Just found this machine at a goodwill I couldn’t figure it out I was very amazed I actually found your video..thanks to you I was able to learn how to adjust it and now I’m good to go thank you again
Thanks so much for the info. I just wanted to sew on my grandmothers machine that she left me. threaded everything through everything worked Perfect thanks again for the info.
@@BillOfAllTrades2016 was the bobbin metal or plastic? I have a Singer 5525 but it's been in storage for quite a while. The threading seems to be the same but the bobbin is missing/misplaced. Thank you for filming this video. Take care and be safe 😷
Great! I had forgotten how to use my machine. It has been sitting for years. Now I am using it again. This was so helpful. Thank you. I noticed my model 5528 has a piece (little white plastic arm) to the left of the thread holder that yours did not, but it did not matter because I am up and running again!
Thanks for the demo. Excellent views! Much appreciated. Recommendation--When sewing, NEVER pull or push your fabric while "under the needle". Let the machine do it, as one can inadvertently bend the needle and damage the needle and/or throwing the machine out of timing. Also, Bill used only one layer of material. It would have been preferential to have folded the material so there were two layers as this is primarily how we sew with fabrics.
Shirley Ann thanks for the advise. As for Dale Erickson, if you read the title, this video is called “threading a singer 5528 sewing machine” you don’t need a light to thread the machine. I also forgot to talk about the power cord and the leather carrying case it came with, but it isn’t titled “things nobody cares about on a sewing machine” Ps go nitpick someone else’s video
This video, when you put your foot on the peddle to put thread onto the bobbin, should the needle go up and down? I’ve seen videos saying it shouldn’t and there should be a lever? To ‘disable’ the needle. Thanks! Your a gem
Here is my bobbin winding video for that machine. The needle should not move when winding the bobbin. You will see in this video the knob I use to disable the needle. Hope it helps ua-cam.com/video/WhG_UGDAU0s/v-deo.html
Thanks a million! This particular model is a bear to thread. It threads completely different from a standard machine. The only reason I can think of for this is perhaps all it's extra features like darning and zig zag stitching??
I just got this second hand locally, but was also given a newer, lightweight singer from a family member. Should i keep the older model and sell the newer?: also, what year was tmodel?
I can’t remember what year it was. I think from the 1970s to early 1970s. Personally I would keep the newer one and sell the older one. The newer one would be easier to find replacement parts for down the road.

Wonderful! I’m glad my video helped. Thanks for watching please like and subscribe. And enjoy the machine.
I wish you had one for how to wind a bobbin on this machine, you did an amazing job showing how to thread it!
Thanks. I got rid of that machine shortly after I made the video so I can’t even go back to remake one.

I couldn’t figure out why everything kept getting so tangled but it was because the bobbin was backwards
Good thing you fixed it. Weird how such a small thing will make such a big mess. Please like and subscribe

Always glad when my vids help.
So helpful I've never known how to do it! I always get my dad to haha thank you.
You’re welcome
Could you please tell me how similar this 5528 is to the 5525.
I’m not familiar with that machine. Your best bet is to google the differences.
Do you have more videos on this singer sewing machine 5525? I just bought one and would like to see more videos on this machine please.
Unfortunately I sold that machine shortly after making the video.
@@BillOfAllTrades2016 tell me the price of that machine please, i have this one and i dont know the price to sell it
I sold this one for $80. Try for $100 tho first and see if someone might buy it.
Thanks Bro!
Glad to assist
Thank you thank you thank you. I was missing the entire opening the door on the left part.

Yes machines with extra stitching features and more specialty options are usually a bit more difficult or different than the standard machines.
Gracias por la explicación. Me sirvió mucho tu video.

Maybe you have too much tension. Or you need stronger thread. Hope you get it working. Please like and subscribe
This was so helpful

I have the same machine, but it isn't stitching at all... :-/ I don't know if I missed a step
I have this same machine. It's my favorite sewing machine
This was the machine mom taught me with.

Hey I threaded my machine but the thread is not threading on my test paper? Could you tell me what I’m doing wrong?
I’m not sure. Did you thread it exactly as shown in the video? You may have missed a step
Bill Of All Trades Brantford When I press the peddle the thread seems to unthread itself from the needle, I’ve never sewn before so I’m not sure.
I am not sure what’s wrong. Sorry. Wish I could help😟
Thank you very helpful.
