The Hasselhoff thing is a classic joke, as he once said his song "I be looking for freedom" was an integral part of german reunification. It is a joke that keeps rolling and rolling as it was picked up more and more.
@68K He was Knight, and he was the rider -- he drove a talking car! Voiced by William Daniels (also known as Boy Meets World's Mr. Feeney), KITT was hyper advanced and was basically Knight's crime fighting partner. Cheesy but fun show.
The Hoff actually to this day is convinced he single handedly sang down the Berlin Wall because he gave a concert at the wall and months later the wall went down. He even complained in an interview that the Germans never thanked him for it. In reality, many Western musicians gave concerts in East Germany or near the wall by the time. It was die to the Eastern government lowering restrictions for Western artists to appease the people who were protesting more and more openly.
Greetings from Germany. The Hoff is famous here for "Knight Rider" and "Baywatch". And a German music producer pushed him in any German show to sing "Looking for Freedom". It was Number One in our Billboard Charts! So David became a successful singer. And because of the lyrics ("Freedom") it get more famous through the Fall of the Berlin Wall time. He was allowed to perform at New Year‘s Eve a few weeks after the Fall. He was a big star at that time but not so big as you think. But I still laugh at the jokes. The Hoff did not think that he brought the Wall down. That was just a joke at that time. "On a later tour of Germany in 2004, Hasselhoff would lament that a photo of him was lacking from the Checkpoint Charlie Museum in Berlin."
If you haven’t already watched it and want another amazing Ben Stiller movie - Tropic Thunder. All star cast including Robert Downey JR (aka Ironman in the MCU) and Jack Black. It’s so damn funny
Your laugh is so contagious. Please do Mel Brooks. P.S. Ben Stiller's parents were Anne Meara and Jerry Stiller. They met as budding comedians up in the Borscht Belt, Meara being Irish and Stiller Jewish. They became a beloved comic duo and still made appearances together in their later years. They also both did projects independently of each other. King of Queens is a great place to watch Stiller (Meara as well, but she had a more limited role). She was in quite a few movies, though, which is where I got captivated by her (didn't even know she was a comic at that point). Anyway, they were great. I think he just passed away last year, and Meara about two years before that. Ben Stiller looks exactly like their two faces combined. Suggestions: Mel Brooks Young Frankenstein, Blazing Saddles, History of the World Part I, Spaceballs. Also check out Monty Python stuff. My favorite is Holy Grail. Life of Brian and Meaning of Life are pretty great too. Some other funny movies are Knives Out, Clue and The Birdcage. Anyway, all the best.
This is one of the reasons this channel was created. To bring some joy into people's lives. We have enough crap to deal with. Lets all take a minute and laugh a little. That's why when I laugh I let it all out. Just fill the room with it. My kids love it.
Steve The Pirate was played by Alan Tudyk, an actor who plays quirky roles. He's best known for playing "Wash" in the TV series Firefly (and the movie Serenity), for playing an evil due in "Dollhouse", and, currently, stars as an alien from outer space in the TV series "Resident Alien"
Fun fact: when Justin Longs character is getting smoked in the head with the ball machine they actually did it. Vince went in and did one and was like whoa that is way too fast and the director was like Justin was in here taking them for like an hour 😂😂😂 Lol and also Lance… they found that like the top 20 guys all were cheating so if everyone is cheating it’s still fair.
Great reaction, man. I love how amazingly goofy this movie is. Definitely one of my favorite comedies. Vince Vaughn is hysterical as the "what-the-hell-am-I-doing-here?" guy. 🤣🤣 I recommend WEDDING CRASHERS if you've never seen it. Him and Owen Wilson are great together. SO funny.

As far as him in good guy roles, I would also recommend Meet the Parents, and maybe "There's Something About Mary," though the latter is a little more on the raunchy level so it depends on your tolerance for that stuff.
I like this movie a lot. I love to quote this movie and Ben Stiller's performance in this film is fantastic. The underdog story was also great, and I think that the actors did a great job of selling themselves as losers against the well-honed and muscular professional team. Also, the comedy in this film is just great.
I don't know if u know this but the guy who plays Gordon was also in office space. Another hilarious movie u should see. Also, u should see Ben stiller in There's Something About Mary.
Most the top riders were juicing in cycling when Lance was caught. Doesn’t excuse it but he was made the poster boy of the issue. He did do a lot of tremendous good though with his success by bringing attention and aid to cancer research.

