Manchester's traditional Madonna del Rosario parade

Manchester embraced its Italian links on Sunday (July 7) as the traditional Madonna del Rosario procession will took place in the city centre.
Now in its 134th year it began as a religious festival and now celebrates the culture and traditions of families who migrated from Italy and their contributions to the city.
The procession remains a highlight of Manchester city centre's summer, a joyous mix of bands, banners, members of numerous parishes, and the thread of the colours of Italy's flag, green, red, and white, running through it.
