    Some thought went into this set-up, thanks for sharing. I've found that I prefer a simple, inexpensive shotshell belt over a slung pouch simply because it stays in place and wont swing around while I'm moving.

    My personal defense/camping scattergun is a Mossberg 590A1, Vortex Venom red dot, Surefire forearm with Surefire light, 6 round sidesaddle, 3 point sling. I do the traditional slug/buckshot/slug loading. 3 buckshot/3 slug on the sidesaddle. Lot of bears most of the places we camp in Wa, ID, and MT.

    Hey my Brother, I'm just giving some Intel on my (New ) setup. After watching this video a few weeks ago, it really made me realize and rethink my own set up. I've got field medical training, and I stay up-to-date on training. Thus ,I'm good to go on this. But you opened up the reality of a ( Need Med Now ), issue ,by having just that one piece of equipment. Tourniquet !! So with that knowledge, I renewed my opp. Running now with a minimal Med Kit + Tourniquet mounted on Buttstock. This is absolutely such a great piece of Intel . And I respect and appreciate you for sharing. Thanks. Stay safe and focused, may God always have your 6 O'clock.

    Great video that's almost exactly how I'm setting up my benelli Nova tactical, one thing I tried and am going to continue using is a vertical foregrip on the pump. I fired 100 rounds of high brass buck/slug yesterday and found the recoil to be much more manageable, especially with 3 1/2" shells. It also made my follow up shots smoother and quicker.

    I love the set up on your 2 weapons. Your video has given me some great ideas. I really like the sling bag and never thought of that before. My home defense loads are #4 buckshot with shot size at approximately .24 inches the pellet count is typically 21 to 24 in each cartridge... that's a heck of a lot of lethal holes at home defense range. Lots of holes = lots of bleeding.

    Why would you not want a 2 point sling? Single point slings are retention only. 2 and 3 point slings are retention as well as stowage when you need to work with your hands, not to mention some can hold extra rounds.

    • @michaelsorenson3887
      @michaelsorenson3887 3 роки тому

      I'm a year late to this comment, but for anyone else, some feel that a 2 point sling (that attaches at the front end and and the stock) can get grabbed in with your "pumping" hand, causing you not to be able to pull the forend back, and dont want to have to worry about overcoming that possible interference

    Nice setup. I recently acquired a 590 with the 8 round magazine. I must admit I’ve had no formal shotgun training, but I don’t see how the sling does anything except get in the way. Oh, and I love your back porch 😊

    • @WeaponsJunkie
      @WeaponsJunkie  8 місяців тому +2

      I love the 590 good pickup. Look as the sling as the holster is for a pistol, the sling is for the long gun. If you need to go hands on with someone,pick up a small child and run, etc etc you can sling your long gun “holster it” and it’s still on you, you don’t have to drop it, so you’re always ready for the fight. Thank you. Moved recently and miss that porch, but love my extra property :-)

    I prefer using the QD attachment readily available in the buttstock, keeps it from swinging into your chin, especially when transitioning from one side to another, a little extra drag also keeps the action from your nuts and barrel from your ankles.

    When your firearm hands it’s a nut buster when you have a single point sling and it’s sways all over out of control when you have a two point sling you can sense it up close to your body and you have more control of it while you grab your secondary I have not met anybody that actually uses a single point sling unless they have something to tuck under their arm like a sub machine gun or an A.R. pistols that they try to keep hidden while wearing a jacket

    Nothing will work besides a 2 point sling, let's see how well that single point works if you need to take both hands off the weapon and give assistance to someone, or move real fast, or get in a struggle, not a very good option unless that is all you have. If you can't use a 2 point then you just don't know how to use a sling.

    • @WeaponsJunkie

      I’ve trained quiet a bit with a single point. I appreciate your dissenting view, but I suggest some training with a reputable company

      @@WeaponsJunkie no reputable company will ever say a single point sling is ever better then a 2 point period, unless they are just trying to be tacticool. Single point has its place, probably in airsoft. I can do everything with a 2 point that anyone can do with a single point and so much more. Not trying to discouraged you, each their own but if you want to hinder yourself that all on you.

    💥 My shotgun carries nine (9) shells, with each shell containing 10-15 pellets (depending on size & load). In my case, that's a potential total of 90 to 135 #3 buckshot pellets fired at the bad guy(s). I just don't see a great need for a side saddle or bandolier carrying extra shells for "home defense."

    Why does everyone put a sling on their home defense shotgun. What's the rational besides freeing your hands? I'm hesitant to put a sling on my HOME defense shogun. If I need it, I'm going to need it in a hurry from where it's kept, close to where I sleep. My concern is that it's just one more piece hanging off the gun that could get snagged on something, hampering its rapid deployment. I don't plan on clearing rooms in my house, just the one I'm in. I'm not looking for the fight, just defending myself from one when it comes to me and ending it quickly.

    • @WeaponsJunkie
      @WeaponsJunkie  2 роки тому +2

      If you don’t have family or kids and it’s just you then it may not be necessary. If you had to grab a family member or kid or drag an injured person then having a sling could be invaluable. There are several scenarios where one would be very useful for a home defense gun. Come out and take a class sometime with those trainers I suggested, it will really help expand the thought process as it did for me. Thanks for watching

    • @Icybones000
      @Icybones000 2 роки тому +1

      Why a sling, if you happen to get into a physical confrontation they won't be able to take your own weapon off you and use it against you. That's one good reason to have a sling attachment to you and your weapons.