Loved your reaction to this classic! Regarding Lance Armstrong, he really was a scapegoat for anti-doping at the time because he won the most and was the most famous. Investigations into the Tour de France found that to find a CLEAN cyclist, you would have to go down the rankings into the 10's and 20s. Even now, an estimated 65% of the aggregate top 10s are involved in some form of this "cheating". Not trying to change your mind on the topic or anything, but you admittedly have been holed up for a while, and I wasn't sure if you were aware of this. There is an incredible documentary, Icarus (2017), that covers this and much more about doping in the Olympics, which might make for a really interesting reaction if it interests you at all.
Hi James! Great choice today! I love this movie, but I have a little "fun fact" from my childhood back in the 1970s. At school, we played Dodgeball with those rubber balls. At home, however, the alley we played in, was basically a hill. Throwing uphill was not usually a problem. But throwing downhill... that ball (or any ball, really) got away from us pretty easily. It would roll all the way down the hill, to the cross street, and that was our "border". We weren't allowed to cross that without a parent with us. So, being the inventive little shit that we were, we opted to use Frisbees to play Dodge with. If it got past us, it would float to the ground and stay there. Now, the downside to this is that if you think those red rubber balls hurt when they smacked you in the face... imagine what that hard plastic edge of a Frisbee felt like. Of course, back in those days, a cut or a bruise was common, but fairly well ignored by the older generations. "It's not that bad. Walk it off." I love seeing the look on people's faces when I tell them about that. All those scrapes, scratches, and bruises toughened us up. We were kids, we didn't see anything wrong with taking a Frisbee upside the head. Of course, we also played a game called "Smear the Queer", where someone was chosen at random, chased down and take a little beating (nothing too bad, really), then they got to pick the next "Queer", and we'd keep on going for a while. Needless to say, we got a LOT of exercise back then. lol. Also, the actor who played the nerdy looking guy who fell in love with the ugly Russian woman, he starred in another movie I think you'd like called "Grandma's Boy". I forget his name, but I like him. He's a good actor. You know me, I'll edit as needed. =D Speaking of... Steve the Pirate. Alan Tudyk. You may not recognize the name, but he played K2-SO in Rogue One. He wasn't just the physical "on set" of the character, but he also voiced him.

@@AwesomeUSMovies Yeah, man... growing up pre-2000 was risky. The 1970s were fun as Hell, but it's a wonder any of us lived through it. Illegal fireworks, toy guns that looked and sounded real, the ability for a child to buy cigarettes and alcohol with a well written note from "the parents", building ramps to jump over things with our bikes, not wearing helmets when riding out bikes.... I could go on. I was a teenager in the 80s, going into shady pool halls, malls, arcades, pizza joints.... playing with black powder (I was in a Civil War Reenactment group) and firearms, going to concerts... it was a free for all. Okay, so here's a bit of really fun trivia for you: Ben Stiller (White) and Christine Taylor (Kate) are married in real life. It makes their interactions in the movie that much funnier. So glad this movie was in your comedy "wheelhouse". Seems you really appreciated and enjoyed this brand of humor.

Little fun story about Chuck Norris: "1994, as Norris walked down the street, two men approached him. They were a little bigger than the TV star and began to crowd him. Norris thought they wanted autographs. He smiled as the two men produced knives and demanded his wallet. You can probably guess what happened next. By the time the Dallas Police Department rolled up on the scene, they had to save the would-be muggers from Norris, who had broken the men's arms and reduced them to puddles on the sidewalk, according to his autobiography."
This movie is in my top few funniest movies, along with Dumb & Dumber and Clerks II. Ben Stiller is just so extra in this one and this might be my favorite of his characters. Jason Bateman as Pepper Brooks is also a highlight for me. 🤣
Great reaction! Glad you liked the movie As for Hasselhoff...his singing career never really did anything in North America but for whatever reason, his popularity was enormous in Germany😳😂😂
Fun fact, Christine(Katherine) is Ben Stiller's wife in real life. She is in every one of his films. Suggestion, you should put "Mystery Men" on the Patreon poll. It is one of Ben Stiller's best films.
Germany is a car-driving nation. Nowhere was KnightRider as successful as on German television. He was the quintessential American in Germany. We make a joke out of the fact that he was responsible for the fall of the Berlin Wall (1989). His song "Looking for Freedom" (1989) was playing in Berlin at the time. A real national treasure for Germany ;)
Great reaction to an uproarious movie! If you enjoy Ben Stiller and Christine Taylor together in a comedy, I highly recommend Zoolander. It's about the world of Male Models. Keep doing what you do-- I'm here for it!
