I just purchased live scope for my own boat. I purchased a used 93SV Echomap UHD from a friend that we have fished livescope on for three years. I can wait to get it all installed to see the difference for myself. The videos I’ve seen on this platform of the LVS 32 look awesome. I’ll come back and answer your questions after I get some time on the water. I verticals jig and spider rig for crappie. I know the livescope has been a game changer for me and my friend.

Dude I'm freaking stoked. I've never used it but I just got a new Garmin 126SV and the livescope and I have a feeling my life is never gonna be the same😅
Heck yeah, you are going to love it. Takes a little bit to get the hang of and understand all the options and settings, but it is hard going back to not using it when fishing once you have it!
Thanks for the comparison but are you going to get into the latest upgrade of the LVS 32 so you can help us clean up the screen again… wishing I did not update during the ice fishing season as I had mine dialed in (thanks to your help) but now it’s not as clear…

Thanks for such a in depth video. I’m bout to make my first garmin purchase cus I really love livescope from what I’ve seen on UA-cam. I have mega360 and mega live doesn’t seem to be good enough. MY question is does it make sense for me to get the LVS34 setup for $1699 when I can get the LVS32 on sale for $1299? Also I’m purchasing a Echomap UHD93sv with ducer on sale for $699. Will that be compatible with lvs34?

Yes the Echomap UHD93sv will be compatible with the new lvs34 transducer. And if it were me yes I would spend the extra $400 for the new transducer, as I think new updates over the next few years will for sure cater to the newer transducer and potentially make the difference between them that much greater.
However, if you are looking at the lvs32, I'd find a killer deal on a gently used one on facebook marketplace or in a group on there, lots of guys will be selling them to upgrade
Im one of those people who bought recently and the upgrade is just not worth it. When the price comes down Im all in. Great video and awesome new transducer!
Thanks for sharing, yes I'm starting to feel the same way. Worth the upgrade? Probably not unless using for competitive fishing or in an environment you are making money off of it. However if you are just getting one for sure get the LVS34
I’m sticking with my 32 .. Price is too high when I only had the 32 only 3 yrs .. Works fine
What sucks is for the people like me that just bought the lvs32 whole set up last year only to find out that this year I could've spent the same amount but got this new unit.
I'm in the same boat as you, saved up and purchased the entire system in December. I would have waited a few months more if I knew an upgrade was coming out.
Yeah it stinks, I get why they don't give a heads up though, they don't want to kill all their sales of the older unit, but as someone buying it would be nice to know if within a year something new is planned. I feel ya for sure!

Yes it will, make sure you get the full kit with the black box

Thanks for comparison. FYI I called Garmin and they do not recommend 34 for ice fishing 😪 That killed my new purchase that I wanted to use for both ice and fresh.
I'll be using it for both, did they say why they don't recommend it for ice fishing?
@@AlexTimm didn't think cord could handle cold. Now I don't know what to do. Already to make the ice bundle purchase. Callef to see if LVS34 would be with it. That's when they told me. Hopefully they figure it out.

@alextimm Sorry for the dumb question. I just bought my first boat and it came with 2 Garmin 93sv. I want to upgrade to the Livescope Plus. Does that mean my 93sv isn't compatible and I need to get a whole new head unit?
Good question. Some of the ECHOMAP 93 units are compatible and some are not. As long as yours are the ECHOMAP UHD 93sv you are good to go, if not, then yes you will need to get new head units.
Do you know what the pixel rate is for the LVS34? Why I'm asking is, is there any benefit to purchasing a head unit with a higher resolution for the LVS34? For example, GPSMap vs. Echomap UHD.
It's a good question, unfortunately that is not anything I've seen detail on. However I did just pick up my LVS34 tonight and will get out and do a side by side test and zoom in and see if there is a pixel difference

This just seems insane with all the which unit works with what… I mean technology has advanced to the point where a software update could eliminate most of these compatibility issues. TBH it’s just confusing for somebody that’s trying to build a setup that’s never used any type of sonar before. Seems the more I watch the more confused I become?
Is it possible to use the 126sv to view LiveScope and switch to down imaging or side imaging? If I wanted to do that, would I need the 54 transducer as well?
Yes. Cabelas just sold that combo with all three for like $3100

I am so dissappointed. I just got livescope for Christmas, and now there is this new and improved transducer!!! I did all the updates I could, and I guess that is not enough. Garmin needs to make this right for all who recently purchased the original transducer. It is no secret that Garmin has had major problems with the livescope. Make this right or lose me and many others as customers forever.
Acquired my Livescope setup including the “32” transducer in January and have not had a chance to use it for several life-gets-in-the-way reasons. Bought it direct from Garmin so they knew I was about to get screwed and that they were doing the screwing. Gotta love capitalism.

That’s hilarious. Do you think they give a shit? Clearly you don’t know too much about Garmin or Fishing electronics. Garman is the only one that is allowing people to upgrade without having to buy new units and allowing you to use the old box. With lowrance every year you would have to buy something new Just to keep up with structure scan. Multiple boxes have been out and now it’s finally built in do units. Just because you were late to the party doesn’t have anything to do with Garmin. Livescope has been out for five years now. They’ve been talking about releasing an upgraded Transducer for a long time so that’s all on you. Yeah let’s make everyone who wants an upgrade in their electronics wait for a couple people who are years behind the times. 🤦🏻♂️

The 93sv UHD is a different unit than the 93sv plus.
Hutch, the Plus 93sv and UHD 93sv look identical on the outside. But only the UHD 93sv is supported with the new LVS34 transducer as Garmin has stopped firmware updates on the Plus 93sv units - so it will not recognize the new transducer.
If you have the UHD 93sv you are good to go!

Would you ever consider just using livescope by itself? Why even have the other traditional transducer views anymore?
At the console, a graph with side scan will let you cover more water and mark areas that you want to go back and look at for more detail. Up front, LIVESCOPE and maps only. Scan the area with livescope, no fish then move on.
It's about the lastest and greatest some people can't stand not having just wait spring 2023 all these fools go out and buy new units this time so they can run the new ducer garmins coming out with yep most old units want run it ... some people got too much money
