My thing about the diploma situation is that the rule wasn’t that students couldn’t do a dance, it was that the attendees could not cheer or clap for the students during the ceremony. Some people in the crowd laughed when she danced. So because the crowd made a little giggle, she was denied her diploma 🤷🏾♀️

The way the school responded they are going to change the rules of withholding diplomas next year from all the backlash they got. Guarantee it !! I fully agree with your take on the graduation incident. At most graduations, they make it clear that they prefer we just walk across the stage and get the diploma because they don’t want the crowd doing too much. People need to listen. We have to stop giving everything a pass. There are rules whether we agree or not. I didn’t understand the rule of tuck in your shirt but guess what, I had to do it.
To an extent. There was another black young lady, who waved before she walked straight down to the same principal. The principal also did not give her her diploma. Check the video, she just waved.
Right, it’s typically geared towards the crowds. These rules have been eased or ignored for most graduations I’ve seen post covid.

Everybody in the comments attacked me because I said I went to a strict catholic school that would’ve did the same thing if not worse. They would withhold your diploma and make you do discipline summer school to receive your diploma. We need to understand the spaces we’re in and how to act and it’s not about black or white, that shit was ghetto and embarrassing. My mom would’ve have defended me she would’ve snapped on me for making my family look stupid