Another great video! So I haven’t looked through these comments, but I’m sure there’s tons of people screaming for you to watch “Tropic Thunder” next. Which stars Ben Stiller. And honestly it’s one of his greatest films, if not flat out very best. But I’d advise you to hold off on “Tropic Thunder” as that movie parodies certain classic war films that you’ll probably get to. You’ll appreciate and understand the context of “Tropic Thunder” more if you see those classic war films first. A Ben Stiller film I’m going to recommend where he plays something other than what you saw here and in Happy Gilmore. “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty” (2013) That’s an interesting film and it’d be interesting to see your reaction to it.
Oh yeah! And another excellent comedy starring Ben Stiller in not a villain role “The Royal Tenenbaums” (2001) Think you’ll really find that film interesting.
"F-in Chuck Norris..." Ben Stiller loves to play a comedic villain. Check him out in the summer camp comedy Heavyweights. For something of Ben's lighter side - Zoolander.
On your ‘shows’ channel I HIGHLY recommend you watch Firefly and the follow up movie Serenity. The “pirate” in Dodgeball is one of my favorite characters in the show.
Also, completely unrelated but two other movies I think you should watch are “Hacksaw Ridge” anndddddd….I brain-farted and forgot the 2nd movie I wanted to recommend. I’ll comment back if I remember it
Some people think that David Hasselhoff is somehow loved in germany. Must have something to do with him singing at the berlin wall right before it fell. It's not true and more like a meme or joke these days. Maybe some people liked him 30 years ago.
Hasselhoff is of German decent(obvious because of his surname) and has had big songs in Germany among other things, that's why he is the coach and why they worship him, as silly and funny as it is haha
I love that movie. Your patrions need to get you to do Baseketball- this one and Baseketball are some of the few that have me laughing the way you were. I actually laughed a lot just watching you laughing.

Seriously tho... *THE CROW* (1994)
Welcome aboard! Added to my list, thanks for the suggestion.
Little fun story about Chuck Norris:
"1994, as Norris walked down the street, two men approached him.
Love it
The actress that plays Kate is actually Ben Stiller's wife in real life. Isn't that a hoot?
totally a hoot. hilarious
Starring Vince Vaughn and Ben Stiller in this comedy film about dodgeball. Remember if you can dodge a wrench you can dodge a ball
Great line
David Hasslehoff is loved in Germany. For his singing career of all things.
That they got the Hoff to do this movie, is hilarious.
totally had no clue
What I like is that I know your reactions are authentic! You are so fun to watch movies with.
Oh, thanks, appreciate that
Ben stiller in this is a trip.
If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball
This movie is in my top few funniest movies, along with Dumb & Dumber and Clerks II. Ben Stiller is just so extra in this one and this might be my favorite of his characters. Jason Bateman as Pepper Brooks is also a highlight for me. 🤣
I loved it
Great reaction! Glad you liked the movie
As for Hasselhoff...his singing career never really did anything in North America but for whatever reason, his popularity was enormous in Germany😳😂😂
Really, I had no clue
Another great Ben Stiller movie/movies is Night at the museum so if you haven’t watched them I totally recommend
I'll make sure it's on my list.
Not sure if you've seen "Wedding Crashers" but if you haven't, it's a classic. It has Vince Vaughn in it and he's hilarious. 😂😂
Added thanks
Great reaction, laughed along with you. You gotta check out Grandma's Boy & Office Space, you'll love 'em!
I'll check it out!
Keep up the great content James. I love watching you find new movies 🤣🤣
I'm glad I watched this one. Hilarious
OMG your reaction is so hilarious. I never seen anybody like you.
Great reaction again. Hey also if you wanna see another funny movie with Ben stiller where he is not the douchebag try watching “meet the parents”
Added to list thanks
Fun fact, Christine(Katherine) is Ben Stiller's wife in real life. She is in every one of his films. Suggestion, you should put "Mystery Men" on the Patreon poll. It is one of Ben Stiller's best films.
Been so long since i have watched this movie, glad you reacted to this movie!
