@@liviub5282 my theory is that happiness is a general sense/feeling/outlook informed by both emotion and meaning. Like, contentment and gratitude are skills you practice, and meaning is something you can choose or reject, and joy and euphoria are just like WHOOOOOOW. Joy is like, wow i love my partner in this second. And happiness is like “how i see myself in my life”

It was! Joy fits in with the others more, happiness is more of an overall thing that any of the emotions can bring.
So cool that Envy & Embarrassment that were cut out of Inside Out made it to the sequel Inside Out 2!

4:40 At the end of the first movie you could see memories, alongside mixed ones, that matched the colors of the sequel emotions. I noticed it right off the bat and wondered what those colors were doing there. If Pete only started thinking about the sequel in 2016, what did they intend by that? I assumed they already had a plan.
Im happy fear isnt the bad guy ( if you dont know what im talking about fear was meant to be the bad guy in the script where fear and joy get lost)

interesting they changed the mechanic in the sequel from the core memories forming personality islands to memories creating a sense of self, just like you said at the end

Unless it’s just not your type of movie and nothing objectively wrong with it.
If it’s not your thing I can respect that but if inside out as a whole is bad and that’s why you don’t like it, then that makes me feel like I’m committing a crime for liking it.
@@THGMR-ox7sd it not my type of movie. there are some elements i like about the movie, like the psychology behind it but still, its not my type. im not forcing you to dislike inside out, im just telling my opinion. don’t feel pressured lol.

@@rowan404 sorry late response, i rewatched the movie a second time and i guess being more concentrated made me enjoy the movie way more! im gonna give the first movie a rewatch too, to see if it changes my perspective again. also hi rowan, i keep bumping into you lol.
They advertised the HECK out of Inside Out 2. It's been advertised for months, and I saw so many clips from the movie in the weeks leading up to its release, I thought it was already out. They're always going to promote the films they think will do well. When I heard there would be anxiety, I knew there would be an anxiety attack. All I had to do was picture it in my mind, and I could easily imagine how the scene would go, and the emotional pull of it. It's nice how well they handled it, but also, it would have been very very hard to do poorly at this point in time, especially if they consulted with professionals. I'm happy to see what independent creators and studios are doing with animations, from new ideas to fantastic storytelling to unseen representation. What I'm saying is, studios with a huge budget are making things that are decent because it brings in money but are becoming too afraid of working with original ideas. Inside Out 2 was probably first first "good" Pixar/Disney movie in quite a while--but it was easy as pie for them.
