Yesterday my replacement iphone was on a table and I accidentally knocked over a glass of water - I instantly went for my phone and dried it off and kept in a rice pack for three days - guess what - it was busted so much for apple bull shit Oh and biggest PS of the century - a device that is factory made to be IP68 water and dust resistant aka 1 m depth 30 min length under water safety DOES NOT COVER WATER DAMAGE ON STANDARD WARRANTY. As in if it gets wet, its an accidental damage and is not part of factory manufacturing fault
I brought my iphone x water damage in repair shop, the charged me $50 cad but they just cleaned the inside of the phone. But the screen turns on pretty well but, the screen is unresponsive and theres glitchy green in top right corner. So they said that i need a new screen. Ill be right back if it works!

Michplay well you need to call them again I did like month ago with another phone and they will send you a empty box then you mail the phone to them and you go from there either way they replace it for you or repair it

Bee Thao You can call Verizon customer service on the phone and add insurance to the iPhone don’t tell it has water damage and after you add the insurance in 2 days later you can claim the phone damage and they will give you a new one

I fix it by charging the iPhone X and then place it on a pillow so iphone heats up. The heat evaporate the water inside. If you can see your screen flickering, play a 1 hr 4K video while charging and placing it on pillow. The iphone heat up fast and green flickering turn to white flickering and eventually the flickering disappear completely. If I turn off, the green flickering comes back but its a lot less intense. Repeat until all clear. Try to make it upright as water can flow down through the speaker. My IPhone X works now.
Well if its 3 months, there are chances of rust forming in there. I suggest u open the SIM card and allow water to evaporate faster. Give a shot, worst case send to replace screen for $100.

Your phone is fkd. Sorry. Had this issue has happened to me twice now- first time i got under rain and second time for less than 2 seconds it was on a wet table where i knocked over a glass of water. Plus apple basic manufacturing warranty wont cover water damage so if you don’t have any insurance to be able to call it accidental damage and pay access fee - you might as well bin it. My point is - either apple is cutting costs on their “ip67” proofing in general manufactory or they forged their specifications as why the fk water damage is not on basic manufacturing warranty or basic insurance plan. I don’t think 10 minutes would be enough for it to get water damage I left mine in the whole pool of water for at least like two hours and then that’s where it partly got damage but not where it’s completely flashing green

Lina Som If the water damage happened long time ago so there is a big chance to damage the motherboard and screen but I suggest taken it to Apple and let them check it for you also don’t plug the charger

I’ve got my phone damaged twice and both times I had to pay full access fee for an “accidental damage” on my insurance and thank God I had an insurance in the first place because to my big surprise turns out that Apple does not include a manufacturing warranty for water damage as in they believe that water damage is an accidental damage because it’s nothing to do with the IP67 IP68 Water and dust resistance they claim their phones and gadgets have. The standard that suggests that the device can work fine and be absolutely fine under 1 m depth for 30 minutes.. it appears that we all here are going diving with our phones because in no way in their opinion the phone can easily be damaged by short spill or some steam or moist environment around the phone. As you can see it’s completely bogus Apple knows clearly that it’s not waterproof even from accidental spillages hence they don’t included in the basic factory warranty or their basic insurance. Either apple is cutting corners in manufacturing process to cut costs or they are falsifying their paperwork. Point is - do not get it wet, and id probably buy and ugly water resistant case too.
Mine did this a couple months ago but ended up fixing its self after a day or 2. Just came back. Either wont turn on or turns to a green tint but I can still somewhat see my screen. Its flickering right now as I type this. So hopefully its about to fix its self again

what i did was spam the power button over and over until i saw flickering in the corner. when you see flickering keep spamming the power button and it should flicker on hopefully it works for you
update: i see someone liked my comment, so after a couple months i can say that after a couple days after it happened, my phone was working but had green lines at the top and a weird green tint on the screen. after about a month and a half my phones perfectly fine now, and there’s no sign that it was even water damaged.

Vlad Petskel I try to fix it somewhere and they had the phone for 1 week but when I take it back from them I opened the phone myself and I see some rusty spots so I’ll buy some special screws to remove the motherboard and use some alcohol cleaner then will see the results also I went to apple store but they will charge me $549 because the phone has water damage. This is what happened to my iPhone X yesterday, I was in the shower and I had music in the phone and when I came out the screen was green and the turned black and isnt responding but I can hear notifications and vibration from the phone. What did you all do? Please help.

