    Pretty much like I remember it in 1980. Not a lot going on. But it sure was peaceful, and beautiful - if you don't require lots of sunshine. I was from Texas, so the culture shock was tremendous. And I wouldn't trade those memories for gold.

      Yes it is, I do feel Haverfordwest town centre isn't as good as I remember, but that said, the people and beaches are genuinely nice. I came here for those reasons, a beach for everyday of the week, very arty video in a sublime way capturing colour and movement 👍

I wanna visit Haverfordwest with mom ,but it says very dangerous with a very high crime rate !! How true & realistic is this !? I hardly can imagine any place in Wales have a worse crime rate than ours ,here is 87 in 1,000 !! There ,they say way over it !! Sigh 😕😞 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿💜🥁🐉🎤🎵🎶💕💞

    A pretty town with lots of character. It's just a real shame that the town centre has gone into such a rapid decline, unlike other principal towns in West Wales, such as Cardigan and Carmarthen, which seem to be thriving.

    The quality of the graphics of this production is excellent! Some Travel Agents don't capture shots this good, unless you are one lol! In relation to advertising or marketing Haverfordwest overall you have done a really good job. I feel you have given a wide broad insight to visitors or travellers of the town. The only improvement is that you could have covered Market Street (this St in olden times was important), Cinema and Leisure Centre. Nonetheless, you made Haverford look incredibly nice

      Thanks for the kind words, Paul. It was just me shooting what I found interesting or attractive on a couple of quick walks round with a friend. I hadn't been before so wasn't sure of the best places to see, but it's a nice town, so I hope to be back sometime!

    • @pauljenkins6166

      When you're bk make sure to go on Quay Street and Market Street to cover the shops, restaurants and pubs/taverns up there next time if you are going to shoot another piece. The way in which you filmed Riverside quay and Castle square was spectacular! It really showed a positive portrayal of what it actually is like. A pleasant, stress-free and interesting town, way more than ordinary. Once again, well done!

    A very nice video with a great music ! 🎶 I'd love to include Haverfordwest in our itineraries ,but it says a very dangerous place in Wales & one of the highest crim rates in U.K. !! I live in L.A.,so it feels weird to know that a Welsh town can have a worse crime rating than ours here !! How bad really is it !? It looks so pretty & peaceful !!! 😫👍👍💜🥁🐉🎤🎵🎶💕💞

    • @BadgerBotherer1
      @BadgerBotherer1  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks for the nice comments on the video, which I made as I was passing through on a quick visit to the town, so I'm not the best person to answer your question. I walked through the town three or four times, for two or three hours at a time, a few years ago, and it always seemed to be very pleasant, and I saw no sign of crime at all. Perhaps if you hung out in some of the worst areas of town after dark, you might see some antisocial behaviour, but I doubt you would notice this as a tourist visiting the "touristy" areas in and around the town centre. Most likely, most of the reported crime occurs on one bad Council Estate, and / or is committed by drunks coming out of the pubs on Friday and Saturday nights. I wouldn't hesitate visiting again, and I don't think you should - it's a quiet rural town - no guns there, unlike L.A.! But, if anyone who lives there knows better, please chime in!

      @@BadgerBotherer1 Hello !! Thank you so very much for your prompt response !! 😀 I am so ~glad that you said the things I was hoping to hear you'd say !! 🎶 LOL.
      Like Italy ...that's what I think reg.mafias there ,but some Italian guy warned me !! I know he had all good intentions & being caring !! He didn't want us tourists to do silly things ,or going to those countryside & rural areas & get hurt !! Other Italians told me that they usually wouldn't bother tourists like me !! Phew !! I am eager to know what others think ,too !! Lol. But, at this point I believe you are right !! Living in any areas & visiting is a whole different situation / story ! So...as long as we won't go into unknown areas ,sketchy areas ,I think we'll be fine !!! I surely hope so !!! Wales is so ~~~ gorgeous ,just like Italy is in many many ways !! So ,I get greedy that I wanna visit everywhere in both countries despite our tight budgets !! Just read it is a very steepy area to walk !!? I am a little worried of my elderly mom ...we'll definitely bring comfy shoes ,but we're not gonna go hiking ( I'd love to ! But ,mom can't !! ) so...Lol.

      No need to be scared. Moving is rated as one of the top three of the most stressful experiences in a lifetime by a poll. I can see you are stressed but the town of Haverfordwest is peaceful and tranquil. The river here unlike most towns is used regularly in the summer for sports like kayaking, canoeing, water polo, synchronized swimming etc- basically any water sport u can think of! Good luck with the move. X

    shame it doesn't look like this now, the river is shamefully dirty, the pubs are almost gone, the shops are closing left right and centre. it's like a ghost town and resembles a 3rd world country. The town used to be 1 of the prettiest places to be, friendly people, beautiful views and great shopping place. We have been sold out, even the council have been taken over private corporations. Huge 5g posts going up all over the place and nobody is taken any notice. Sad so sad. Wake up people, we won't have a town left in 10yrs at the rate of decline.....

    Why do people rate sound so lowly that they feel music has more value? Otherwise a nice video.

    • @BadgerBotherer1
      @BadgerBotherer1  7 років тому

      Caldera Records The sound on the original was just traffic noise, and maybe some wind distortion picked up by the mic. Not attractive to my ears, so I put the music on.

    • @calderarecords
      @calderarecords 7 років тому

      You have described just 2 of many sounds that make up ambient noise. Then there's people's footsteps, birds, distant voices, the water near the bridge, & so forth. ;) When it comes to atmosphere, music says far too much about what the uploader wants to think of a place. And that particular piece has been used in countless films to further portray a 'posh' environment. Like in Ace Ventura, the monopoly guy! (Kill me!!)
      But that's ok. Most people dish out £thousands on Plasma TVs, 3D Tvs, Flat screens, Curvature TVs, 4K Monitors, Laptops, Tablets etc. But then have 7.1 channels squashed through 2 tiny 1" drivers in the TV. And scoff at the idea of spending £50 on a pair of headphones or a sound bar. People rate sound very low. You never learn to appreciate it until its gone. I recommend "A Silent Voice [2016]". Its' an ear opener! Ha ha!
