To cut a flat face for the breech plug to seat against you need to make a tool. Or have a late. Just using a drill bit cut breech face is not professional. And if the BORE is not centered in the barrel the barrel must be set so that the barrel will not shoot far to the right or left so the point where the bore is closest to the flat so the barrel will shoot high. This barrel seems the WAY out and if the vent is drilled on the wrong flat it will shoot so far to the left or right it will be impossible to sight it in. And if the breech plug is not Worked in the last 1/16 of a flat by repeated tightening and loosening it will then be LOOSE when rermoved and reinstalled sinice it will be very easy to turn past the index. I have been doing this for over 50 years. The barrel in this video was one I was not carefull enough with. It was safe enough, but not what I do I got lazy working on my own project and if I ever install the percussion action on the barrel again it will be right. I shot this as a “picket bullet” rifle for about a month and then it became a safe queen till I pulled the action off and was. “WTF?”. To fit one to the barrel properly putting the proper flat down, will generally require filing both the breech face and the breech end of the barrel until the breech stops at the flat its supposed to be aligned with. Sometimes the tool shown being made here is needed. I have 3-4 of them for different thread sizes. ua-cam.com/video/T-XPy1XBh2Y/v-deo.html
