I just bought one at the. New Wheel store in San Francisco. I will be using it to commute 6 miles each way. Thank you for your great videos! Very informative!
I have unrestricted Flyer Isy very similar to this one but mine is upgraded to Shimano Alfine 11, disc brakes and pivot SR Seatpost. My wife is very pleased with this bike. It's phenomenal!
I'm a Brompton foldable bike user since 3 years and just got the Kalkhoff Sahel Impulse 8 to extend my range and to manage less forgiving types of roads. I think it was a wise decision. The cross frame is stable as a tank and the fat tires seem just right for the job. The "eco" mode works most of the time, thanks to the light gearing, but it's loads of fun to add some juice when required. The acceleration in power mode is definitely something to reckoned with. On the critical side, I think the saddle quick release lever could be a bit stronger and I also think the front light may need an upgrade for rural service. Otherwise, I'm hard pressed to find any issues with this ebike. I regret it's so rare in my country, Sweden. Highly recommended!
I have just won one of these off an auction website for 30 UK pounds with only 18 miles on it and it's a 2017 model and it's spares or repair as it doesn't have power assistance. Can the motor break so soon it looks brand new? What I did notice on your video was when you tested the battery it showed a green light at 100% when this is charged it only shows a full compliment of red lights and the handle bar display shows full. If I press the + button for three seconds I get push assist so the motor does work very slowly and quietly but offers very little help. Going to locate a UK dealer and ask if they can give me advice the manual supplied must be from a mk1 version impulse 1? as the display is totally different. Fingers crossed it's a quick cheap fix...?
I really like the "compact but not folding" bicycles and ebikes. So many people just want a compact bike which will fit in the hallway of their apartment but they don't need to have the frame fold. I have ridden a bicycle with those Magura hydraulic rim brakes and I really like them. You can retro fit them to bikes with mounts for cantilever brakes and personally I have to say that I think I'd prefer the Magura hydraulic rim brakes to many of the disc brakes, but this is a personal opinion of course.
I've only had limited time with hydraulic rim brakes like these but they stop very well and don't seem to squeak as much as some disc brakes. Have you noticed that?
ElectricBikeReview.com - I had a friend who had them on his bicycle. The braking was very good and progressive, I think because the blocks contact the rim with no angle. The blocks wear evenly as well.
Nice quality bike there, super parts plus the mid mount motor make me happy. Suspension is overated town not needed. In japan they call these mini velo's - cool bikes. My fav is the Hooligan..
Very cool frame design, reinforced like the Sahel Compact but more of a mid-step than the lower "x" style. Thanks for the heads up about this one, www.roadbikereview.com/reviews/just-in-cannondale-hooligan-1-urban-bike maybe they will offer an electric version someday?
Your hope is real! check out electrolyte.bike/en/produkt/kosmopolit-das-kompaktrad/, shame its a hub motor & price - but its lefty fork battery & SS frame couplers -hell its cool but $5661.33 US Dollars ouch!!.
Yeah, this bike almost seems more like a car or something. It responds quickly, isn't too loud and the computer and buttons don't really get in the way.

I feel you... it's snowing right now in Colorado, no bike riding for me :(
This is a very good bike.
I am very satisfied after one year.

this place is an ebikers mecca..
zwarst I've been there many times, unfortunately too busy with travel and moderation here to get deep into it. Thanks for sharing :)
Wow, so many different sensors - that's a step in the right direction for electrical assist you don't even notice that it's there.
