My heart goes out to the families of the firefighters and all those involved.
Noticed the respectful questioning by the press as far as not yelling out questions and demanding answers, the whole city is saddened from such a terrible loss of first line heros - such a tragedy.
I didn’t see any respectful questioning. They asked dumb and obvious questions. “Is the snow gonna make it worse?” Duh.

You can tell the fire chief does not want to deal with the reporter asking multiple questions. He tried to push his way in twice before the chief finished talking, I'm glad he shut him down. He gave other reporters a chance to ask questions and then he still disrespected the chief by one more question.. What a terrible reporter.

Damnit man now i gotta check on my boys. Im from sterling and spent 28 years there. I know that street very well. Hope it wasnt any of my buddies and RIP to who lost their life. Friend or not. This same exact thing happened here in Pa where i live last year. A water company struck a gasline an the employee never reported it. The next day the house right infront of where they were digging called the gas company for a gas leak. They rang the doorbell which caused an explosion. Blew the house apart and the entire roof landed across the street. A elderly lady died and her son was severely burned. Gas leaks are seriously terrifying.
A terrible loss for the fire service community. My heart goes out to those, FF and civilian, who were injured - particularly to the FF and their family who made the ultimate sacrifice. Keep in mind that those injured may have a very long road to recovery.
The chief holding the press conference did an excellent job, particularly considering the circumstances. Stay strong - the country is behind you.

Very good interviewer. He was assertive and asked good questions, but also yielded to other reporters so they could get their questions in.
Assertive??? No...just plain rude in trying to dominate that entire press briefing, only relinquishing his control over it when pretty much ordered to by the fireman trying to run it to let others trying to ask questions as well. Rude clod, NOT a good look for whatever channel (FOX 5?) he represents...

None of these vids. identify if it's N Gas or propane. Two gases behaving very differently. Lost a volunteer Fireman.
How old are you? This is the first time you've heard of a gas leak and explosion? I assure you it has happened quite a lot throughout history.

I'm sincerely impressed by the fire chief's professionalism during this press briefing on the Sterling, Virginia explosion. His ability to communicate clearly and maintain composure under tragic circumstances truly highlights the incredible strength of our first responders.
I’m praying they don’t have anyone else die. It seems that this was a horrific explosion! It’s horrific and I really think he is hugely worried about the other firefighters

My brother was a firefighter in Oakland, Calif. for 28 years. They see and deal with stuff other people wouldn’t be able to handle. Great men. He retired and moved to a pretty, quieter place. I think he had enough of people by then.