I'll always love: if you dodge a wrench you can dodge a ball
Germany is a car-driving nation. Nowhere was KnightRider as successful as on German television. He was the quintessential American in Germany. We make a joke out of the fact that he was responsible for the fall of the Berlin Wall (1989). His song "Looking for Freedom" (1989) was playing in Berlin at the time. A real national treasure for Germany ;)
Interesting thanks
"This once again proves my theory, Germans love David Hasselhoff" - Norm Macdonald
Great reaction to an uproarious movie! If you enjoy Ben Stiller and Christine Taylor together in a comedy, I highly recommend Zoolander. It's about the world of Male Models.
Keep doing what you do-- I'm here for it!
Cool, thanks!
this has got to be a record for the amount of one liners you called right before the movie said it..
I did? If I did them it was just me saying what was already said.
Everything is so funny in this movie, If you can dodge a wrench you can dodge a ball
Great reaction! Try Ben Stiller's ZOOLANDER. His wife is in this movie too. It's hysterical.
Added to my list, thanks for the suggestion.
Another great video!
So I haven’t looked through these comments, but I’m sure there’s tons of people screaming for you to watch
“Tropic Thunder” next.
“The Secret Life of Walter Mitty” (2013)
That’s an interesting film and it’d be interesting to see your reaction to it.
Oh yeah!
And another excellent comedy starring Ben Stiller in not a villain role
“The Royal Tenenbaums” (2001)
Think you’ll really find that film interesting.
Added to my list, thanks for the suggestion.
@@AwesomeUSMovies Hope you add “The Royal Tenenbaums” as well.
That’s a very unique comedy director with a very different style
David Hasselhoff is a household name in Germany for his music. Yes, that's right. Singing.
I had no clue
My family and I used to watch this movie all the time when I was younger it was always on tv , I remember it being hilarious 😂😂😂
love it
"F-in Chuck Norris..."
Ben Stiller loves to play a comedic villain. Check him out in the summer camp comedy Heavyweights. For something of Ben's lighter side - Zoolander.
Added to my list, thanks for the suggestion.
One of my favorite movies! Glad ur watching it!
It's so good!
I’ll comment back if I remember it
Actually, I've already reacted to Hacksaw Ridge. It's an amazing film. I hope you get a chance to watch my reaction.
Next for Ben Stiller, you should watch the comedy There's Something About Mary!!
Added to my list, thanks for the suggestion.
If you haven't seen "Reality Bites" yet, you should. Ben Stiller stars in it and directed it. It's great!
As a guy that was in HS before social media and in college when it blew up I miss when all we did was quote Dodgeball movie lines lol
Lots of great lines
Some people think that David Hasselhoff is somehow loved in germany. Must have something to do with him singing at the berlin wall right before it fell. It's not true and more like a meme or joke these days. Maybe some people liked him 30 years ago.
Ok, good to know. I totally didn't understand it
glad you enjoyed things bro
Ben Stiller does not always play a jerk. He was really good in The Secret Life of Walter Mitty.
Added
i loved this reaction, i first watched this with my parents when i was 8 and it’s still one of my favorite movies
I'm glad you enjoyed it. You should check out my entire comedy playlist
@@AwesomeUSMovies Interestingly, I didn't see this for the first time until 2010, though I had just turned 13 at that time...
11:00 This girl reminds me of Chloe Grace Moretz but then I realized Chloe was 5 when this movie was made.
I don't know who that is
Love this channel its like watching movies with my brothers
So happy to hear it
Hasselhoff is of German decent(obvious because of his surname) and has had big songs in Germany among other things, that's why he is the coach and why they worship him, as silly and funny as it is haha
That's funny
Some good Ben Stiller comedy’s when he doesn’t play a D-Bag: Meet The Parents, Something About Mary, Zoolander.
Added to my list, thanks for the suggestion.
This was definitely Ben Stiller’s best performance ever
I love that movie.
Your patrions need to get you to do Baseketball- this one and Baseketball are some of the few that have me laughing the way you were. I actually laughed a lot just watching you laughing.
BASEketball
Added to my list, thanks for the suggestion.
@@tempsitch5632 if y’all wanna get technical foul on me.
“Hey, why is me not using the right font all f^€£d up?!
“What’s what we gotta do. Say totally FU£€D up 💩 to make him miss.
“HEY WHY…
You should know the rest. 😈
You got to see heartbreak kid with Ben Stiller. He usually plays the hopeless romantic or the push over.
Added thanks
"We haven't seen sudden death dodgeball since the Helsinki incident of 1908, and I think we all remember how that turned out!"
LOVE IT!
Your laugh is super infectious.
Thanks
Ben's a good guy in the Meet the Parents trilogy
Added to my list, thanks for the suggestion.
