seen of Jeeps, I couldn't agree more.
I think I feel the same way about Dodge Omni's. Had two of them and loved those little cars and wish I could get another one someday
I got one of those scammer messages! I knew it wasn't real!! 😖
Older Jeeps are great, if you can keep them maintained. Newer models are crap!
My Elantra is doing the same thing when idling. I’ll ask my mechanic to check the “mass air flow sensor?” Is that term right?? It stutters when stopped at a signal. Thanks sir!!
Purple’s my favorite color 😊
I think that you love purple as much as I do!😀💜
