Ohhhhh mein Gott Das Boot at home.... Superb ! cotton really works, Very inspirating. How long to do (with all drying pauses) ? Thanks for sharing this technique. Subscribe is definitly done 🙂
Very Nice! I have many years of model building and have won contests for my military miniatures and fantasy gaming pieces. I have never done a submarine, but I already have the kit for the one I want to build a diorama for. I've had it for six years because I still wasn't sure how to build it and make people feel something. Now I do. Thank you so very much for sharing your video
The pleasure is all mine 😉 I've been modeling for 4 years. I've done a lot of dioramas with submarines, I like them a lot. I keep my fingers crossed for you 🙂
A tip: Next time build with retracted periscopes. They were very valuable and were only extended when you really needed them (or maybe for a short test, but then certainly not both at the same time). In terms of craftsmanship, however, the model is of course excellent.
Thanks, very valuable comment. I have made many U-boat dioramas with the periscopes retracted, extended or adjustable. Sometimes I make such a diorama for someone and according to their wishes 😉
Supernice! Very helpful! If I can add a comment, I would also mention what products you were using (brand etc.), in this way you can help the rookies like me and maybe earn some money...thank you. I repeat SUPER!
Thanks 🙂 All the products I used are described in the video. I added subtitles on purpose so everyone could see what I use to create waves. You just have to watch carefully 😉 If after watching you have a problem finding the names of the products, write to me and I will try to help 😉
@@slimmodels8545any info on "generic" products to help us vets on disability save expenses would be greatly appreciated brother. Love your work. Carry on.
It's hard to say, I think it can be done with brushes, but it will definitely be more difficult. I have been painting with an airbrush from the beginning. I wish you good luck, Tomek
@@slimmodels8545 Thx, i will try with a small piece of sea. Do you know any good alternative of Amsterdam Heavy gel gloss, since i cannot find it in my country. Thx
Amsterdam talens hevay gel gloss - this is a medium for acrylic paints, you can look for something similar from Renesans. You can definitely buy Amsterdam on ebay. You can also try using Mod Podge, I haven't used it personally, but I've seen others use it 😉
Is there a substitute for the heavy gel, I have the cotton, but don't have the other. I'm working on the USS Iowa BB-61 for a grandchild of a Sailor on board during the big one. I don't have the resources to do it justice. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Hello. Unfortunately, I don't know if your gel will be good. I only use Amsterdam talents medium gel or hevay gel. I find this product very good. You buy it once and it will last for a long time 😉
All the products needed to make a diorama are in the video, but I can also list: - styrodur xps - aluminum foil - wood glue - "magic" glue, white school glue (similar to wood glue) - Cosmetic cotton wool - Mr hobby surfacer primer 1200 - Tamiya Xf - 17 Sea blue - Tamiya X - 23 Clear blue - Tamiya X - 22 Clear - Valejlo foam effect - Amsterdam talens medium gel gloss, or Heavy gel gloss

Nice! Greeting condock24
Looks good. But is the adhesion on tin foil good? I would be afraid it will scrape / fall of easily

If the sea is rough on the surface like that, is it just as rough when submerged?
No.

ciao, very nice well done. how did you make the nameplate? have you a tutorial?
Thanks 🙂 I don't have a board tutorial. The plate is from a set. I painted it black and then drybrushed it with Ammo Mig Light metal A. MIG - 0621 😉

Can anyone tell me where to acquire the wooden base.
I'm having no luck in my search.
It's best to make a frame for a diorama yourself. I don't think you'll find one like the one in my film. I make all my own 😉