@@AdamAdam-in3gk my phone got wet, then immediately i blow with a dryer for awhile to dry up the water inside the speaker then i used for awhile and charged it. After i charge it, the screen became green and now i put in the rice.. Is this still gonna work?

Your phone is fkd. Sorry. Had this issue has happened to me twice now- first time i got under rain and second time for less than 2 seconds it was on a wet table where i knocked over a glass of water. Plus apple basic manufacturing warranty wont cover water damage so if you don’t have any insurance to be able to call it accidental damage and pay access fee - you might as well bin it.
My point is - either apple is cutting costs on their “ip67” proofing in general manufactory or they forged their specifications as why the fk water damage is not on basic manufacturing warranty or basic insurance plan.
Point is - dont buy apple they are overpriced corrupt bastards. They lost me as a client

I left mine in the whole pool of water for at least like two hours and then that’s where it partly got damage but not where it’s completely flashing green

If the water damage happened long time ago so there is a big chance to damage the motherboard and screen but I suggest taken it to Apple and let them check it for you also don’t plug the charger

Ogilver Moran you probably need a technician to open the device and dry it and clean it from inside but this is have to be ASAP without charging the battery by using the charger

I’ve got my phone damaged twice and both times I had to pay full access fee for an “accidental damage” on my insurance and thank God I had an insurance in the first place because to my big surprise turns out that Apple does not include a manufacturing warranty for water damage as in they believe that water damage is an accidental damage because it’s nothing to do with the IP67 IP68 Water and dust resistance they claim their phones and gadgets have.
The standard that suggests that the device can work fine and be absolutely fine under 1 m depth for 30 minutes.. it appears that we all here are going diving with our phones because in no way in their opinion the phone can easily be damaged by short spill or some steam or moist environment around the phone.
As you can see it’s completely bogus Apple knows clearly that it’s not waterproof even from accidental spillages hence they don’t included in the basic factory warranty or their basic insurance.
Either apple is cutting corners in manufacturing process to cut costs or they are falsifying their paperwork.
Point is - do not get it wet, and id probably buy and ugly water resistant case too.
Mine did this a couple months ago but ended up fixing its self after a day or 2. Just came back. Either wont turn on or turns to a green tint but I can still somewhat see my screen. Its flickering right now as I type this. So hopefully its about to fix its self again

Literally same thing happened to me. Had to send for replacement for insurance. I have come to believe this phone is not water proof.

Thanks for sharing this video,I wanted to do the same,my phone had the exact problem but I didn’t really know that water was the issue,I thought it was a screen related hitch..well I went to an Apple shop and they couldn’t help they just said I need to replace the screen for 300$ ,(kinda ironic they didn’t even observe if it was a water related issue) so I just gave up threw it on my drawer and just a week ago I decided to try to charge it and see if it works ..guess what ..I’m typing now on UA-cam..it really works ..I hope this helps u guys...u just need patience..don’t waste your money changing screen

what i did was spam the power button over and over until i saw flickering in the corner. when you see flickering keep spamming the power button and it should flicker on hopefully it works for you
update: i see someone liked my comment, so after a couple months i can say that after a couple days after it happened, my phone was working but had green lines at the top and a weird green tint on the screen. after about a month and a half my phones perfectly fine now, and there’s no sign that it was even water damaged.

When its low, whole screen goes green and glitchy. What did you do to make it better? Please help me. My phone is so important to me that Im having suicidal thoughts thinking about losing it

First don’t plug the charger, then put the iPhone inside the small plastic container full of rice leave it for 3 days and see hopefully it will work, the apple care will do nothing for the water damage but you can take it to them and let them check it without saying there is a water damage. Mine wast green but the screen was doing somme scary stuff so i powered it off and put it in rice. Ill take it to someone to open it and dry the water off, tell me you're opinion

My phone looks lile this, the camera was in water for like 8 seconds snd the screen is glitching anf going dim. My mom had me take out the sim card, turn it off, tap on it for 20 minutes to get water out, and now its infront of a fan. Please pray. My phone is leased and my mom is already in debt dude

I try to fix it somewhere and they had the phone for 1 week but when I take it back from them I opened the phone myself and I see some rusty spots so I’ll buy some special screws to remove the motherboard and use some alcohol cleaner then will see the results also I went to apple store but they will charge me $549 because the phone has water damage. I’ll let you know.
